DVC Chit Chat Thread

Pretty much every trip…. We also just ordered one of these for every country to hang in the bonus room:

We just moved and I’ve been struggling with what to do, I love this idea, but I’m trying to keep themes to certain rooms, so too many pavilions for one room. Well not really, but the livingroom already has a direction.

I am thinking of just some Disney park blueprints for old school rides or lands, etc. for the office.

We also kinda have “explorer” type of thing going already in the livingroom, so some DISNEY S.E.A stuff may work well in there, so we may add on to that.

We found some really cool stuff out there, but it can get pricey quick. lol

I feel like the merchandise offerings over the past year or two have gone downhill... we typically go in the store only to find nothing work buying or worth buying at the price...

also, I feel like the inventory is much more shared between the shops currently - there seems to be a reduction in SKUs... that seems to be playing out in every store elsewhere too not just Disney...

That said, we love buying something unique or special when we find it... but we don't seek out quite as much anymore...

saw the PM Riviera shirt... wish they made it for GF...

I looked at that PM RIV shirt on so many trips before I finally caved and bought it. I would love a VGF one.

The cross selling of items at DL and WDW continues to irritate me. I shouldn’t see Epcot merch at DL, and I did last year.

So many of the items are identical. Years ago, the merch used to be much more varied.

First world DVC’er problems. Im trying to gather and prepare all my stuff for my taxes. But I keep coming here to see whats happening, keep playing the slots for DVC reservations and I am knee deep in family costume planning for Pirate night on our DCL cruise, which we will use the costumes again for Halloween and now I think I also will have to go to MNSSHP since we will have cool costumes.
Same! I’ve just taken the easy way and booked a pirate makeover for my daughter and bought some cheap tat from Amazon for my costume though…

We always buy a Christmas decoration or two but as we’re from UK we don’t go anywhere near as frequently as most of you.

The shareholders have spoken, a they said to go ahead and sell everything, everywhere. ;)

I agree unique merch is what made it fun to buy… if I wanted to see everything, everywhere I could just go online and see it all in one place.

Ok, on my mind re: DVC and resorts and credit card benefits: every VDH and Aulani owner should consider the Disney Inspire Visa.

Why these two locations specifically? Because both have a Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) that can be charged to your room, and it will count toward the Inspire’s annual $200 reward for spending toward $2000 on resorts in one year. You’ll also get 3% back with the card on the same purchases. Dues spending does not count toward this, nor do purchases of points or payments of DVC loans.

At each meal and store, get any applicable DVC discounts and charge the cost to your room too. Once you add on TOT, you’re going to be pretty close. If you do more than one trip within one year, you’ll almost certainly hit it. And you don’t have to play the Disney gift card game, except for spending above and beyond that amount (if you want).

Just came by to say thank you for this - was the push I needed to get it!

okay, DVC owners let's chat! You regularly go on Disney property so you've probably bought a Disney coffee mug, shirt, etc. Now that you've been several times to Disney, do you even buy merchandise souvenirs anymore?
I try not to unless it is something really special. I do shop resale between trips as many people will sell items new once they have regret from purchasing many souvenirs/loungefly.

Good morning all you fine people
Morning. :surfweb:

Next cruise I will maybe book the boys pirate makeover. It’s our first cruise so pretty much everything was gone by the time I got a chance to book.

I’m happy I don’t like backpacks. Loungefly are all so cute! If I used backpacks they would be hard to resist and I’d regret having so many.

Keep checking. The items on the cruise are just like the DVC slots. Openings pop in, up to cruise time. (And in the cruise port, when hook to the ship app).

This happens a lot for the island cabanas.

Nice, I didnt really think much about trying that! I am currently playing the slots for Up Close with the Rhinos for next month too.

Definitely fun. The Rhino is the most “up close” of them all. Visit the barn area and actually feel one!
I have 1 spot booked so far hoping 2 more open up. We watched the behind the scenes shows about Animal Kingdom so my son is so looking forward to it too.
