I wish I was there to give you a real one! I am so pleased that you take your babysitting seriously- those parents are so glad to have you!! It's tough to be around a "biter", and you did the right thing.
Sorry about the MIL :furious: We all know how they can be!!
Kristin

AAAAAAAWWWWW Thanks!!!! Those are such nice things to say!!!!

Thanks Guys!!!! You made me feel lots better!!!!!

So help me, if I get stuck in a connecting room with these people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just keep your side of the door locked at all times!! :teeth:

Julie-

You did the right thing and I hope your day is going better. Sounds like DN is a bit ornery ......My oldest went through a biting stage but it was only with one kid :confused3 thankfully she took punishment better than your DN did and it only happened once. You might take this as an opportunity, if you feel the need to, to tell her parents that you can't watch her anymore as it's a liability. Some :grouphug: 's that your Monday doesn't last all week.

Julie- you sure have had a day, I hope your tomorrow is so much better.

Kate- great designs! I love them all.

Marti and Denise- This will be a better week for you.

Jennifer- I think you are just coming down from stress…..but if your feel your upper torso tingling (that’s what happened to me), then I will believe your are a mommy to be.

Yeah!!!! I wish I knew when my next trip is going to be. DH and the military will let me know soon enough I hope. I keep trying to get DH to let us go twice this year, everyone send PD so I can go twice this year.

I am, I love all of the kids that I babysit for so much!!! I do not see babysitting as just a way to make a paycheck (if I did then I am in the wrong line of work)!!!! Thanks for listenening and validating my feelings :)!!! I still feel terrible but it helps taliking about it!!!! Thanks

Julie :goodvibes

I think that you handled everything beautifully. If my daughter were staying with you, I would have appreciated your honestly and the timliness with which you acted both in having your MIL take your niece and in calling the parents. I hope that tomorrow is a better day!

And anyway, what kind of person stays so close to DL and doesn't even visit. Come on now. I braved Chritmas crowds to sneak in a couple of mornings because I couldn't bear being within site and not stopping in.

Oh boy, at the risk of sounding out of touch- who is Tom Welling? :confused3

I had thought the same thing last night so had to go check just now. I was hoping that he was a British star so that I could feel less out of touch, but alas I'm just out of touch. Tom Welling is Superman/Clark Kent in Smallville. He also played the oldest son in the Cheaper By the Dozen movies. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0919991/

I couldn't agree more, but they are weird!!!! I think that they think they are too cool for DL :rolleyes2 !!!! Thanks for all of your kind words, sometimes babysitting is a very under-appreciated job, you all have made me feel SO much better!!!!

Thank goodness this day is almost over, the one little girl w/ the worst of it was just picked up by her grandpa and he was very understanding (her mom did not tell him what had happened yet )!!! Sometimes I really question why I babysit (like today) but I really love being w/ kids, it keeps me home w/ my kids, and I'm not ready to go back and get a "real" job yet!!!

Thanks Again!!!!

Julie

are you joking! looking after kids is a totally real job - no way you'd find me doing it!! bet it takes twice as much energy as i exert in a day!! - don't know how moms and dads look after their own kids let alone other peoples!!

Glynis - Is everything ok? You haven't been on much the past few days.

Just got back from the dentist. We (myself and kids) had very good check-ups. Except they must have gagged Alyssa or something because she ended up throwing up, on their floor. Nicholas was told that his bottom teeth are loosening, which made him :woohoo:since he is the only one in his class that hasn't lost a tooth yet.

Did she get a flouride treatment? I always did, and I would apparently swallow too much and throw up there, too! Everytime, without fail.

H All;

Just popping in to say  "HI"!!!

Julie,

I am so sorry you had to deal with this. I hope that the parents still take it well. Just be apologetic, it is not like it could have been prevented. That type of thing happens often with small kids. I think you did everything you could have for the situation.

Sending you a great big :grouphug:

Becky
