Bigger picture sounds good Jen  Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you :wizard:

Yeah, yeah.... but the LITTLE picture would have me going to Disney World in a few months! I'm so not good at the long-term stuff :rotfl:

Thanks though :)

Amy - Just wanted to say thanks for posting all of your pictures. You really outdid yourself. Everything looked beautiful, from the cakes to the games to the DDA girls (:) ). How did you do all of the big JoJo pictures that you put on the posterboard for the games?

Kate - where have you been. You can't disappear yet. You haven't forwarded me the DDA contact info yet. I hope all is okay and that you have a good report from the doctor today. Come "home" soon.

So ends my posting party. It only took me an hour to catch up.

So what should be the challenged between us pack rats? The one with the most stuff thrown/given away wins? :rotfl2: I will be downsizing the next couple of months and packing so that I don't have to do it all at once(yeah right I am such a procrastinator). I'm up for a challenge!!

Ok. So Glynis, Midnite (and maybe a few others) have mentioned FlyLady on several occasions. I got the book "Sink Reflections", and it sounds fantastic! The writing is very light and encouraging, and sounds like a great plan. For me, I can't do most of it quite yet because 75%+ of my stuff is in storage.... but maybe you'd like it! It's seems like it will be great for those of us who just can't find a place to start :rotfl:

Good morning all - I was reading last night but couldn't respond b/c my sweet little daughter decided a few days ago to clean the keys on my laptop wth her wipes - which she squeezed over the keyboard - now the typing is all messed up on it so I can only type at my desktop - the laptop needs to go in for service - but I wanted to catch up on all my shows and my desktop is not near the tv!!

I am going to send out one big :wizard: and :grouphug: and :cheer2: in fear of missing anyone!!!!!!

I have a busy day today - I am going to the doctor about my knee at 2:00 - hopefully it is nothing major!!!

and to Payless to get Clare's shoes

My mom brought me my nile crocs last night and I think they are really comfy too - you can count me among those who thought crocs were UGLY and now I am never wearing another shoe again!!! :lmao: Will that look silly Julia's wedding?!? :teeth:

I do think the payless crocs are WAY better than the regular ones that I tried on - I hate walking without them now - and I wore them to work last night and everyone said how cute they were!!!

Julie - how is the charming going?!?!?!

OOOHHHHH!!! An annual event I could go for that!!! Something to look forward to every year!

Yeeeessssss!! Since I hope to have my DVC and AP's by Christmas, I might be able to talk my DH into this for next year. Annual events at WDW for the DDA!!!!! I mean after all, I'm getting free airline tickets regularly through Hilton Honors so it would probably only be the room, food & extras. And I'd have to eat anyway so really it is only the room & extras.

When is our trip next year so I can start looking forward to it???!!! :rotfl:

For those waiting to hear about jobs :grouphug:

For those in yucky job situations :grouphug:

For those who are sick :grouphug: and please let's stop spreading these bugs around!!

I spent the last two days catching up and staying caught up and now have 700 emails to run through!! Geesh.

HAVE AN AWESOME DAY DDA FAMILY!!

Flylady is based on a book called "Sidetracked Home Executives" written by Pam Young & Peggy Jones in the 70's. My friend found it about 7 years ago and shared it with me. I used it at the time to start to get organized. I'm still not quite there. I've been using flylady the last year since it is more technology minded. Both are great resources.

I've also been watching Clean Sweep & Clean House for the last two years to get inspiration to help me. I'm almost there. I need my DDA friends help. My house is finished except for my office. I've been trying to complete it for 6 months now. I just can't seem to get motivated to do it. Here's the help I need. When you see me posting, ask me how much time I've spent on my office!!!

Here's your challenge for today based on Flylady! I want you to do a 27-fling boogie. What is this you ask? "This is a tool to help you declutter your home. Do this assignment as fast as you can. Take a garbage bag and walk through your home and throw away 27 items. Do not stop until you have collected all 27 items. Then close the garbage bag and pitch it. DO NOT LOOK IN IT!!! Just do it. Next, take an empty box and go through your home collecting 27 items to give away. As soon as you finish filling the box, take it to the car. You are less tempted to rescue the items. If you have two of any item and you only need one, get rid of the least desirable."

OK, I'm off to work on my office for several hours.

His name is Chuck Clay, he was a carpenter during the 2003 season I think (it might have been 2002), and he loved it. He and his wife now live in Florida but he still talkes about how much he enjoyed that summer. I thought about applying there the summer right out of undergrad a scenic artist but was planning my wedding and didn't want to have to do that long distance. Someday, if I can ever take an extended leave from work, I really want to spend a summer there or Santa Fe Opera as scenic artist. My DH could even come, he's a sound tech and works for Barbizon Lighting. Of course, having done 2 shows in the last 2 years getting hired might be hard! :rolleyes1 Oh well, I'll get back in the swing of things eventually. I got my degree in order to become an Imagineer...I'm starting to think Grad School is in order soon.

I hope you guys enjoy that cake. It is seriously excellent.

Nice meeting you Glynis!!!! :cheer2:

You guys ought to do a summer trip to see a few shows! That would get you all fired up to get back in the swing.

It would be so cool to be an Imagineer! However, I don't think I have the brain for it! I'm meant to enjoy what the Imagineers create!

Of course I'll tell my DDA family as soon as I get home!

I wish we lived closer too! You sound like so much fun and from what you've posted before your cooking sounds incredible!

Well, it's getting better, but I have to admit that DH had to choke down some really questionable meals to get to this point. My mom never taught me how to cook, so I kind of had to teach myself. Now, I cook with my kids, so they'll know how to take care of themselves when they are out on their own.

Maybe the DDA WDW trip will have to become an annual event :thumbsup2

Now that's the best idea I've heard all day!!!
:cheer2:

Afternoon, y'all! Rees finally slept well last pm. Didn't get up until 11am, so I think his body is trying to catch up. BK is really coughing, but seems to be ok with cough meds. Taking the kids to the park this afternoon to play. It's a beautiful day.

Any thoughts on changing my Donalds B'fast from 8:30 to 8am so that we can start AK right at opening?

Also, CP b'fast vs dinner. B'fast is at 8:05 so we get to go into the park early, good picture ops, done at opening vs dinner at 6:35pm which would be a good way to wind down the day and be done right when Wishes starts and just go to the porch of CP to watch Wishes?

Thought and opinion appreciated.

ETA: Kate, hope your doctor's appt goes well. Marti, your friend is in my prayers and hope Hunka is feeling better today.

Clean Sweep is actually a bad show for me! It makes me feel good about my amount of clutter...which is a lot. I had to stop watching it because I started telling my husband that I didn't have a clutter problem compared to these people...he thinks I'm nuts... :rotfl2:

OMG I was like :rotfl2: when I read this. Why would they take the desks? What did they expect the kids in that class to sit on?

They took everything that wasn't nailed down or attached to the walls. It was incredible! Luckily, I got the janitor and the secretaries on my side in the first couple of days and they found me everything I needed. The only thing I didn't get back were my new set of textbooks. I ended up using books that were from the 1950's. I can't tell you how horrible it was to assign homework out of them! I can look back and laugh now, but I was not laughing then, I can tell you!
