Happy Anniversary!:)
Ours is 11/7 - 15 years.

Anne Marie - I will miss you by a day. We are coming home 8/17 at the latest. I don't have wiggle room on the date we come home, just the date we go to Orlando. I need to be here so I can go back to work on 8/18 if they need me. I might not have to work until 8/19, but I want to be home just in case!
I am not surprised that the CMs are confused. That seems to happen no matter what. I am wondering what the AP rates will look like next year. I am also worried about getting an AP rate at the resort we want on the room type we want. It sounds like Bounce Back is better than AAA, but AP could be better than Bounce Back. I could be on the phone for the next 10 months.:rotfl2:

Ours is on 11/3, 16 years..how time flies!!!

Oh no, 1 day!!!!!!!! I am not surprised that they are confused but I am that they know nothing about a flyer that was given out...if Disney is going to give out flyers, #1 do it all rooms, #2 let the CM;s know so they know what to do when people call.

I just got a new cell phone (same #) but now I have the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song (Black Pearl) as my ringtone! So cool!!!!!!!!

Daniel & Katie got free phones (verizon promo) Daniels has GPS so we can see where he is on the bus since his school is an hour away. Katie is so excited but I told her it was for emergency only, but she does have unlimited picture taking so she is happy about that.

Me too!

I've done WDW twice in August, and this Texas girl swelters there... it is much more humid than it is here, and my Aunt (in Houston) said she thinks WDW is worse than even Houston! That doesn't mean I won't do it again, because that is the best time for us. In fact, 2009 we will probably be there at that time. It would be smart to rent the car because then you aren't waiting for the buses, and misters and fans would be essential. Especially for Virginia, as strollers/car seats don't let a lot of air in. I would think seriously about November... everyone has their own opinion, but missing a week of kindergarten doesn't seem like a big deal for me... That being said, my kids hate to miss school and have years of perfect attendance, so I might not have the right perspective on the school issue...

Denise -- sending PD to Rees and to you and all the Figs! :wizard:

I'm off to more seminars. Have a great day, DDA!

thanks Marci
I had perfect attendance through out all of my school years. Of course I went to a private Christian school. would love to send the girls to one but they are all on the other side of town more then an hour drive

I got this coupon via e-mail from Linens 'N Things this morning - 25% off your entire purchase this weekend (and I've always had luck using them beyond the end dates, too).

Also, Bed Bath and Beyond will typically honor this coupon, too, but only during the advertised redemption dates.

Hope this helps someone: http://lnt.imageg.net/graphics/coupon/LNT_10.25f&f_us.pdf

actually linens n things will take bed bath and beyond coupons as well

So I was over at the CB, checking on the exchanges and Nancy (Meriweather) post recipes on her holiday recipe exchange thread.

Well I found one that not only sounds good, but is very easy to make. (Hear that Elizabeth? I don't even you could mess this recipe up.)

Peanut Butter Cups

1 cup butter
2 cups peanut butter
2 1/2 cups powered sugar
12 ounce chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350º

Mix together butter, peanut butter, and sugar. Spread in a
9"x9" pan.

Top with the chocolate chips and place in oven for 10 minutes.

Smooth chips over top with a spatula. Cut into squares before completely cooling.

Store in refrigerator.

sounds yummy

I received an email for $99 a night at MGM in Vegas, anyone ever stay here? I told Gary & he wants to stay here instead of Planet Hollywood. It comes with a GC for $35 towards shopping at the Miracle Mile shops.

Never stayed there, but have visited! Alan whisked me away for an impromptu trip to Vegas (before kids), and we visited the MGM for a few hours. They were having an autograph signing for the Wizard of Oz. We got to meet some of the last surviving Munchkins. We met the Mayor of Munchkinland, and one of the "royal guards." It was kind of cool!

That was the same trip that I got to meet Debbie Reynolds. Ah, good memories!

thanks Marci

I had perfect attendance for most of my school years. I missed one day of high school for my grandfather's funeral. My parents were firm believers in you didn't miss school unless you were very sick. It was hard for me to get past that mentality. However, I decided that a week of vacation with the family was more important than Becky not missing a couple of days of school. She made up all her work. She did it while we were on our trip. I know it made more work for the teachers and I felt bad about that but still decided that our family was also important. Chuck can't take a week off in the summer or holidays because of his business.

One of my ringtones is the Black Pearl. Right now it rings "Come with us and you will see, this our town of Halloween! This is Halloween, this is Halloween!" Not sure what I will change it to after Halloween.

I think DS wants a cell phone, but he never calls anyone. The only person who ever calls him is his best friend, and those calls are rare. I am not very happy with him right now so I'm not even considering a phone. He was fooling aorund in band today and the teacher told him I am going to get a call. Great. The band teacher is going to call and tell me my child is a spaz. Thanks for the tip, dude.:headache:

Bummer that we will miss you next August.:guilty:

It is a darn good thing my mouth is empty or I would have choked for sure!:scared1: You have NEVER seen my movie?!

And Theresa, you aren't a fan of Tim Burton?! I Loooove Tim Burton! But he is dark and twisty inside like I am.;)

As you saw, I later posted that the reason I watched it was for you! I'm not a Tim Burton fan and as I suspected, I didn't really care for this either. However, I had to try for your sake. See what a friend I am? :lmao:

I appreciate you effort! Sorry you don't "get" Tim Burton. Apparently that is a common issue!:rotfl2:

Look what I found on www.odpt.com
http://eventservices.disney.go.com/pintrading/pin?id=29953

The MVMCP pins are up!!! It looks like they are releasing 2 each week instead of one each party night. Our party is the 13th, so I guess we'll get the pins that are listed for 12/9? I (of course) like the one for 12/16 better, but we go home that afternoon!

I am not good at TR's, so I am not even going to attempt one. I do want to say that this was one of the best trips ever! Everyone I met was wonderful, I felt like I had know them forever. As corny as it may sound, I feel blessed that I was able to share my happy place with others who love it just as much.

Tammi, Bob, Kristine, Bill, Vicki, Chuck, Elin, Anne Marie, Chanon, Lindsay, Terry, Stephanie, Deb, & Chris, from the bottom of my heart thank you for making this a very special & memorable trip :goodvibes

Ditto

well Jeff got up in the attic and got the box that had my pants in it that I wore last year, I was able to button and zip the pants that I wore this time last year.:woohoo:
