Other than the Lost tonight, the next few weeks are supposed to be reruns, until we get in to May "sweeps" so now would be a good time to slowly catch up!

Again??? these breaks are a right royal PITA... we're cheating by downloading them so I suppose we shouldn't complain. For us season 1 finished early this year and season 2 is supposed to air in June, so if we waited we'd get to watch them all in a row...

Denise -- hope you and your family are feeling better today!!

Also, PD and prayers to Paul (WTG last night with attending Matthew's performance), and to Clare, who I hope is continuing to feel better!

Finishing out my course of antibiotics but I'm feeling :Pinkbounc

Must Do's are: the Safari, FOLTK show, Pocahontas show, EE, Boneyard, train out to the conservatory, Triceratop Spin. I don't think they'd do Kali River Rapids, Dinosaur, or Tough to Be a Bug. Anything else I'm missing we should do?
Have you seen Divine? Done the Jungle Trek?

Good morning all - I was reading last night but couldn't respond b/c my sweet little daughter decided a few days ago to clean the keys on my laptop wth her wipes - which she squeezed over the keyboard - now the typing is all messed up on it so I can only type at my desktop - the laptop needs to go in for service - but I wanted to catch up on all my shows and my desktop is not near the tv!!

I am going to send out one big :wizard: and :grouphug: and :cheer2: in fear of missing anyone!!!!!!

I have a busy day today - I am going to the doctor about my knee at 2:00 - hopefully it is nothing major!!!

and to Payless to get Clare's shoes

My mom brought me my nile crocs last night and I think they are really comfy too - you can count me among those who thought crocs were UGLY and now I am never wearing another shoe again!!! :lmao: Will that look silly Julia's wedding?!? :teeth:

I do think the payless crocs are WAY better than the regular ones that I tried on - I hate walking without them now - and I wore them to work last night and everyone said how cute they were!!!

Julie - how is the charming going?!?!?!

:wave2: Glad you're ok - at least Julia was trying to be helpful :teeth:

Sending :wizard: for your doctor's appointment - hope it all goes well...

:Pinkbounc for Payless... keeping my fingers crossed they have my size in stock :Pinkbounc

And Kate - I don't think you need to worry about wearing crocs to Julia's wedding as judging by her picture at Alyssa's pary she'll be wearing a pair herself :rotfl2:

OMG!!! I am having a bad day. Well it actually started last night.

SIL lives in Michigan; she was admitted to the hospital two days ago for major leg pain. (History… She was diagnosed with cervical cancer about six months ago, they did surgery and she did chemotherapy. The docs told her all was well.)

So she goes into the hospital and they do a few tests and find a tumor in her stomach. They think it may have gone into her lymph system. She is scheduled for surgery tonight at 5:00. Last night DH was on the phone with every member of the family (he has 5 brothers and sisters along w/ 2 step sisters all who live in California except the 1 in Michigan) the oldest BIL was packing for a redeye flight so he can be there in time for the surgery.

DH called MI sister this morning who was drugged up a bit for pain and he is now worried more than ever. He could take leave and go be with her, but if he does that and comes home and needs to ask for leave again, the military might not be so happy about that. In fact honestly they only grant emergency leave for deaths. Now most squadrons are very nice and would do what they could to help the member, but DH has a formal military class he MUST attend at the end of the month and it’s 4 weeks long. He could reschedule the class if he had to, but it is not an easy ting to do. (keep in mind that we are preparing for a retirement ceremony and reception this Saturday).

Retiring BIL calls this morning and said the guy working the ceremony for his retirement is an idiot and doesn’t have much done. BIL told this guy WEEKS ago that DH would be more than happy to work the ceremony. Now BIL is very angry and almost wants to skip the entire thing. (That is so sad, because after 20 plus years he should have the ceremony he wants) Along with all this DH might have to leave for MI and not be able to participate in the ceremony what so ever.

I am up to my eyeballs with a lot of stupid junk also. The silent auction baskets I am working at DD school is not going well because the parents are being asked to bring things for the Easter party also. If I’m lucky I might have enough for 1 basket. If I could have started this a month ago like I had asked, I bet I would have just about everything I need.
I didn't do laundry this weekend for some stupid reason and now I have that also.
Blah blah blah

AAARRRRRRGGGGG!!!!!

I am back on pg 1072 and will have to catch up later.

Thank you for listening. I am off to clean more and check for possible flights for DH.

Afternoon, y'all! Rees finally slept well last pm. Didn't get up until 11am, so I think his body is trying to catch up. BK is really coughing, but seems to be ok with cough meds. Taking the kids to the park this afternoon to play. It's a beautiful day.

Any thoughts on changing my Donalds B'fast from 8:30 to 8am so that we can start AK right at opening?

Also, CP b'fast vs dinner. B'fast is at 8:05 so we get to go into the park early, good picture ops, done at opening vs dinner at 6:35pm which would be a good way to wind down the day and be done right when Wishes starts and just go to the porch of CP to watch Wishes?

Thought and opinion appreciated.

ETA: Kate, hope your doctor's appt goes well. Marti, your friend is in my prayers and hope Hunka is feeling better today.

I don't know what the crowds are like when you are going -- we always did 8, so that the food was hot, everything was fresh and we could get to the safari quickly at opening. With Everest opening, I'm not sure how that is changing the dynamics of AK.

I love CP breakfast best because of the empty MK and pictures, fresh food, jump on rope drop etc. You are going to be there for a week, aren't you? So you don't have to be in quite as big a hurry as we usually are.

Whatever you decide, I hope you enjoy.

That sounds like a fantastic idea! We do everything to music around here, too... I'll have to remember the 3x5 card thing for when I have kids. With that, there really isn't much room for complaint about a particular chore as it's just luck! :)

That's exactly right! I forgot to mention that we had a family meeting where we came up with the chores as a family. Then we had lessons on how to accomplish all the chores, so everyone knows how to do all the chores. So far, no complaints (well, some, but none we can't handle). The kids know that as soon as the chores are done, we get to do something fun, like go for ice cream, go to the park, go fishing, or something else along those lines.

It also helps that the kids see Alan and me working alongside them. They can't use the Cinderella argument then.

Woohoo! I already did the Flylady task today. I try to get it done before I start Dis'ing or doing my homework. That way, I know that at least one thing will get done around my house during the day.

We've made a game out of the 27 fling boogie around our house. Mid-afternoon I put on some peppy music (right now it's Forever Plaid) and give the kids a bag. We set the timer for one minute and everyone runs around the house picking up as much stuff to throw away as we can. Then we fling our bags into the garbage can. The music makes us all want to dance, so we are dancing our way to a cleaner house. On weekends, we do the same thing with the weekly cleaning chores. I've got them written on 3X5 cards and I put them face down on the kitchen table. When the music starts the kids pick a card and do the chore. We dance our way through it, and then grab another card. We've found we can tidy our house in about an hour, and then we have the rest of Saturday to play. It sounds kind of stupid, I know, but it works for our family, and I don't have to scream like a banshee to get my kids to help out anymore! Yay! I always hated that!

Wow that sounds like a fun way to clean house... I'll have to try it with DH :teeth:

Did Kevin made these??? Even the characters or are these store-bought party decorations?? Wow, they are great!! Could you share a little bit about how you get this done?

Monica

I was really impressed with Kevin's efforts!

I bought a JoJo coloring book and he scanned the two pictures at a really big size (sorry, I don't know the exact dimensions, but you can see, they're pretty big). Then he colored them and printed them, using multiple sheets of paper, that he had to put together, piece by piece. He said the circle picture of JoJo was easier to piece together than the cut-out of the JoJo, Croaky, and Goliath.

He used sticker paper for the three characters, which looked pretty seamless, but he ran out, so he had to use photo paper for the circle JoJo. He used double-sided tape to attach that to the tri-board, but if you look closely, you can see the seams.

I hope that makes sense. Even though Party City now carries JoJo plates, napkins, etc., there was very little out there in terms of decor. Luckily, I have a creative husband! :goodvibes

Oh, Paula! I'm so sorry for all your family is going through! I'll add your family to my prayers. Utah is pretty close to California, but probably not close enough to help with the house and laundry. I would if I could, I hope you know that!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: that things will work out with your DH and all the stuff he has to go through with his class, etc. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do for you!

Not stupid at all. I love flylady for this very reason. It is amazing how much more relaxed our house is while at the same time cleaner. No more harping on anyone to do their stuff. We have fun doing it. My girls were too old when I started it, but I wish I had started it when they were little so that we could have danced our way through it.

So you put the dough in a plastic bag, roll it and then put it in the fridge... does it not get completely stuck to the bag when you try to get it out?

Also I need you to go back a stage to the mixing, do you do it by hand / wooden spoon / mixer that was the bit I really struggled with, binding all the ingredients together in the bowl...

I have a pretty powerful electric mixer. This dough has too much flour to try to mix by hand and simply using a hand mixer isn't too effective either.

The dough does stick to the bag a bit, but after I refrigerate it, I cut the bag open on both sides and peel the bag off. I only break off small pieces at a time (I keep the rest in the refrigerator until I need it) and I roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thick before I cut out the shapes.

Hope this helps and I'm glad you are feeling better!
Amy :)

P.S. But I can't believe you'd "accuse" me of posting as Kevin! So much distrust around here! :rotfl2:

Wow looks great. How did you do the bib with a transfer? Did it iron on the material OK?

I bought the bib at Hobby Lobby for 99 cents. Kevin measured the dimensions and sized the transfer (using light transfer paper) accordingly. Although the bib is "coarser" material than a cotton t-shirt, I thought the end result looked great. And, it held up better in the wash than some of our t-shirts have!

Amy :)

Sending some :wizard: and :grouphug: to Paula...hoping that your day/week gets better!

I hope your doctor's appointment went well Kate!

Denise, I'm glad Rees is starting to perk up, but I hope you and BK feel better soon!

Marti and Paul, hope you're starting to feel better too!

I hope I didn't miss anyone. Here's a little more :wizard: and :grouphug: just in case I did.

Thanks for all the compliments on our party pictures. I'll try to post some of our Disney trip later tonight.

And can you believe, I threw up again this morning?!! What's up with this late second-trimester nausea?!! I guess I need more sleep and rest...

Amy :)
