Hi all! We just got back from a chili supper at some church friends' house. It was really nice as I haven't gotten to talk to some of these people much in a long time and hadn't met the rest. On top of all that, it was even Erin who invited Terra and I to come along.

Now I'm just working to stay awake as my lovely daughter napped for 2 hours this afternoon/evening and Phil will be needing to go to bed soon. I'm also loving Facebook right now as I found one of my best friends from high school whom I lost track of several years ago.

And with that, I think I'm going to insist that it is movie time in the chair....a.k.a. Mommy goes to sleep while the movie plays and Terra sits/lays in my lap.

just saw this posted by denise on the thread on the community board...

Well, there is definitely some kind of blockage. We just finished the Upper GI, and he took one swallow of the barium, and it literally stopped before getting to the stomach. He was dehydrated, so they had to stick him 4 times to start the IV. Then they gave him some narcotic pain meds and Versed (happy juice), and it made a world of difference. We're still in the ER, waiting for surgery to decide how to proceed. We are watching our Wishes video from the 12th floor of the CR from our Sept 06 trip. HEAVEN! He is completely NPO (nothing by mouth) until they fix it. I have no idea if it is simple or complicated. So, please keep praying!

Thanks for the suggestions. His 1st grade teacher (who is AWESOME!) called and is starting the request for home bound teacher. She said not to worry about anything. Rees has an extensive IEP, and we are in a fantastic school and district. The Asst. Principal emailed tonight and said they would take care of everything too. So, Disney here we come. That's all he talks about. How many more days? Who do we see first? I tell you, WDW will never have meant as much to me as it will in February. I am going to cry walking in and praise God for the three miracles he gave me 7 years ago.

Love to you all.

Denise,

Lots of hugs and prayers for Rees, poor little guy deserves a big break. :grouphug:

Good morning. Here is what we woke up to and it is still snowing.

It is from Club Fondue, Jennifer. I was wondering if it was exclusive to our Melting Pot too.

I didn't get any emails, so I looked all over the site too and see nothing. Boo! You should definitely go! :thumbsup2

Ooh, snow pictures! :thumbsup2 We had mention of a "small chance" for flurries the other day, but it just stayed borderline freezing and rained a bit. Soon enough though, I'm sure! (Although, I suppose I can't be too sure.... last year it was almost 65 on Christmas! :faint:)

Didnt someone < annemarie maybe???> say they were going to a show on broadway tomorrow? Not sure if this is the right thing but just saw this on the community board

Just announced: Broadway Theatres on strike - no shows tomorrow

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was just announced on the local news here in NYC. Union stagehands have officially announced they will be striking tomorrow at 11:00 am tomorrow morning, before the Saturday matinees. This will effectively close down all Broadway shows.

Broadway theatres say they will issue refunds for all shows affected. (Of course this won't help people who have planned to see a show for vacation & can't come back another day. )

Sources: Broadway stagehands to strike SaturdayReportedly set for 11 a.m.

(New York - WABC, November 9, 2007) - Industry sources tell Eyewitness News that a Broadway stagehands strike is now set for Saturday -- and will shut down nearly all the shows.

The Associated Press reports that the strike was to begin at 11 a.m., shuttering an early matinee of "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical," said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity Friday night because the person was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Both the union, Local One of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, and the League of American Theatres and Producers held two days of unproductive meetings Wednesday and Thursday, reportedly contentious negotiations.

Most Broadway theaters were expected to go dark except for such nonprofits as the Roundabout Theatre Company, and several non-League theaters housing such shows as "Young Frankenstein," "Mary Poppins" and "Xanadu."

Lisa Linden, a spokeswoman for the League, said, "We have not heard from Local One regarding a strike and it would be shocking if they would hurt the theatergoing public by shutting down Broadway without notice."

A union spokesman declined to comment.

The talks earlier this week were observed by Thomas C. Short, international president of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. Local One needed permission from Short to strike and on Thursday, its president, James J. Claffey Jr., got it.

The union has been without a contract since the end of July. The two sides have been wrangling over work rules and staffing requirements, particularly during the expensive process of loading a show into a theater.

November is a crucial month for Broadway, leading up to Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the most profitable time of the year for shows.

In addition, this month will see the opening of several plays, including Aaron Sorkin's "The Farnsworth Invention" and "August: Osage County," a critically acclaimed play from Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

Good Morning. We have bowling in a few minutes, but I actually had time to say hello. Anne Marie sorry about your Broadway show. It's probably a good thing that you didn't tell the kids :sad2:

I was hoping for news on Rees, but I don't see anything yet. I hope the little guy is feeling better by now :grouphug:

Good morning.

Heidi - Snow?! My kids would love it. Me, not so much.

Debbie - I hope you have a wonderful trip!

I started packing up my ornaments last night and ran out of packing tape. Nothing ever is easy!

Ann Marie, sorry about the show. Glad you didn't tell the kids.

Believe me, I am so NOT ready for snow. :sad2:
I absolutely hate the cold.
