Denise congrats on the personal milestone also.

I agree cute new siggy pic. :)

Last night was great! He was a little upset at bedtime, but settled right down and slept until 11:30am this morning. He has eaten oatmeal today, and so far no problems!

We wish you all a very blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving. This year, more than ever, we will be counting the many blessings given to us by God and thanking Him for His faithfulness and presence in our lives.

I am up entirely too early...so here i am :)

Im working then probabaly headed back to hospice to see grandpa after work...Apparently, the nurses said it may be sometime today, so if that is the case, ill be leaving work early and not sure when im getting back..so have a good day all

Take care of yourself, Jen. We'll all be thinking of you and praying for your family today. Lots of  from us as well.

Bernadette- I am sad that we won't get to meet in January. But every summer we go to Mass to visit my cousins so we can plan something then.
Yes we will!

Luggage has been ordered! I went with the 5 piece plum colored set. If I don't like it I will return it. That was giving me a headache lol
I'm sure you'll love it!

Tia, that was an impressive recap! :goodvibes
:thumbsup2 :worship: :worship:

I know that I promised further explanation of this, and Theresa has prompted me to do so! First of all, it is Patrick who has been invited to play in January. You all probably remember that he is the young man I took to California last summer for music camp and the National Concert.

We are headed to the Anaheim Convention Center on January 16-20 for the annual NAMM Show. The National Association of Music Merchants
holds an annual convention there with more than 80,000 participants.
It is not open to the public, but attended by some of the biggest names in the business. You may know the NAMM Foundation because of their connection to Disney through High School Musical. They are one of the sponsors of the grant program allowing high schools across the country to produce and perform "High School Musical" in their schools. One of our local high schools won one of these coveted grants! They have also teamed with Sesame Workshop to produce a float for the 2008 Tournament of Roses Parade.

From the website: The NAMM Show is always an unforgettable event, with more than 80,000 registrants packing the aisles of the Anaheim Convention Center to check out the latest gear. The show is a star studded event with endorsing musicians such as Carlos Santana, Sheila E, Stevie Wonder, Dweezil Zappa, Keanu Reeves and Korn, adding to the spectacle as they pose for pictures and talk shop with show attendees. From CBS to CNN and E! Entertainment Television, journalists from throughout the world come to cover the new instruments unveiled.

Yamaha Corporation (of which YMES - the music education division - is a part) is one of the largest exhibitors. They invited Patrick to perform his award-winning composition on Friday and Saturday at their main booth in the Convention Center. Any of you familiar with the Disneyland area (known as the Anaheim Resort area) know the Anaheim Convention Center. It is huge and right across Katella Ave. from DL. :goodvibes The NAMM Show will take up the ENTIRE Convention Center...

We will stay at the Anaheim Marriott, within walking distance of DL.
So, any free time I have will be spent getting my Disney fix. :goodvibes

Patrick will be rehearsing two days and then performing two days while we are there. Last year Yamaha had a link on their website to a streamed video of the performances. If they do that again this year, I will be "Live from Anaheim" and will post a link!!
WOW!

OK. So my mother, my sister, and the pig are off to my other sister's house. Which is where they SHOULD have been to begin with.

Right now they are supposed to come back over on Saturday. I will take my sister to the mall, and my mother is supposed to spend time with DS, just the 2 of them. We'll see if that actually happens.

I have my poppyseed bread cooling, and the Jello for my other dessert is in the fridge to set before I stir in the mandarin oranges. I also got another bookcase dusted.:rolleyes1

We got a call that some other friends are on their way to town now, so we'll go see them on Friday. DS LOVES to play with their DD & DS so I am excited that they will be here. I wish they lived closer. This is the brother of DH's friend, so when we go see them we'll see his parents, too. I know holidays are sad for his mom. She kind of likes to have all of the family and friends around. I guess I should throw in a pan of brownies or something to take over there. I can do that tomorrow, though.:)

I'm glad to hear that the pig is on his way as well. Sounds like you and the kitchen are getting along well today. The poppy seed bread sounds delicious!

I still don't know if I have to work tomorrow. They said that we will get a call if we don't have to go in. So far, no call!:sad1:

We normally do Thanksgiving at our house, but since MIL works at Wal-mart, and DW works retail too, they both have to be up at the crack of dawn to face the crowds! I think to simplify everything we will be eating Thanksgiving dinner in a restaurant. Not my idea, but sometimes my ideas don't count!

Have a great day DDA!
Hope your phone stays quiet! Enjoy a nice stress free restaurant meal on Thanksgiving.

Glad you've escaped without the pig! Hope your DS has some quality with his Grandmother on Saturday.

Are you feeling OK today? Sounds like a lot of cooking for you.;)

Have a nice day Friday!!!

Hi, everyone. Just stopping in to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! Safe travels to all, and enjoy your families (if you can tolerate them...) ;)
Vicki, Marci, Heidi and anyone else remembering lost loved ones, may you have peace.
Jen, you and your grandfather and family are in my prayers. :grouphug:
Glynis, I will be praying for you especially on Friday with your grandmother's funeral. :grouphug:

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!

And now it's back to work for me. I made the two cold pies this morning We also sorted everything for tomorrow and laid out the timeline. I've still got a couple of pies to make tonight and am going to assemble some things stuff for tomorrow. I've also managed to pick up 2 Christmas presents since Borders had a 50% off of hardcovers today and the robe Kassie wants was on sale. Tomorrow I've got to sit down with the Friday ads and figure out what I really need to get. So far I think that I have 3 or 4 stops to make. For now though, it's back to the dining room. I haven't touched it yet today and need to get finished. I think that I'll go ahead and set it for tomorrow as well if I can.

In case I don't make it back...Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!

Chanon - I know I missed you, but Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels.

Denise - Hi. I'm glad Rees is doing better.

Clare - Hi to you too. It's good to see you back again.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Tia. And to everyone! It sounds like you are making progress. I am too. I like this coming home in the middle of the day. I get a lot done! Our pumpkin cookies are frosted. I've got the dough made and chilling for Pecan Cups. The filling mixture is prepared too so all I have to do is put them in a pan and bake. Now I need to think about dinner.

I am amazingly, horribly bored at work....I've been done with work since ohhhhhhhh 12:30 so I am bored senseless. I got in early this morning too (7:30) and I am betting I will not get to leave until 5:rolleyes:

Yes, very good that Mother took the pig with her.;)
I did order a sweater from Victoria's Secret for my sister - all of those codes are still valid, and I am having it shipped directly to her so that worked out great! I had her look at the website and choose the color she wanted.

Bernadette - I have spent a lot of time in the kitchen today.:scared: But I knew it was coming, I offered to bring those 2 things for Thanksgiving, and I have made those things before so I know how they turn out. Since I was off early yesterday and I didn't have to work today it wasn't a big deal to get those things made. They aren't terribly labor intensive.

Tia - The poppyseed bread is in the cookbook as "bread" but it is more like pound cake. It is sweet instead of savory. It makes 2 loaves so DH has already been nibbling on the loaf for us.

They change constantly and Goofy was on her favorites list recently so I thought it was on her exchange list too. She was really excited to see it and she  the slinky action.

Well I am happy she is happy with it!

Which reminds me...

Glynis- Lucy received her package today and I am so bad that I can't remember which kid it's from:confused3 I'm thinking Katie but I'm probably wrong!!

I love the ornament! I'm sure she will too once she realizes what an ornament is ;) And we love the socks and bib and all the other goodies! I had those socks in my cart at Target and put them back, must've known she was gonna get them! Thanks so much :goodvibes

No, I'm sorry that I missed that. I did buy his new CD. I love it. Where did you see Marie with her brothers last night?

When she was dancing her second dance, towards the end she threw herself across the laps of some "gents" in the audience. Those were the brothers.

Apparently, there is some talk of getting Donny to do Dancing with the Stars. Don't know when, but he said he would definitely be interested.

She is on Dancing With The stars. She somehow made it to the final 3 :confused3

Let's just say she has a loyal fan base. She really is the weakest dancer, but her fans are keeping her in this.

Oh, poor Donny & Marie and their family. I didn't know they had lost their dad. I just saw Donny crying. So sad but loving!

Yeah. It's been a tough time for the family. Olive (their mom) is not in the best of health, either. I went to the viewing with my uncle (he's been their neighbor forever). It was a really tough time, but it was nice to see the family together. They really are a loving family. What you see is really how they are. They may be scattered, but they rally around each other.

Glynis, from all I've read Olive passed away in 2004.

Donny has been a correspondent on Entertainment Tonight through DWTS....he is so cute!!!

Awesome Elin! Congratulations to Patrick & to you for being such a wonderful teacher :goodvibes
