Oh, I meant to add that I would accept a home made Dole Whip in payment :rotfl: :rotfl: .

Now that we know how to make them - anybody can come over for some Dole Whips. When can I expect a crowd??

Can I just tell you that there is nothing I hate more than having to make major life changing decisions! However, it seems like I am going to have to suck it up and work this out. It's just crazy how everything can change do fast.

Two weeks ago today I went to an intro meeting for a cohousing community that some old roommates of mine were helping to plan and build. It was wonderful and we were starting to figure out how to make it work so that we could afford to buy in there.

A few days later, I find out that my job is changing. I had been working for two departments 50/50. As part of my agreement when going back to work for the company that laid me off two months after letting me transfer to CA and two months before Terra was born, my work arrangement was 50% in the office (8-12) and 50% at home. Well, now I am being moved 100% in the pricing department (handling invoices, etc). Thanks to the folks at Enron and the ensuing changes in the financial world, our auditors want all pricing work done in the office...no home work. So, I was given two choices 40 hours a week, all in the office, plus pick up two new sales reps...or...30 hours a week, all in the office, keeping my current reps. Either way, I don't get home until at least 4pm daily.

This is all not good for several reasons. The most obvious, I DO NOT like the idea of missing ALL of Terra's day. Then there is the whole part where Phil is pretty much continuously on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I don't know what taking care of her for 10 hours a day (with commute) is going to do.

Soooo....Now for the decisions. Half of the reason we came back to Boston was because of the work arrangement. Now that is gone. Plus, we've been here a year and a half now and I have NO friends. I just can't seem to meet people. The moms the neighborhood are completely non-social. They just let their kids go out and play and are never out too. Terra's "friends" are all at least 7yo and mostly 10-11yo.

I THINK that our best bet is going to be to move to St. Louis to be near my family. I definitely like the idea of being able to see them more often. My niece is 4yo and my nephew is 20mo so Terra would have built in playmates. Plus, my sister just told me yesterday that she is almost certainly pregnant....YEAH!!! The downsides are that Phil won't be all that thrilled with the area as it is so conservative and that we will need a car again.

The problem is that I hate to move us AGAIN (we moved to CA in 02 thinking it would be best to live near my IL's for awhile, then back to MA in 04 when that turned out not to have done any good) only to find out we've made a mistake again. Plus, once we get there, it will be harder to leave again as we'll have to leave my family behind.

Okay, so I'm sorry for such a long rambling post, but I just don't know what will be best in the long run. Plus, I hate looking for jobs so that makes it harder. I guess I just wish that the "perfect job" (if I even knew what that was) would pop up making the answer clear. I guess I should just get to my original thought, which was that I could really use prayers and pixie dust for the wisdom to make the right decision. I guess I shoul throw "and quickly" in there too. If we're going to go, I would really love if we could be there before the baby was born in Dec. Plus, (to being it on topic a little bit ;) ) I've got plane tickets for Disney to buy! :teeth: I can't very well buy plane tickets until I know where I'll be flying out of.

Thanks to anyone who actually made it this far through the post! (I get a little rambly when I'm stressed or tired and I'm pretty much both right now so I guess you're all out of luck tonight.

I would move back to St. Louis. Having family close by to help with Terra would be wonderful. I can't imagine not having my family nearby to help out. Jobs are just that, a job and I'm sure you can find something to do. If you don't have any friends in Boston then there isn't really any reason to stay. With no close friends and a job that you are bound to hate because you are forced to take it is a sure fire recipe for disaster. :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug: . I hope the the answer comes to you swiftly and absolute.

Try to get some sleep tonight, and start tomorrow over with a clear head.

Amy :)

Well, now that Terra has finally decided to go to sleep, I can do just that. Good night all! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. I have a feeling we'll be heading to StLouis, but I'll start the job search with several areas.

It wasn't the same without you around Amy - I don't dare give Kate a hard time without you around!!

Well the rain seems to have stopped----for now!!! I just went out side and our neighborhood looks very WET!!! There is still some thunder and lightning! The houses close to us look like they may have some flooding!!! It rained very hard and was very windy, a few houses in our neighborhood are very prone to floods in the basements!! Keep your fingers crossed that no one has a mess in the morning!!!

Carli is still up :guilty: !!!

Here is a costume idea that may not even be plausible, but I thought I'd share. Kate and others have made designs using familiar parts of mickey, like his shorts, hands, shoes and ears. It would be neat to see a family wearing all black (shorts or pant, whatever), but make the top (shirt area) into one of the familiar items. I don't mean making T-shirts with the object on it, but actually make a shirt that looks like Mickey's yellow shoe or his red shorts or his mouse ears. I know it would be unique and if done properly it could be cool as those nights can be very hot. So all you creative minds, What do you think?

our wind is howling and the weather radio is going off but no sirens!!

Julie - that sucks that you were there that year - it was so awful -

we used to go every year but since they moved to the smaller ballpark it is so hard to get tickets -

so next year - you can go with me - as long as we get tickets - Steve always wants to go with me - isn't that sweet! Last year was the best opening day ever - gorgeous weather and a walk off home run!!!

Steve wants to go to one of next weekends games to see Sean Casey - and I have to admit that as long as the weather is good I want to go - I love Sean Casey and cried the day he put the full page ad in the Enquirer thanking the city for embracing him - he is such a class act - I wish there were more ball players like him -he will always be one of my favorites -

and I will even root for him over the Reds - the only way you will EVER see me root for a Pittsburgh team!!!

Good Night Everybody!!! I am going to sleep in hopes that my DD will get the idea!!!

See you all tomorrow!!!

Julie

I think I look small in some pictures and HUGE in others! It's amazing how different shirts/poses can change the perspective! :teeth:

Amy :)

I'm only through a few pictures (about 30 before it locked up on me) and I think you look great. In the white shirt you barely looked pregnant at all!!!

Do you mean the soft bendable foam sheets? I think that would work too. One could be a shoe, another his shorts, another the hand, another the ears and Minnie's Bow for Brantley-Kate. I would definately stand out. I remember seeing people wearing blown up fast passes made out of poster board last year. That also stood out.

Our sirens are located at Sharonville Elementary in our backyard, so they're extra loud, but Alyssa is obviously exhausted from her busy weekend. Of course, she also slept through the three marching bands that went past right before the Share a Dream Come True Parade last week! ;)

:wizard: to Carli...I hope she settles down for you soon!

Amy :)

What does a tornado warning sound like? Is it like a fire horn?? Hope you guys are ok.

Are you trying to make me jealous???

I took Carli to the parade last year and it was my first ever!!! We had a great time, I wish we were going again this year!!

We should all do a DDA Red's game sometime, I bet we could get a group rate!!

I Love Sean Casey, I wanted to have Kyle meet him SO bad! He is a great role model, have you ever heard the story about the time he was hit in the eye/head (not sure which) and he was temporarily blinded for a while, that story made a big impression on me!!! I have also been drawn to him because I heard he was in the seminary, which is another reason I wanted Kyle to meet him. We always call Kyle-Father Kyle because he really would make a wonderful priest!! Just so you know I am not an athlete chasing groupie, I was always just very impressed w/ Sean Casey as a person, I am really going to miss him!!!

We moved 400 miles away from our families - where we were born and bred. It was a very different way of life upstate and a very difficult decision. But Matt was the #1 reason we moved and we are glad we did before he got any older. (6 at the time). Life has a way of throwing you curveballs, do the best you can to field them - that's all you can do. Good luck, I wish I had more to help you with.

Don't you have them??!?!?!?! How would you know if severe weather was coming?!?!

The sound like a fog horn continuously blowing but they turn around as they blow so it has the same effect as a siren would
