I know your feelings about the Grandma/Grandson thing. My kids' 'other' grandma (their dad's mom) has seen Nicholas once, when he was 6 months old, and has NEVER seen Alyssa. She lives in Illinois. That being said, their dad goes years without seeing her too.

That's a shame! I am glad the kids have your parents!

DH's mom longed for grandchildren. She would have been delighted with DS, but she died before DH and I even got married.

My father's mom was an alcoholic, which is where my father got that lovely habit. I liked her a lot when I was little, but then when I was about 11 she moved to the same town and I got the full view of her drinking and the escapades that accompanied it. She also wasn't very nice to my mother, which is the trend in my father's family. My mother wasn't good enough for the prodigal son. (Gag, gag.) But after I grew up and my Nana went to a nursing home where they didn't allow her to drink we wrote letters all the time. I didn't go to her funeral like all the cousins did, but I kept in touch when she was alive. Funny how you can sort of make peace with people. I never felt like my father deserved that, so he died without ever really knowing DS. His loss. However dark and twisty DS turns out it won't be because I allowed my father to add to it!

Chuck keeps telling me he wants to go back this December. We loved the MVMCP, Osborne Lights, all the resorts decorations, etc. I keep telling him no. He better stop asking or he'll catch me in a weak moment. I'd love to go but we have a trip in March and a trip in June for all 4 of us. We really should save our money.

Chuck is right. You should really go to WDW in December. It was so much FUN last year! Don't you remember? And I have a new cell phone that actually holds a charge so if you are there Dec. 12-16 we could say hello! Jennifer is going. Tammi is going. Lindsay is going. Janet is going. Stephanie is going. See? Don't you feel left out?

This is the pin DS got from Hunter:

that sounds like a neat idea for your dad.

Was the first guy the head dancer? Very neat regalia

I wonder if the second young man did the grass dance. Young men are chosen to dance and flatten the grass before the ceremonies begin. Great costume
No, this was the head dancer.

They never said anything about a grass dance. :confused3 The announcer guy did say they dance to tell a story, but never went on to say what the story was. Heck if I could figure it out!

I haven't started Christmas shopping yet. Well, except for the pin bag for DH. Which, speaking of the pin bag, still hasn't been delivered. The UPS tracking site says nobody was here to sign for it so they took it back! They are going to try again on Monday. The only thing I can figure is that they came after the leasing office closed but before DH and DS got home yesterday. I am going to try to remember to put a note on the door Monday telling them to leave it in the leasing office because it is stupid for them to take it back! We never got any sort of notice that delivery was attempted, either, so I am mad about that, too!

okay i think I am going to take some benadryl and go to bed. I have been itching all over my face, chest and shoulders off and on for the past week. Today the itching has been constant. The itching was just my jaw line on my face but now its my whole face. I have not used anything new so not sure what is causing it.

The only things I have bought are a few ornaments for the kids. I have no idea what to get myBob.

Hope the Benadryl helps. I think I will head to bed too. I don't want to waste that extra hour I get tonight by staying up and hour later than I usually would. :rotfl:

well i think im headed tobed...i will be up late tomorrow night with the football game so might as well get some sleep now!
have a great night!

Are you sure she should go? I wasn't so sure about Emma but she wouldn't go to the potty so I told her she'd have to go back to the resort with DH. I suppose you'll have enough adults that someone could leave with her if you had to.

Cool! I love the Poly. I'm sure we'll be at Pop though Emma does ask to go back to the resort with the beach (the Poly). Maybe we could meet up? I did the Segway last May during the F&GF and it was great.

I have thought of that, and am going to leave it up to her parents. They have the soundtrack, and I've also sent them links where they can watch the show online to get an idea of what it's about. If it gets bad, we have 8 adults there - any one of us could take her out without any problems. The BIL's family that isn't going have kids of similar/younger age, and that was their favorite show a couple of years ago. (Of course, their kids watch all the Animal Planet shows where the animals eat one another, and they cheer them on! :scared1: )

We enjoy the Poly a lot, too. I would wager that it probably edges out AKL for Jonathan's favorite non-DVC resort. It could be that we had what I would consider our best, most relaxing trip when we split our stay with SSR and the Poly in March 2006. I'll be interested to see how he likes the GF in a couple of weeks. We do love that Poly beach, too (and those hammocks!).

I would love to meet you guys if our days overlap. :goodvibes

Thanks for checking for me! im sure the dallas store is going to be even worse! I would love a nice fleece but just cant spend the 60.00 right now unfortunately....thats why the 4.00 sounded good, even though i know they arent the same quality! thanks for checking--i appreciate it!

No joy tonight at Wal-Mart, Jen. I'm wagering maybe Jerry isn't selling the rights cheap enough to warrant a $4 blanket. ;) So sorry!!!!!

Lindsay what a game.

Good luck on getting your projects done before your trip.

Sorry about your BIL and family I hope when they do go they are able to enjoy it.
I hope your brother really gets his life together.

I know! It was ugly, but I'm thankful we have another W. This football season is wearing me out - they're just not fun to watch this year. Way too stressful, and like a comedy of errors. We definitely didn't deserve to win (but I'll take it!).

Lindsay - DS makes a point to never be impressed by anything. I don't know if he will be impressed by being picked up from school and taken to WDW to meet up with his favorite uncles or not. I guess we'll see in 39 days!:rotfl2:
I'm glad your nieces are excited! You all will have so much fun!:goodvibes

I would be forever impressed if someone surprised me with a WDW trip. I'm always available for the next one! ;)

Oh and I got my MVMCP tickets in the mail today. :)

Yippee!!

Do the kids know about this trip? Is Bob's DD excited to go?

We are back from my In-Laws. My FIL has decided not to have the surgery. He is 84 years old and has decided the pain & recovery aren't worth it. He was told he probably has 6 months to a year. It is his decision. Chuck's brother & sister are having trouble accepting this. Chuck has been preparing Katrina, Becky & I for this for at least a year. This week-end when my mom was here and asked how he was doing, Chuck told her he is preparing for his death (that was before he even had the heart attack). I'm not saying that I'm happy with the decision but I'm trying to be supportive anyways. I keep reminding myself that I don't want him to have the surgery for himself but for us. I understand him not wanting to be an invalid (55% chance of stroke with the surgery). He does have meds to take for his heart and they are watching his sugar levels because they were high yesterday. Otherwise, it is life as usual for him.

I'm so sorry, Vicki. We went through a similar thing with my grandmother, but she was a few years older. She decided it just wasn't worth the pain and risk of surgery, and they were able to keep her fairly comfortable until the end. Hugs and prayers for your entire family. :wizard:  :wizard:

For what?? :rotfl: :rotfl: Can't take it with you. And since Disney just sent another email with December discounts, they must have a few rooms to fill.:rolleyes1 I say go for it.:thumbsup2

And you all know me so well. :goodvibes I'm going to be back at Disney for next years F&W. :dance3:

Yikes! I hope that the Benedryl helps!:wizard: Good night!

What to get yourBob is tricky!

Good night!

Wow! I go wash my face and everybody bails!

Lindsay - I was trying to watch DS's face at dinner to see if he was thinking it would be nice to go to WDW, but he didn't say anything. At least he didn't say anything to ME. One of our friends gets horribly motion sick and the other LOVES rides. DS is his "ride buddy" on Space and other stuff. I don't get motion sick but with my back there are things I prefer to sit out, so we all just take turns. I THINK DS said something about that but he said it to my friend and I couldn't hear him. Our table was in the room where they seat all the big parties and there were 3 HUGE groups in there making all sorts of racket.
