The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 31

I took Lucy into the dr.s this afternoon as she had another screaming fit. She has had one Saturday night, Sunday night and this afternoon. I would have chalked it up to her teeth but she was not gnawing on her hands at all during any of these fits. She screams and screams and then stops and then is fine- laughing and smiling. I was sure that by the time I got her in the office she wouldn't be crying and I would look like a total idiot. Well she was happy as can be. Though thankfully she did start back up again.

Her ears checked out fine, no fever, all her joints seem to be in place. She did say Lucy's bowels were overactive and would probably end up with diarrhea. So we are to put her on pedialyte. And if she starts throwing up we need to call her immediately. We think it may be a reaction to the Rotavirus vaccine. And apparently a serious side effect can be that their intestines get blocked. I sure hope not as this vaccine was totally optional. So I guess we just wait and see.
I hope she is okay. :wizard: That's got to be very scary for you.

I figured I would wait until I got home to "talk" about my meeting. It went the way I expected...the 2 men who it was aimed at played dumb and told me they had felt the same way (used and abused):headache: These men asked me to call them on it when they do it.....I told them I won't do that in front of church members and I am a nonconfrontational type anyway. I feel better but not really willing to stay there forever.

I felt bad for the people it wasn't aimed at....but I don't feel bad for bringing it up.

Good for you. No one should feel that way, which I know is easier said than done. I hope you can find a new job somewhere else. :wizard:

Poor baby!!! I hope that it passes without much more than the screaming.

Thanks!!!

If you can do crosstich you can make that hat. Lizzy art teacher has the kids make hats for a local homeless shelter. I figured if a 3rd grader could do it so could I. Of course I had someone cast it on for me.

Poor Lucy! Hope she's feeling better soon!:wizard:

My girlfriend and I took a crochet class and it took me forever to be able to come up with a chain stitch, and when I come to think of it, it wasn't all that good. I know knitting and crocheting are different but I just don't have it in me. I can easily count and make and X.

Thanks! Hope you feel better soon too!

I didn't know the Rotovirus vaccine was back on the market. I really hope she feels better soon!:wizard:

It wasn't available with Emma or Molly. I only decided to get it because Emma and Molly had horrible bouts with it and I thought we try to avoid it. Between Molly's whining and Lucy's screaming it just been wonderful around here. And on top of it, it's Monday! I HATE MONDAYS!!!!

pixiedust: :wizard: pixiedust: :wizard: for all the sickies. Hope they go away soon.

I am exhausted. I worked half a day, came home and then headed to school for Alyssa's teacher conference. Then took both kids to the pediatrician. Nicholas had a physical and they both got their flu shots. Then back home for an hour and back to school for Nicholas' conference. Why couldn't I get them back to back? Anyway, quick dinner and clean up and then over to CCD. Now I'm home, both kids are in bed, and I will be soon. I have to get up at 4 AM! YUCK!

So the conferences went well. Both kids are in the upper part of their class, and Nicholas' teacher is going to have him start working with what we call the FOCUS (accelerated/gifted) teacher next month to see how he does with the program. I think it will be great to challenge him more, but I know that will mean more work for me in the long run. UGH. Oh well, we do it for our kids, right?

Can I just take a moment to remind you that God still works miracles! After dozens of injections, lots of money, biopsies of places that shouldn't be poked with needles :rolleyes1 , etc....

I am definitely pregnant! :yay:

Of course, now I've joined the ranks of "normal" barely pregnant women who will worry for the next several weeks. But my beta today was great, if not high. :goodvibes We'll have a "head count" ultrasound in about 2 weeks! :rotfl:

I can't believe I'm talking about it this early, but I guess that's what happens when you have to go a bit less secretive route  Please continue to keep us in your prayers! We'll be a bit quiet about it for a while still, but are starting to get excited. For now, I'm mostly excited that my progesterone dose is being tapered. The wonders of medicated cycles.... I'll feel better pregnant than I did trying to get there!

Thanks again for all of your support!

Such wonderful news! Keep us posted. I'll keep praying for you until you are through the first couple of weeks.

Good night ladies.

Vicki - have fun playing with your bug. ;)

Jennifer, that's Wonderful news!!! I'm so excited and happy for you and Kyle. I've wanted to tell everyone since we found out and Butch is the one that wants to hold back. He says the same thing your mom and Kyle say and I am on the same boat as you. I want everyone to know, no matter what. I wish you a Happy, Healthy and Morning Sickness free Pregnancy. You will both remain in my prayers as all of this excitment continues. Congrats again!!

I agree about the luggage.... I had such tacky luggage growing up (a hand-me down) that I insisted on black for our wedding.... and now I wish I had anything but! :rotfl:

Making the fleece is a good idea too, but still expensive. I was going to make one for my family, but saw similar prices for the fleece. When you need 1.5-2 yards each of 2 different fleeces, it ends up being over $50 still!

Joann's often has there fleece at 50% off or better. I can easily do a 60" by 60" square for under $10.

Can I just take a moment to remind you that God still works miracles! After dozens of injections, lots of money, biopsies of places that shouldn't be poked with needles :rolleyes1 , etc....

This made me cry... I am so glad for you, Jennifer and Kyle. :goodvibes

So we are in the slowest season at work. It is so dead. Hopefully things will pick up after Thanksgiving when Christmas Parties start. They are going to close the Restaurant on Thursday as the funeral is at 2 PM and it would be difficult for the owners to be in 2 places at once. I will try to make the funeral.
