The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 30

I was just telling Momboss tonight that when I was pregnant with DS there was a Disney Store in the Galleria. That's where I bought our Christmas stockings. When DS was newborn his first outing was to the Galleria, and we bought him a stuffed Piglet. Maybe 4 years after that my friend called and told me Steven Tyler was in the Disney Store at Galleria. Then she asked me who he is and why people were getting so frenzied! It was a shame that they closed it. Then they closed the one in the nice mall that I live near. The rumor for a LONG time was that it would reopen, but it never has. I know the profits from being in a "good" mall would offset the increase in rent but apparently they don't think so.

It does often confuse me that there is a DS at Valley View, but no longer at the Galleria or North Park. Seems counter-intuitive to me!

Lindsay - I hate that there isn't a Disney Store in NorthPark! When they started the construction the rumor was that a HUGE flagship DS would open in January of 2006. Then the DS managers started telling me that DS and mall mgmt. were in a big fight over space and cost and so forth. For awhile it went back and forth but now I don't think they are even trying to work it out. At least you have Collin Creek and Stonebriar that are pretty close to you. Oh, the mgr. Heather from Valley View just got transferred to Collin Creek. Not sure who will get Valley View now.

In all of my days of shopping I have never seen a Talbot's Men! How interesting! That sounds like a nice center!

I've never actually gone in. Have never seen another one. Talbots started here in MA. I pass by the headquarters on my way to work.

Steven Tyler lives in MA. My DH used to be a nursery manager at a nice local garden center and he had Steven Tyler as a customer-said he was a nice guy!

If I was properly motivated I could walk to the Paciugo at NorthPark, but I prefer to drive.

But...if it was hot enough for ice cream wouldn't it be too hot to walk?

Dinner for myself, Terry, Stephanie, Vicki, Chuck, Tammi, Bob, & Jo at California Grill. Wow! what a meal! Our server Walter was amazing! The sun was just going down when we got there & the sky was streaked with red.
My dessert..

After the delicious dinner we watched Wishes from the catwalk at the top of the CR. WOW!!! This was a wonderful experience made even more special by sharing it with my friends.

We hauled butt & took the monorail over to MK & just got in to see the start of Spectro. Some of the gang stayed at MK til midnight . Very cool, low crowds, nice weather.... We rode the Jungle cruise at night which I had never done before. Haunted Mansion (Terry showed me a hidden Donald in the ride! ) I didn't even know that existed! Got another Dole Whip float. We got a group shot on the photopass on mainstreet (all of us were holding food! )

That looks so good! I made an ADR for Joe's birthday trip there. He's my good eater and he is the one who LOVES the CR. He will be SO excited to eat there. I made the ADR for 5:30 (when they open) so in Jan I don't know if we'll still see signs of the sunset. OK....I had to look it up. The site I used only went to 12/31 and sunset was at 5:40. We'll be there the next week so we should hit it perfectly.

Please do tell-where is the hidden Donald?

I have to say that I wish I had pictures of Stephanie when we were at 8 Trax at Pleasure Island. She was dancing up a storm. Deb, Chris, Terry, Stephanie, Chuck & I had a great time there.

My new CD's are in my suitcase as well as our gifts for the girls. Chuck was silly and moved his work papers from his backpack to his suitcase before our flight home. Now he needs the papers and they aren't here. He's learned his lesson! He took out the papers to make room for his new CD's.

Yes, it doesn't make much sense to me. I will have to ask one of the partners I'm friends with at work - we actually handle a vast majority of the lease contracts for them and he's their main guy - maybe he will know if there's any hope!

He was also the one that tipped me off about a month in advance to Bombay's filing for bankruptcy, since we won the auction for our clients to conduct their "going out of business" sales. Bummer, as I really liked Bombay!

That dessert did look yummy! All this talk of dessert and ice cream makes me wish I had something suitable here!

I'm not Anne Marie or Terry, but the hidden Donald is on an armchair when you enter the long hallway of doors - near the suit of armor. I'm pretty sure it used to be somewhere else before the refurb, but I could be wrong. I do remember our guide on the KTTK tour point it out, though!

Lindsay - There used to be a Bombay at Valley View. It was in the space where Bath & Body is now. When I FIRST moved to Coppell I worked at Valley View and I still remember what USED to be in a lot of the spaces.
It seems like the last rumor I heard about DS at NorthPark was that DS wanted a bigger space than NP was willing to give them. It seems like the mall is near 100% leased, so if they decided to go in now they would kind of have to take whatever space was available.

Bernadette - I didn't know that about Talbot's. It seems like I sort of knew Steven Tyler is from MA. I am not surprised that he is nice - I have heard that before. I never run into famous people. Except that day DS was blocking the stairs at the preschool and I had to shoo him out of the way so Don Henley could get around him. That doesn't count though, because I was in the car before it clicked that it was Don Henley. Oh, I met John Daly (the PGA golfer) in the DFW airport once.
