When you say open, did you have to untwist the cap? Or perhaps, you're drinking from a good vintage box? Maybe your wine is really Mad Dog 20/20?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

nothing like cold duck!

I will tell you that I am drinking the wine from my food & wine pairing! But I am clearly not above twisting a cap;)

Bill & I break out in prayer when the kids start talking about sleep overs...can you tell I am not a big fan...

I think it's been over a year since Christopher and Kirsten had one...

If you hear the phone ringing, don't answer it, okay? I need to talk to your children. ;)

Maybe Nicholas's friends aren't as wild as DS's friends, but I know there have been times when I watched the clock just waiting for a play date to end! It really depends on the individual kids, but I still thing 4 total is plenty for overnight.
I am used to kids complying with my requests, and DS had one little friend a couple of years ago who just would NOT do what I asked him to do (like get out of the pool when it was time to get out). He also climbed up on my kitchen counter so he could reach something!:scared1: The reason I mention this is because I had NO CLUE he would do that when I invited him!
DS doesn't have friends sleep over very often, but if he does I make sure I screen his choice VERY carefully!:rotfl2:

I was just talking about this with my girlfriend Dana. She said that my girls are the only kids she wants her DD's to be around. Emma and Molly have her pretty snowed. :rolleyes1 All of her other friend's kids make her :scared1:

I was telling her that the one mom who was doing pickup from school last year for me, called me Wednesday morning. She said she had a gift for Lucy and wanted to drop it off. We used to chat/hang out a lot and then this past summer since I had Lucy she just sort of vanished. I mean not once did we talk over the summer. Well we got to talking and she mentioned that she was upset at her mom. Her mom was to fly in and stay with the girls as her and DH were flying to Maine for their anniversary. And now that the grand mom wasn't coming they had to take the girls. I appreciate the gift but I honestly think that she wanted me to offer to keep the girls for the weekend. If anyone remembers I had the 2 girls last winter and it was the sleepover from you know where. The timing was just completely suspicious.

and I still haven't recovered from it.

Seeking birthday party advice......

Nicholas' 8th bday is rapidly approaching and I've been asking him what he wants to do. I gave him the option of having a party somewhere (skate rink, Fun Land, etc) or having a sleepover. He has chosen the sleepover. I'm a sleepover virgin!!!! It will be his first. How many boys should I let him have? What kinds of foods should I serve? Games? Entertainment? Remember, I need easy and convenient. I'm thinking that it will probably be a Saturday night. Kids will probably be too tired for a Friday night sleepover after a week of school. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

I think you are right. :rotfl2: She's definitely one of a kind!

I wonder if her ears are burning? ;)
 Man I have you guys fooled I am so not supermom and I am blushing

So having a 3 boys here is my take on sleepovers. Nick has gone to one and it was just a couple of boys. They did pizza and lots of outside stuff and it was not very organized, but he had fun. That being said if Hunter asked to have a party I would keep it small and I would make sure that I knew the kids and parents well. Kids get all weird at nighttime and I wouldn't want one freaking out on me. I would say no more than 4 for a first sleepover. Instead of ordering out pizza I would either buy a pizza kit or use bread dough and sauce and let the kids make their own. They could make one big one or each make a small one with whatever toppings they like. I would probably not do sundaes as 8 year old boys are messy. I think I would make cupcakes and have frosting and sprinkles, m & m's etc for them to decorate the cupcakes. Maybe little ice cream cups to go with it, but maybe not :lmao: I find cake crumbs much easier to clean up over melted ice cream and hot fudge. Movies and popcorn is a good idea, however getting them to settle down and watch one is another story. Video games are always a hit, but it must be a small crowd. Board games that have short durations would be another suggestion. Unless you can comfortably fit all the kids in his bedroom, I would opt for a larger room that they could all sleep in. Perhaps they could each bring their favorite game and teach the others how to play. That would be less thinking on your part and it would give each of them a leader role at some point. Another project could be getting fabric markers and white t-shirts and letting them design a momento of the night. I like quiet busy things. These are just off the top of my head. Something may hit me later. I'll ask the boys too.

I am interrupting my own catch-up phase of DISing tonight to ask a favor from someone as yet unknown. While I was sitting at the airport waiting to go through security Wednesday evening, my student Patrick sent me a text message asking if I had taken my laptop along on vacation. When I told him no, he sent me some wonderful news that he could not wait to share until I got home.

He has been invited to play his composition from the national concert this past summer at the 2008 NAMM Convention (National Association of Music Merchants) which is held at the Anaheim Convention Center every January! Last year over 87,000 people attended this event!! I will tell you all more about it later, but the reason I am asking for help is that we need a headshot ASAP for all the publicity. His Mom took a decent one, with gorgeous foliage in the background. I fear that Yamaha Corporate will want a more "professional" background. Is there anyone who would have the time and be willing to change out the background for a more "mottled" backdrop in the next couple of hours?

I can email you the JPEG file if I have any takers. Just PM me so I dont miss any replies. If no one has the time, I fully understand! Just thought I would come here and ask before I send this off to California, with the possibility that it will be returned as unusable.

Sure you're not... :rotfl:

We made it to the Pumpkin in the Park event 45 minutes late and they were just wrapping up the costume contest. Hunter didn't care and went off to play, but Colby insisted that I take him over to the judges. He was Dracula in his coffin. They only give out 3 trophies, one for scariest, one for cutest and one for most original. Colby was sure that he was the scariest, but he's just too cute to be scary. In the end he did win the most original trophy. He was on cloud 9. I'm glad that we got off our butts and took them as they all had fun. I was feeling guilty that I can't take them trick or treating on Wednesday since I have to work so at least I got to be a part of this :goodvibes

Just reading about sleep overs caused me to go open the wine! :)

I let them all sleep in the family room....

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thank goodness my boys did not want to have sleep overs. I would have gotten the wine out too!!!

Next time i come, ill bring this for ya....dont ya like how i invite myself over?!

Gimme a date!!

I'm not Anne Marie or Terry, but the hidden Donald is on an armchair when you enter the long hallway of doors - near the suit of armor. I'm pretty sure it used to be somewhere else before the refurb, but I could be wrong. I do remember our guide on the KTTK tour point it out, though! :thumbsup2
Thanks!

Ok, here is the link to my photopass pictures. Most of them are Chuck & I but 43 on are some group pictures.

Those are great!

Here are our photopass pictures. They start at 108. I have no idea who the first 107 belong to.

Yours are great too. I bet a photopass photographer gave you their card. I hope they had the card number written down. That happen to me on Lizzy’s birthday trip. The photographer insisted that I had not given him my card but in fact he had given my card to the Chip and Dale fanatic in front of us. She had lots of photos taken, gave the presents, more photos. Got her card back and then went back for more photos after I had already given the photographer my card. I went to the photo shop right away and found my photos but I always take a photo of my photopass card now.

Will you please keep my co-worker Michelle's family in your prayers. 3 of her sisters have been evacuated from their homes in California due to the wildfires. All are staying with their brother in another area of California. Although the fires may hit that area as well. They could really use all the good thoughts they can get.

Thank you!
Prayers for your co-worker’s family, Chanon’s Aunt & Uncles and everyone else in CA. How tragic!!!!

Our flight was 10 min utes early. Ouyr luggage was down right after we arrived. The shuttle came as soon as we called. :goodvibes
Welcome home Terry & Steffy. Glad you guys had a smooth flight!

Chanon - Good luck getting back into the "work" groove! I would love to call you to chat about my August trip, but there isn't anything I can book yet! Hopefully in a little over a month we can get all those details in place!:) I was looking at historical discounts on MouseSavers and last year Bounce Back started Nov. 8. Since they just ended Bounce Back on Oct. 12 I am wondering if they will offer it again, and if they do, if the redemption dates will be early enough in August for us to take advantage. Hopefully by mid-December we'll know our exact dates and I'll have the plans worked out well enough to know what we need to book. I guess we should book Bounce Back if it's offered and then cancel it if AP rates are just spectacular, huh?
I don’t think this will do much for me. Even if I could get 30% off for say the BC it would still be about $100/night than ASMu Family Suite and because I want to go for 12 or 14 nights that would add up. 40% off a 2BR at OKW would be $200 more per night.

IThough I do have a line on a new job...just have to dust off the resume....for as old as I am there are very few jobs on it.
Good luck with that!!!!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

 for Colby!

We went to Emma's school Pumpkin Festival. In other words, too many kids and parents crammed into the cafeteria playing cheesy games for even cheesier prizes. But all the girls had fun. My sister, niece, Dana and her 2 dd's along with my 3 and Allyson. Came home and had pizza for dinner.

I've done something tonight I never thought I would do....I filed a complaint about toilet paper. :lmao:

Just out of curiosity, mind you... with whom would one file such a claim??
