Rees had a better day yesterday. He ate popsicles, some ice cream and pudding. Last night they started the formula tube feeds. He tolerated it well, and they got up to 50cc an hour (60 cc is the target). Today, he is off IV fluids and feeds and is supposed to eat what he can and resume the formula g-tube feeds at night. He just vomited some, so they gave him Zofran for the nausea. If he does well today and tonight, we could go home tomorrow!!!!

Hopefully, John will get to bring Davis and Brantley-Kate up to visit later. She is at home vomiting from a migraine, so we're praying it passes soon and she's feeling better. Rees really misses them. Me too!

And for all of you who asked, my mom's hand surgery went well. She was in pain last night but doing well.

happy birthday and belated birthday to jennifer, vicki, chris, and colby.
jen i am sorry about your grandfather. i am going through the same thing with my grandmother she is ready to give up i think. she went to the hospital sunday night and is being treated for heart failure, fluid on the lungs and legs are infected. it is all because she has a prolapsed uterus and doctor doesnt wanna do surgery. i am mad at the doctor because its causing all these problems. Sounds like a great party!

I love how the kids can believe that stuff :goodvibes My girlfriend got married on Emma's 3rd birthday. Emma thought the reception was her party. When she walked into the hall and saw the wedding cake. Her response "Thank you Thank you Mommy for my cake!" :rotfl: It was so cute.

I can top that one. The year that my brother got married Chris, being the best man organized the bachelor party. It ended up being on our anniversary. Somehow I was put in charge of hiring a stripper. Chris tells everyone that I got him a stripper for our anniversary :rotfl: :rotfl:

Jen I'm sorry that it is moving so quickly. We just had a cousin's mother die from a cancerous brain tumor. It was very hard on the Family. They suggested that the family hold one last celebration before she was too ill to enjoy it. They had Thanksgiving a few months early and she was able to enjoy it with them. Be sure to make Thanksgiving extra special this year. You should also so some soul searching and make sure that you have all the answers to any question that you could ever ask. I don't know how many times I've wanted to ask my grandparent's something, but they are all gone now. Childhood stories are irreplaceable and something you can hand down to your children someday.

:teeth:
It took me a minute to get this. I'm a little slow this morning. I was wondering why Tom was in the freezer. :lmao:

I had a day off work yesterday, and my kids had school. I had forgotten how much I miss that. Dh took the day off work, and we went out looking for a new table and chairs set. We didn't find what I really want. The closest one was over $3500, so I may have to rethink this. We also looked at new tvs. He really has done his homework but can't make a decision.

Beth what state are you in?

I found out today that they are pretty sure the cancer has spread throughout the bone and to the brain. He is deteriorating very quickly and the change from just the last few days in amazing. He is slurring his words and its very hard to see him so i had to escape to the computer for a few minutes.

Stephanie, I missed that it was your DGS birthday.

Happy Birthday to him.

My head still feels completely weird. Like I have taken a ton of cold medicine or something. But I am only a tiny bit congested and I haven't taken any meds at all.:confused3

I made DS go to the grocery store with me, which he hates. They had Sara Lee pies B1,G1 so I bought 2. WHY is it that nobody told me the stupid things have to bake for over an HOUR?:scared1: I figured it would be "thaw and slice"! Nope. BAKE, not THAW.:sad2: My pie has 41 minutes left to go. Then I have to figure out how to cool it for another 2 hours without Arabella jumping in the middle of it. (That's when she did to my Halloween cookies. We had one with a perfect Arabella footprint in the center.) I should have just bought a pie at Sam's and been done with it!

I had a VERY interesting visit to my Disney Store today! Somebody returned a Mickey Mouse watch they bought at WDW. It was marked $65. BUT the girls told me returns from the parks are sold at 50% off the marked price. AND I had a coupon from Disney Visa for 20% off. So I got a watch for about $28. I need to see if I can find a pic.
Congrats on the great deal!

Here are some pictures of last weekend. The strike is still on.

Picture160.jpg
Sorry about the strike. Looks like you had a great time anyways!

Here's the recipe for Hello Dolly Pie:

1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 oz) pkg. chocolate chips
1 C. coconut
1 C. chopped pecans (my kids don't like nuts, so I use white chocolate chips)
1/2 C. butter, melted
1 (9-inch) graham cracker crust

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix milk, chocolate chips, coconut, pecans and butter. Put in graham cracker crust. Bake 25-30 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

This really needs ice cream to go along with it!
That sounds yummy!!!!

COOL! All the walls were still up around it when we were there on Monday.

But I'm also going through some real heck at work, and questioning whether it's time to find a new job.
 :wizard: Hope things improve at work and that you get to spend more time with Kyle!

I did! Thank you so much!!! It was nice to read them, plus I wanted them for my news collection. Let me know how much I owe you!
Don’t worry about it. I was happy to do it for you!

Good morning!!

Thanks for the get well wishes. I feel much better today although I have a headache. Last Saturday I lost my voice and it was really bad Sunday and Monday. I didn't feel bad then but by Tuesday my throat was just sore. Wonder if yelling at the kids had anything to do with that:confused3 Now I just have this stupid cough that I think is just from my throat being so dry and strained. Annoying!!
Hope you’re feeling better now! Sounds like what I had at Disney. I’m still not quite 100%. And my poor little Emma still sounds awful. She’s going on 2 weeks with this thing.

Here is the ornament I received from Chanon:

And the extras in the package

I forgot to take pics of the wonderful maps though :rotfl:
CUTE!

Bernadette, the pictures you posted were awesome, as usual! Can't wait to see more!
Thanks! Hope to start a real trip report soon!

Well my tree & ornaments are up. We got a pre-lit tree this year & what a timesaver it has been. I didn't use all my ornaments because it just so much to put up & take down & with me working most days I just don't have the time. I have to put the lights up around the buffet table & around the windows, I also made little trees for the kids rooms.
WOW!!!:worship:

Well, we are booked at Saratoga Springs for Dec. 13-17.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Update on Ree's:

November 16, 2007 at 01:01 PM EST
Yesterday was a long day. Rees really, really hurt and was hungry. Since he couldn't eat, that was a big issue. He actually slept and seems to feel better today. He got to eat 2 popsicles which was a relief. He's on Pedialyte in his g-tube, and they will advance it slowly. Hoping for good progress, but I think we'll be here for a few more days. Our goal is to be home for Thanksgiving.
Continued prayers for that poor little boy! I cannot believe how much he’s been through.

im sorry to hear about your cousin's mother..thats so sad

He said he doesnt want to do thanksgiving dinner this year...he cant sit up or stay awake to enjoy any of it.
Its a good idea bout asking any questions i have--but he is in no shape to talk at all ,let alone answer questions....i just keep hoping this is a bad dream

I was able to purchase the same TV that is on Sale on Black Friday for $999 today for a tiny bit less. The best part is no lines on Black Friday :cool1: I called my Mother and she met me and was able to purchase the washer and dryer that she wanted for the cheapest price she has seen in the 2 months that she has been looking. The also had door prize drawings. Mom won a cordless phone and I won a 2 mug travel set. I managed to buy some groceries in a rush. When I got home Chris asked me about deals one Playstation 3 of course the phones at Sears were turned off at 6 PM so we ended up driving back over. They didn't have any, but Chris won a windup flashlight in the door prize driving. We pick up the tv tomorrow. Of course we don't have a stand to put it on, but that is for another day.
Congrats on your new TV, your Mom’s new w/d and the door prizes.

Guess what!?!?! I'll have my kids for Thanksgiving!!!! :woohoo:
That it great!

August 18-29. I find the later in August the less crowded. My kids don't go back to school until after labor day so this time frame works well. Don't be scared of the heat. The Sunday we were in Epcot (you remember the ice cubes?:rotfl2: ) was about as hot as it was in August to give you an idea.
Janet-I’ve got to agree with Anne Marie-August isn’t so bad. I find the heat easier to take cause I’m a bit used to it at home that time of year as opposed to Oct. I don’t have air fare yet but am planning something like 8/14 to 8/28.

hi everyone-
Just got home--went to the dr after work and have another sinus infection--i give up--cant get rid of these things!

We will be calling hospice this week for grandpa--just wanted to keep ypu updated
Jen, I’m so sorry! Hope you are feeling better now.

Bernadette,

I got my package on Saturday. Thank you so much. :goodvibes
I will post pictures this weekend.
Glad it got there!

I am getting so excited about our Dec. trip :dance3:

I just made ADR's for breakfast at Trails End Buffet followed with Horseback riding. I was hoping to get an early slot for the horseback riding followed with breakfast, but it was booked. I think we will be ok beings it is a guided tour & goes at a slow pace. None of us ride horses, so slow is fine with me lol

I also special ordered a cake for us to have after dinner on Christmas, it is a surprise :santa: I ordered a white cake with white chocolate frosting & chocolate mousse filling, yum!
You’re going to have so much fun! I haven’t had breakfast at Trails End but lunch was great. So nice & quiet there. Quiet can be hard to find at WDW.

Ok I am weird, but the email I received from Disney Shopping has blankets with both Garrett & Riley's name on them. Are they personalizing email ad's now :rotfl:

Too funny!

Hey DDA! I just saw my birthday thread(s) and thought I should stop by and say hello!
Hi Clare! Good luck with your new job!

ETA: This is post 5432 for me! My odometer read 12345 the other day, and I thought of the DDA!
Hi Beth! Cool numbers! I guess I don’t drive too much. I haven’t turned 8,000 on my car yet.

Hi, everyone! I'm just popping in to let you all know I'm about 30 pages back. Sorry I dropped off the face of the earth. We had company all weekend, and then I got really ill on Sunday. Still trying to come back from it! I'll hopefully catch up quickly. If there's anything important I need to know, please PM me!

Chanon this picture is for you

Mia is growing so much!
How cute!

Hunter's conference went pretty well. He got all A's with the exception of a B- in Science. Grade wise this is his worst report card ever. His teacher says that he is doing fine and is ahead of the class in most areas. He had a hard time in science as he couldn't get one concept and it resulted in two zero grades which dropped his overall grade a lot. She thinks that his mind has matured quite enough to grasp the concept yet and doesn't think there is anything that he could have done differently. She is sure that the next concept is something that he will totally get and his grade will improve. She also doesn't believe in pushing kids to get all A's as "nobody knows everything" blah blah blah. There are a couple of little things that he needs to work on like not forgetting things at home and making corrections without constant probing, but overall a good conference.

Colby is watching Meet the Robinson's for the 5th time. Did you all notice Space Mountain in the movie? Chris missed it the first time and had to rewind to see what I was talking about :rotfl: The sign in front of it says Todayland :lmao:
Congrats to Hunter!:woohoo:

Happy Birthday Colby! party: :cake:

Happy Birthday Chris! party: :cake:

Happy Birthday Stephanie's DGS! party: :cake:

Depending on when you cancel them, part of that is true. If you cancel a trip more than 30 days in advance they go back to the same use year and can't be banked, but have no other limitations. If you cancel more closely to your trip, they go into "holding" and have more restrictions.

Congratulations on your purchase, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I want to bring up a point, in case it wasn't made further along...

It does depend on when they're cancelled, and how many points/UY's you're using.

For example, I had to cancel my BIL's studio when they decided they couldn't come this December; I did it around the 33-day mark. They were able to "repurpose" my points so that, instead of them remaining in my 2007 UY and having to be used by 9/30/08 (we have an Oct. UY), they were able to shuffle around the points I was using on my other 2 reservations, and bank those points back into my 2008 UY. This was the scenario that worked best for when my BIL/SIL will take their trip down the road on our points. We had 3 years' points invested in this trip, so that's why the shuffling was possible.

Hope that made sense, Vicki! Congrats again, and happy belated b-day!!! :woohoo:

Oh my goodness thank you all for the wonderful gifts for Virginia and Olivia. Lindsay she is wearing the necklace.

I can't say thank you enough that you all went out of your way on your vacation to send the girls such wonderful stuff.

Deb the reason it took so long is it was "supicious" They told me that any package in a box with stamps on it is thought to be a B-O-M-B.

I'm so glad it arrived, Jennifer! Who knew that sending mail the old-fashioned way was now considered "suspicious"!! :confused3

(Thanks for letting me know about the necklace - I coudn't figure out a way to make it obvious it was in there - not using my brain - and I was worried you might toss the bag w/o looking further. :goodvibes )

I am down the shore with my grandparents. One of the women from hospice was here when i got here and you guys were right, she is wonderful..Seems like a great lady! She ordered a hospital bed and wheelchair and they are being delivered right now. She also got him some medicine that will help keep him comfortable.

I found out today that they are pretty sure the cancer has spread throughout the bone and to the brain. He is deteriorating very quickly and the change from just the last few days in amazing. He is slurring his words and its very hard to see him so i had to escape to the computer for a few minutes.

I wont be staying the night, so ill be home in a little bit-no plans tonight so im sure ill be posting a ton!

Happy Birthday, Colby!

Happy Birthday, Chris!

Happy Birthday, Stephanie's DGS!

Mickey has a little something for each of you...

Hi, DDA!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Mine is crazy busy, but decided to stop for a brief period of sanity while visiting the thread. :goodvibes

I ended up taking yesterday off work - had a couple of different appts., one being at an odd time of day, so since things aren't crazy busy, I took the day off to get some things accomplished. Had to drive Jonathan to the airport, as he went to South Bend, IN this weekend with some friends to see Notre Dame play (which seemed like a great plan before the football season started  ), and then went to get my haircut. While getting it cut, I learned that the girl who highlights it was sick, so that had to be postponed until this a.m. Spent the rest of the afternoon running some random errands, and then I got my box all packed up and on the UPS truck that we're shipping to the Wonder. That's a huge relief to have that thing on its way! Then more laundry last night, and I finally sat down and ordered us trip insurance for this trip. It's one of those things I've just had a mental block about, but I finally sat down and read the policies last night, totaled up what we've pre-paid, so I think we're now set. :thumbsup2

Today - highlights this a.m., followed by a pedicure. Came back home, and took a brief 45 min. nap, as I've been so exhausted and staving off a cold. Now, doing more laundry, and just started cleaning my bedroom/bathroom. I'm hoping to get that done tonight, as well as another room or two, and get some b-day gifts and Disney gifts wrapped that we have to take to Houston next week. I'm going to go tonight until I can't stand it anymore.

I really hope to be able to put up just a few of my Christmas decorations before we leave, but with every passing hour, I'm afraid it might have to wait. I had really hoped to not have that hanging over my head when we get back - I'll have the tree to do, too, then.

Not enough hours to get it all done, but I'm making progress. Catch you later!!
