Ok girls - gather round we need to write some pros and cons for Kristine before she gives herself a MAJOR headache!

September
Pros
Free dining
MNVSHP
Warm enough to swim

Cons
Hurricane season

December
Pros
MVMCP
Christmas
Snow
Osbourne lights
Candlelight processional

Cons
Cooler weather
not good for swimming

Come on everyone fill in the blanks...

This is a good list. Kristine, since you said you guys went for MNSSHP last year, I would definitely change it up and go in December. I've been going to WDW just about every other year of my entire life, and hand's down, early December will now be my favorite time to go. Of course, my next favorite thing beyond Disney is Christmas, and WDW is just amazing at the holiday times with all the decorations, special events, etc.

My parents also traveled with us this year at December, and my dad's comment was "I wish we'd known about this a long time ago." They now only want to go back at the holiday times - no more hot, sticky days for them!

And didn't you say the free dining was not as good of a deal as you'd thought?

Not trying to play devil's advocate, but if you can't do both, I wouldn't choose Sept. over Dec.

When we left Disney, Chuck didn't sound like he was interested in going back again any time soon. We were watching a special this morning about cruises. He brought up that we ate well at Disney and that we didn't eat much at POR this year. Obviously, he is still thinking about Disney himself.

I brought up that when we stay at SSR in December, they have a neat place to eat. He said that he needed numbers. He wrote out what he wants to see for numbers. I was already half way there with the spreadsheet. He has some other things he wants to see but is ready to discuss it. I'm so excited.

how exciting! talking is a good start, IMO!

We have gone to WDW for 10 Christmases now and have always stayed a week or more. Last year Bob and the girls (especially the girls) indicated that they would like to go to WDW but for less nights. I am OK with this as I am aware that somewhere out there we can find other places to spend time and money on Christmas vacations.

(I know that this is blasphemy and I hesitate to say it too loudly)

That being said... we have pretty much decided to drive from Virginia this trip and when we leave WDW we will go to Savannah, GA or Charleston, SC. We have never been to either place and have all expressed interest in both those cities in the past.

Do any of my DDA friends have any thoughts on either of these two beautiful localities for 3-4 days in late December? Who am I kidding... of COURSE you will have opinions! :rotfl:

Ugh! I was going to say that Savannah is one of my favorite cities in the entire country (well, that I've been to  ) but then Charleston is the other! I guess I'm no help, but whichever you decide let me know... and I'll share my favorite spots

All this talk of Crocs and Airwalks had me thinking too. I actually tried on a pair Crocs yesterday and was impressed. I think that I may have to detour by Payless today while we're in the city and try them on.

A question on sizing for anyone with experience...I wear a size 10 normally. When I tried on the Large Crocs (W10-11) my toes kept bumping the end. Because slip on shoes bother me, I need the strap back. Was the strap too tight and I should loosen it or should I get the XL? The XL that I tried on looked large, but felt fine...not too big.

I think the payless crocs are more comfortable - I hate the bumps in the sole fo the crocs and the payless ones don't have them!

I wear an 8 and bought an 8 and had the EXACT same problem but the 9's were too big - I threw them in the dryer for about 3-5 minutes put them on hot and let them form to my feet - I made sure I stretched the strap a little -

they are SO comfortable - I hate shoes but put these on instead of going barefoot today!!

That's just typical! I actually picked up a pair in payless last trip and said to DH- -oh look Crocs rip offs... did I buy a pair... no!

Now I'm trying to fork out 30 pounds for a pair of crocs and the website won't load

I really want a pair after all this talk about them...

I am so tired - I forgot about Daylight savings during our late night last night!!!!

We had to work the nursery at church and the strangest thing happened -

Julia is in Sinday school during mass and Nick in the nursery - we arrived early for the nursery and kept julia with us until about 10 minutes before mass started at 10:00

there was NO ONE in her class - no teachers no kids (all the other rooms had kids)

9:55 - NO ONE in her class

10:00 - NO ONE in her class

10:03 - NO ONE in her class

so I went to the coordinator and they had someone stay with her

about 10 minutes in - Julia comes in the nursery SOBBING - no one ever showed up and they put her in another class

she only wanted to be in her class - so I went down to get her folder - still no one in her room and she saw a little boy from her class at school across the hall - so I asked the teachers if she could stay in there (she said she wanted to be with Tyler)

about 3 minutes later she comes in the nursery crying - she only wanted to be in her class

how odd is it that not another student or teacher (she has 3) showed up - and it really upset her - she missed class today and she loves it

Clare -

how much is 30 pounds in $?

The payless shoes are $13.99 - I can go buy you a pair and mail them to you - and you would pay WAY less than the price you are looking at!!

Maybe you're not the only one who forget about "spring forward" and everyone else turned up an hour later?

Poor thing I can see how this would be very upsetting!!!! I can't believe that no one ever showed up or called!!!!

I have trouble w/ Carli in that because she knows that I am downstairs teaching, she wants to stay w/ me and help! She can't do this because she is also in Sunday School classes upstairs, she does not like this arrangement!!! I feel like it is a bad example to just let her stay w/ me. One time and one time only did she fake being sick during class and her teacher brought her down to me- we (carli & I) had a nice long talk after that happened!!!

How many more classes do you have left??? I can't wait to be done and be able to go to any mass that we want to, preferably Sat afternoon. so that we can sleep in! Dave on the other hand will probably want to go to 9:30 still because that is the mass that his parents go to and he will get free breakfast too!!! OH well he and Kyle the early bird can go and let me and Carli sleep in, sleep is much more important to me that food!!

I forgot about Daylight Savings Time too until we got home, Dave remembered to set the clock forward but he forgot to set the alarm!!!! Luckily I woke up and looked at the clock, and jumped out of bed. I hate to wake up like that !!!!

I am trying to go through my house right now and get stuff together for my 1st ever yard sale!!! I have a ton of stuff to selll but I don't know where to begin!!!! I hope it is a big success, that will be great vacation money!!! Who am I kidding I have to pay for Kyle's first communion first which is going to end up costing a fortune!!!

See-ya Later!!! I keep stopping for Dis breaks  !!!

I think £30 is about $50 so if the payless ones are that cheap it probably would be much more sensible! I doubt it would cost $30 to post them...

You're not the first person to offer to post me some... and thinking about it now it would be much cheaper... especially as you all say the payless ones are even better than the real thing!

Do they come in a range of colours? I just looked on the website and saw black pink and blue - I quite fancied some sage green ones but black would be my second choice - I'd like to wear them to work so want to start with some sensible colours!

Oh Kate that would be really cool if you don't mind going to the trouble - shall I pm you my size and address?

:goodvibes

ETA - were you still looking for some for Julia as there are quite a lot on ebay at the moment

It was weird today! I was in toddler SS and we had 2 kids in there! The last couple weeks they've had 14-18. Must have been a lot of oversleeping this morning. :confused3
