WOW!I know that I promised further explanation of this, and Theresa has prompted me to do so! First of all, it is Patrick who has been invited to play in January. You all probably remember that he is the young man I took to California last summer for music camp and the National Concert.
We are headed to the Anaheim Convention Center on January 16-20 for the annual NAMM Show. The National Association of Music Merchants
holds an annual convention there with more than 80,000 participants.
It is not open to the public, but attended by some of the biggest names in the business. You may know the NAMM Foundation because of their connection to Disney through High School Musical. They are one of the sponsors of the grant program allowing high schools across the country to produce and perform "High School Musical" in their schools. One of our local high schools won one of these coveted grants! They have also teamed with Sesame Workshop to produce a float for the 2008 Tournament of Roses Parade.
From the website: The NAMM Show is always an unforgettable event, with more than 80,000 registrants packing the aisles of the Anaheim Convention Center to check out the latest gear. The show is a star studded event with endorsing musicians such as Carlos Santana, Sheila E, Stevie Wonder, Dweezil Zappa, Keanu Reeves and Korn, adding to the spectacle as they pose for pictures and talk shop with show attendees. From CBS to CNN and E! Entertainment Television, journalists from throughout the world come to cover the new instruments unveiled.
Yamaha Corporation (of which YMES - the music education division - is a part) is one of the largest exhibitors. They invited Patrick to perform his award-winning composition on Friday and Saturday at their main booth in the Convention Center. Any of you familiar with the Disneyland area (known as the Anaheim Resort area) know the Anaheim Convention Center. It is huge and right across Katella Ave. from DL.The NAMM Show will take up the ENTIRE Convention Center...

We will stay at the Anaheim Marriott, within walking distance of DL.
So, any free time I have will be spent getting my Disney fix.
Patrick will be rehearsing two days and then performing two days while we are there. Last year Yamaha had a link on their website to a streamed video of the performances. If they do that again this year, I will be "Live from Anaheim" and will post a link!!

Just a quick post to wish y'all a Happy Turkey Day!
And to let you know I added a post to my trip report: http://designsbymollymoo.com/blog/2007/11/21/the-saga-of-the-rental-car/

OK. So my mother, my sister, and the pig are off to my other sister's house. Which is where they SHOULD have been to begin with.![]()
Right now they are supposed to come back over on Saturday. I will take my sister to the mall, and my mother is supposed to spend time with DS, just the 2 of them. We'll see if that actually happens.
I have my poppyseed bread cooling, and the Jello for my other dessert is in the fridge to set before I stir in the mandarin oranges. I also got another bookcase dusted.![]()
We got a call that some other friends are on their way to town now, so we'll go see them on Friday. DS LOVES to play with their DD & DS so I am excited that they will be here. I wish they lived closer. This is the brother of DH's friend, so when we go see them we'll see his parents, too. I know holidays are sad for his mom. She kind of likes to have all of the family and friends around. I guess I should throw in a pan of brownies or something to take over there. I can do that tomorrow, though.![]()
Milestone!!!
ETA: SHE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let the good ol' times return!!Hope your phone stays quiet! Enjoy a nice stress free restaurant meal on Thanksgiving.I still don't know if I have to work tomorrow. They said that we will get a call if we don't have to go in. So far, no call!![]()
We normally do Thanksgiving at our house, but since MIL works at Wal-mart, and DW works retail too, they both have to be up at the crack of dawn to face the crowds! I think to simplify everything we will be eating Thanksgiving dinner in a restaurant. Not my idea, but sometimes my ideas don't count!
Have a great day DDA!
Glad you've escaped without the pig! Hope your DS has some quality with his Grandmother on Saturday.OK. So my mother, my sister, and the pig are off to my other sister's house. Which is where they SHOULD have been to begin with.![]()

Hi, everyone. Just stopping in to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! Safe travels to all, and enjoy your families (if you can tolerate them...)![]()
Vicki, Marci, Heidi and anyone else remembering lost loved ones, may you have peace.![]()
Jen, you and your grandfather and family are in my prayers.![]()
Glynis, I will be praying for you especially on Friday with your grandmother's funeral.![]()

But I knew it was coming, I offered to bring those 2 things for Thanksgiving, and I have made those things before so I know how they turn out. Since I was off early yesterday and I didn't have to work today it wasn't a big deal to get those things made. They aren't terribly labor intensive. They change constantly and Goofy was on her favorites list recently so I thought it was on her exchange list too. She was really excited to see it and shethe slinky action.
I'm thinking Katie but I'm probably wrong!!
And we love the socks and bib and all the other goodies! I had those socks in my cart at Target and put them back, must've known she was gonna get them! Thanks so much
No, I'm sorry that I missed that. I did buy his new CD. I love it. Where did you see Marie with her brothers last night?
She is on Dancing With The stars. She somehow made it to the final 3![]()
Oh, poor Donny & Marie and their family. I didn't know they had lost their dad. I just saw Donny crying. So sad but loving!
Yeah. It's been a tough time for the family. Olive (their mom) is not in the best of health, either. I went to the viewing with my uncle (he's been their neighbor forever). It was a really tough time, but it was nice to see the family together. They really are a loving family. What you see is really how they are. They may be scattered, but they rally around each other.
