Oh, one more thing I need to share. Evidently Bob told his mom all about our trip in October...bits of information about shows, attractions and stuff. So she says to me "since you go so often have you been able to figure out how they do some of the things?" Before I had a chance to answer Bob says "It's Disney magic, Mother." He just might be 'getting it.' :goodvibes

I went to Circuit City this morning and it was CRAZY!!!!! I just wanted a few Nintendo DS games and I was going to get my friend the SD card for her nephew who she bought a camera for and a camera case for $2.99. They only had something like 3 cashiers. I stood in line for at least 20 minutes and it didn't move and they didn't even have all the games I wanted so I gave up. There were 3 police cruisers in the parking lot and the cops were speaking to someone.:confused3

So I left and went to Kohl's. I went a bit crazy there. I bought myself a lot of stuff. I never go shopping for me. I got myself 3 pairs of chinos. I've been wearing the same two pairs I bought after I had Lizzy. I can't find anything I like quite as much but am afraid they won't last much longer. I had gained a lot of weight after I had Joe but I finally lost it after Emma was 1 so I've been wearing these pants for about 5 years. I also bought 2 pairs of jeans, a long sleeve T, turtleneck, long underwear top, PJ's and 2 bras. I got Joe a couple of track pants and a pair of pants that can be made into shorts and a pair of sleep pants. I got some games, color wonder stuff for the kids, a pan for my SIL, and a couple of throws. It was nice and "civilized" there with lots of cashiers. And now I've got all this "Kohl's Cash" so I've got to go back.:)

I got my niece's DD (she's 6 months younger than Emma) a Very Hungry Caterpiller puzzle with colorforms, and a Very Hungry Caterpiller game. After Kohl's I was waiting for Barnes & Noble to open to buy the Very Hungry Caterpiller book when someone told me about this nice new toy store that was open. I found a Very Hungry Caterpiller coloring book and decided to get that instead of the book that she likely already has. I also found a great "thing" for her very hard to buy for father.

Then I went to the Children's Place in the same mall and got Lizzy a pair of cords, sweater, long sleeve T, and tights all for $24.

This mall had free coffee and pastries too.:thumbsup2 It was great since I hadn't had anything. And the pastries were from a really nice bakery too!

Then I went to Staples and even though I got there after 10am they sold me the SD card for $14.99.:thumbsup2

Congrats on your finds! You must be a lot of fun to be with on Black Friday! I imagine you're a lot of fun to be with anyday!!!!!

Congrats on your new sewing machine!!!!!!

I found a Disney puzzle at Kohl's that is ball shaped when completed. I think It will be a fun challenge for Hunter :thumbsup2

We're off to Ottawa to visit the inlaws for Thanksgiving. I'll probably be on some, but I never can quite predict the plans there. Usually it's pretty laid back, but if I don't pop back on have a great weekend! :goodvibes

Have fun. Do they know the Big News yet?

I liked all the festive siggys when I got on here this a.m. too. I am working on mine as it needed to be resized a couple of times. Now my cookies have the larger size "locked-in" and I don't know if it is small enough yet or not! :confused3

I love your new siggy. Very nice :thumbsup2

We also made carmelized corn for Thanksgiving, but I added a little maple syrup too. Yummy :thumbsup2

Jen just called and he Grandfather passed away at 7 AM. She sounds ok and said her family is doing ok, keeping busy. She was working on a photo tribute to him. She is still at the shore, but hopes to log on soon and update us all.

Here is a message that DS wanted me to post

NicksChristmasMessage.jpg

love it Nick

She has a whole bin of stuffed animals that needs to be sorted. Anyone know of any place to donate them too? .

Not sure if you got an answer yet, Tammi--but i know firehouses and police stations take them--they give them to kids after accidents ,etc...Also, chek a hospital maybe

Deb-thank you so much for posting all the updates. It was nice talking to you and Chris yesterday though.

Grandpa passed very peacefully. My mom actuallyc alled my dad around 6:50 and told him notto rush down because grandpa was the same. I took a shower and came in around 6:45...Mom and i were just chatting next to the bed when werealized his breathing was a bit different. So we held his hands, told him how much we loved him, and talked about funny stories /memories. Right around 7am, he passed away. We sat withhim for a few minutes, then called the nurses is. They confirmed that he had passed and then we called my grandma, uncle, dad, and brother.

I am so glad that i got tobe there with him ,but i am having such a hard time today. I am trying to be strong for the family and when i talk to people on the phone ,but right now, i just cant help it . I just sorted through pictures for thep hoto collage and that was so hard. I know that he is better off right now-no suffering! I just cant believe my grandfather is gone.

My mom, grandma, and uncle are at the funeral home right now making arrangements..were thinking its eithergoing to be Monday/Tuesday or Tuesday/Wednesday. Work is letting me take off whatever time i need, so i am thankful for that.

T\he women we dealt with in hospice were absolutely wonderful. They hugged andh eld us when they came in and saw he had died. One nurse sat with me when i couldnt sleep last night. They were amazing women.

Thank you so much for being there for me guys

:grouphug: Jen I know that you need to be strong for your family, but you don't for us. Lean on us and let us know what you need. We are here for you. Will you be staying on the coast or will you head home after the arrangements are made.

I need to do my hair and run some errands. I've got a few things to return and need to pick up a few groceries. Chris said he'll "give" Colby a nap today :lmao:

Thanks Deb-I am pretty sure we are staying here til at least tomorrow. If the viewing/funeral are Monday/Tuesday--we will probably come back here Monday morning. If it is Tuesday/Wednesday-ill probably come down Monday and just take that day off of work too. Untilthey get back from the funearl home, were mostly playing it by ear.

Im going to go try to lay down for a bit--3 hours sleep doesnt work well for me..

Jen, :grouphug: :grouphug:

My heart goes out to you. I am so glad you had the women in the Hospice with you. I am sure making the collage will be hard, but hopefully you will have some good memories while you are making it.

It seems trite but I am just going to ditto Deb and add some of my own

My signature picture is courtesy of LadyLuca, although she doens't know I am using it this way. ;) We used this design for our T-shirts two years ago.

We still have some fried corn left over. I am looking forward to it again tonight for dinner! Hmmmm... I wonder if anyone else would want to try it with maple syrup???

I am so sorry, Jen. Bob said to tell you "it is such a shame" that you lost him at Thanksgiving. You are in our thoughts.

Elizabeth not sure what type of games you want for the Wii, but this place has some on sale:

http://www.gamestop.com/default.asp?sect=1289

Thanks! I don't know what type of games we want, either!:rotfl2:

Jen, good thoughts for you and your family.

Elizabeth Your part of Christmas Vacation is coming up. The part where the cat eats through the Christmas Lights and fries. That would be Arabella if the lights were plugged in

It's Aurora who eats wires, though Arabella probably would if the thought occurred to her. We watched "Elf" last night.

Very nice, Deb. That looks like a lot of work. I'm glad you had some help. ;)

Looks good! We can never have anything like that because of the cats.

I cannot wait to see the pictures from that long-awaited camera!! :rotfl:

You and me both!;)

Nick what a wonderful design, Merry Christmas to you!

Tammi your kids are really gong to be surprised when you tell them about Bob & his dd!

Jennifer enjoy your weekend with the inlaws!

Elin nice to see you posting, sounds like you had a relaxing Thanksgiving :goodvibes

Bernadette sounds like you had fun at Kohls!

What a lovely recap, Janet! I think I will borrow it!:rotfl:

Elizabeth- Tell your DH congrats on the camera. Eric said he'll be over to play with your Wii (that sounds a little strange :rotfl:). He choose the grill over the Wii. Can you let me know when tickets for the King Tut go on sale. I do believe Emma and I will be trekking to Dallas for a weekend.

The exhibit opens next October. If you Google King Tut Dallas you can probably find where I signed up to get the e-mail for advance ticket purchases. It doesn't cost anything to sign up.
I think Eric and DH would get along swimmingly. Maybe we should leave them at home to play Wii while the rest of us go see Tut!:rotfl2:

Not sure if you got an answer yet, Tammi--but i know firehouses and police stations take them--they give them to kids after accidents ,etc...Also, chek a hospital maybe

Places around here are VERY picky about stuffed animals being NEW when you donate them. Hopefully you can find a place to accept them!:thumbsup2

Jen, :grouphug: :grouphug:

Jen, I am so sorry! Please know we are here to help you get through this!

We just came back from "Enchanted". We all liked it a lot!:)

Mother just phoned and said they are going out to lunch and then they will be here. All of a sudden I feel like there is an axe embedded in my skull. We were JUST in the mall 10 minutes ago! The shops in that mall are WAAAAYYY too exclusive for my sister to be shopping in. She says she needs a dress for "winter formal" which she may or may not actually attend. But I am sure she wants to get a dress here so she can go tell her classmates she went to DALLAS to buy her dress because the shops in Kansas just aren't good enough for her. She is quite an elitist for someone who is about 1 step away from being on welfare.

Mother believes that nobody should ever tell my sister "No" for any reason. Her father DIED, you know! My sister was the biggest manipulator when he was alive - she played both parents against each other until someone gave in to her whining. Now Mother is reinforcing the belief that my sister is entitled to anything she wants, regardless of whether it is practical and affordable. And I am the outcast.:sad2:

My mother has a life insurance policy on me from when I was little. My father is the beneficiary. He's dead. Been dead for 18 months. I have asked my mother MULTIPLE times to let us take over the policy and name DH as beneficiary, but she keeps dragging her feet. She made a comment the other day that as long as she retains ownership of the policy she can be sure it is being paid!  EXCUSE ME? DH and I pay our life insurance bills JUST FINE, thank you! And all of our other bills, too, come to think of it! So what was that comment? Is she planning to hire a hit man so she can collect on the policy? She isn't even the beneficiary, so if I drop dead right now I don't see how that would be useful to her! Sometimes her behavior is so bizarre I just can't even begin to wrap my brain around it. :sad2:

Just an update--we found out that the viewing is going to be Tuesday at 5 and the funeral is Wednesday. I ended up taking off from work monday, tuesday and wednesday for now. That way i can be here to help out. If i need more, i can take more ,but trying not to since it is unpaid.

Were definitely going to be at the shore for the night..we are all (me, mom, dad, brother, his girlfriend, grandmom, uncle, aunt, cousin) going out to dinner tonight, which is what grandma wants..so thats what she gets!

Im headed out in a bit to go to Staples to get the photos copied so that we can start cutting them out tonight and ic an put them on the board when i get hometomorrow.

Ill probablybe on and off here all day..im so glad i have the interenet to talk to you guys today

Whatever you have in purple is cut off for me.

I figured someone would notice if it was too big and cut it off. It is still cut off on my pages, but if Janet says it looks OK it must finally be the right size! Thanks. :goodvibes
