Well, we are supposedly having the Director of Egleston OR and Dr. W (the Egleston surgeon) both calling the head of the GI practice tomorrow to demand an appt and ask why in the world it is taking so long. Rees is just Rees... hanging in there and acting like nothing is wrong... Then I check his tummy and it is huge, hard, and he still is having all the bathroom symptoms. He is having the outpatient surgery on Thursday, so, to be honest, I'm just so stressed overall that I am just walking through the day like a zombie. I have calls into the GI, the Ped, the surgeon, his Endocrinologist. They all say don't go to the ER as we'd just get shoveled around by the ER docs and maybe seen by GI for a few minutes with an appt to be made later...

He went to Physical Therapy for the first time in 4 weeks today. His PT (who has worked with Rees since birth and is such a good friend) couldn't believe how bad he looked, how thin he is, said he shook the entire time, was so weak. It is literally killing me. I feel helpless, just like I did when I watched all 3 of them in the NICU for 14 weeks and had no idea whether they would live or not.

I eat and binge, then don't eat at all. I haven't had a drink as I'm afraid I wouldn't stop. Today I hid in bed from 8am to 1pm just crying under the covers and waiting for a call that, once again, never came.

Thanks for letting me vent and complain here. And my DH would tell you that patience is NOT my strong suit at all. But I have no idea what else to do at this point? It's just so amazing. We have EXCELLENT private insurance, fantastic docs, are in a major medical area with 2 Children's hospitals, I'm a peds nurse. What do people do who have no insurance or access or knowledge of health care? It is very, very scary.

I wish I could do more, but I will definitely be sending prayers and Pixie Dust your way. :grouphug:

Love this one :goodvibes

how absolutely adorable!!!

Thanks!!

Emma's look made me giggle!!!:rotfl:

Lucy is awwwwwww!!

It's so silly!! And I'm quite impressed she thought of it on her own.

That's what my mom says too!!

You need to move here.....can't go a block without a Mexican joint. But I still cook a much better Mexican than most of them.

Hey, when we get out there next summer I'll cook up some for you!! How does that sound??

Cool, I can't wait! Do you have a ballpark idea of when you'll be here?

I am so sorry that so much "rain" has been falling in your life lately.

I will be praying for your family.

Jen- Somehow I missed your post! You absolutely are in our prayers and thoughts.'s You know my number;)

Poor Olivia! She doesn't want to miss out on the fun! She is obviously taking the "sister" thing very seriously!:goodvibes
I love the pic of the 3 of you together! Now you have to get used to having a tiny one again. Or do you handle the newborns at work? I was thinking you work with the moms, but maybe you get to hold the babies, too.:)

Jen, sending lots of good thoughts to you and your dad!:wizard:

Fabulous!;)

Desperate Housewives was pretty good! My cake was marginal. I like whipped frosting, and the frosting on this cake is the "buttercream" kind. It is kind of greasy which is why I don't like that kind. If I could ever manage to plan ahead I would ORDER a cake from Sam's with the kind of frosting I like. I can't believe the weekend is over! I didn't accomplish ANYTHING! I did manage to squirt some blue cleanser into my toilet before I went to the grocery but that was it! I need a housekeeper.

I hate buttercream, it is horribly greasy. The trick when you make it yourself is to dissolve salt into water and add it to the icing. It takes that greasy feel out. But I'm sure you won't be making icing anytime soon.

That squirt of blue was way more than I did over the weekend :rotfl2:

DH was good. I need to finish Brothers and Sisters tonight.

I am very disappointed in you all who have lives outside of the DDA:lmao:

Only 5 pages from my last post. :sad2:

Boy do I remember the days of spending a half hour or more catching up...this weekend has been heavenly.

I see we weren't all that productive, as the returning ones found out about Virginia's arrival rather quickly :sad2:

Aidan update:

So we got home earlier today with an SUV full of home health equipment and supplies. I think we need a bigger house, but it was great to know it's becoming more real each and everyday. The Room-In went quite well and we are getting excited for his homecoming. He will be released on Tuesday, but we are unsure of the time. We are planning on arriving first thing that morning and getting him ready for his trip HOME! Mya is quite excited and we have had fun organizing all of the supplies, not really.

Our new prayer request is that we can find some QUALITY home nurses to assist us. We heard many a horror story while on the floor and believe me we will be running them through the tests, to see how they do things. At this point we have chosen to use them only during days and cover the evening work by ourselves. Something about a stranger staying up and watching TV in my living room really creeps me out.

Aidan is doing really well off of the vent and his heart and liver are improving rapidly. He also used a false nose yesterday on his trach and did quite well with that as well. We can not thank you enough for lifting our son up in Prayer over these past few months and know that by God's Intervention this boy is coming home. The Doctor's are amazed at his rapid recovery, but we know that all Glory belongs to the one whom created him.

Now I pray he will let me survive on less sleep. I get the evening shifts.

He sounds close to being home....you all should check out the pictures!! What a handsome prince he is growing up to be.:goodvibes

:yay: for Aidan!! :wizard: that it's a smooth transition!

We went to a foster families house as part of our assignment for Day2Serve. The girls and I cleaned the kitchen from tip to bottom until it sparkled.

The ladies have 4 children in their home....2 were on biological parent visits...2 were at home. While we cleaned the kitchen they watched American Tail...I haven't seen that movie in years...it was wonderful to listen to. They then put in Alladin. :happytv:

The little boy was so sweet and took a liking to Cassidy....he was asked whose in charge...to which his usual answer is me:rotfl: He pointed to Cassidy and said "she is" in his best 2 year old voice.
:lmao:

Sounds like a great day. I just let Molly and Ty watch American Tail Thursday. Loved that movie.

Elizabeth- I got Cold Stone Creamery Peanut Butter Cup Perfection Creation-chocolate ice cream, pb, peanut butter cups and fudge....it's yummy and I love ice cream but I hardly ever eat more than 5 bites of ice cream at a time.

Sounds heavenly

Becky - I LOVE your TR! This is fabulous! Add me to the list of people who probably need that shirt.:rolleyes1
DH refuses to go on a cruise. I have to tell you, reading about getting on the ship and getting ready to go actually made me jittery! I think I would be scared to go on a cruise! I am scared when the plane takes off, too, but I usually get over that once the plane levels out. And really, I can swim, I can't fly, so you would think a plane would make me much more nervous than a boat. Your pics are beautiful!

I agree, great trip report!! You look fabulous :cool2:

I forgot to ask:

Did anybody see the MAJOR enhancements and renovations that are on tap for DL???

The first phase should be done in 5 years....I am planning on a Disneyland trip there then!!

Of course if Cassidy should end up in CA for school well than I'll be closer and go more often!!:rotfl:

Sounds great! I really want to go to DL.

Becky-I think we have buried all pertinent information quite well tonight....thanks!!:goodvibes

Not well enough I'm afraid

Thanks!!

Okay I really was on a posting tirade this weekend if most of these are you quoting me:rotfl2:

We are looking at June sometime...I want to send the girls out ahead of us so they get the Ama time they've been missing.

I saw that all the returnees found the Virginia information quickly.....oh well we tried:confused3

For those here for my car drama on Friday....My dear hubby signed an extended warranty without talking to me.....to the tune of $2111.....the man is a gigantic PITA sometimes. Since I have never seen the papers we are trying to get that removed....still not the $4000 but more than half.

Still have 7 pages to go, but have to go catch the train home. I will finish tonight, though!

And welcome to the world, Virginia! Congrats to mom, dad, and big sis, too!!! princess: :cheer2: princess: :cheer2:

Jennifer (Tink2020) it is now 7:00a.m! I will be thinking and praying for you today!

Take it easy today!

Jennifer, You've been in my thoughts all day. :wizard:

When I asked about apples, did someone here suggest Honey Crisp? Found some and they are delicious.

Sounds yummy!

We are home!!! I will need to go back and catch up, but just wanted to pop in and say hi :wave2: We got home at 2 AM and Chris and I are both exhausted. Chris went to work and it is all that I can do to keep my eyes open, but Colby wants his Mommy awake :confused3

Welcome Back. Sounds like a great trip.

Hey guys! You have all been very busy! I haven't really been able to keep up lately. I've been sick for six weeks with a sinus infection, yeast infection, sinus infection, yeast infection. A very vicious circle! The doctor finally gave me a steroid shot and new antibiotics last Thursday, and I mostly stayed home until today. Sending out PD and prayers to all of those who need them!

Congrats to Jennifer on Virginia's arrival! The picture of the three girls of the family is priceless!

Denise -- I'm hoping that you get good news on tests for Rees today. You've been in my thoughts and prayers!

Jen -- I'm sending prayers for you that the eggs stick! :) Boy does that sound funny...like gum on a shoe or something...

Amy -- love all the pics from the fall events. Thanks again for loaning the lobster costume for Will.

Becky -- love your pics! It makes me homesick for DCL!

Hi Elizabeth and Lindsay! It is rather miserable here today, isn't it? Only Dallas would go from sunny and 90 yesterday to rainy and a high of 58-60 with dropping temps throughout the day. I want the 70s for a while!

Have a great day everyone!

Marci- I hope you kick this vicious cycle soon. and :wizard:

Marci, I hope your new medicine does the trick!

Becky, great pictures!

Robyn, love the girls' costumes! They are so cute (and evil ;) )

Jen, :wizard: and prayers for your dad!

We had a very busy day yesterday, filled with lots of Halloween fun. No pictures downloaded yet, but I'll try to post them later this week. Tonight, we're hitting the thrift store to finally find Kevin a pair of pants and shirt for his Lumiere costume.

The kids and I just got back from "booing" the neighbors. Does anyone else do this in your neighborhood? Nobody did it last year, but I thought it would be a neat tradition to start. We'll see if it catches on.

Which reminds me, Deb, I totally forgot about the sticker chain you sent me. I tried that last year with some of my friends, and it didn't catch on at all. :( I'll be sure to mail Colby some stickers this week though. :)

Thanks Amy. We got Boo'ed a couple of years ago by one of Emma's friends in kindergarten. It was their first year in the neighborhood. It was cute and I love the idea. It just never caught on here. Darn rednecks

Ask away! I'm always happy to answer questions!

I was raised to respect everyone's beliefs. I think the world would be a much better place if everyone was just allowed to worship how and where they feel the most comfortable.

I'm just glad I was on someone's brain!!! It's nice to be loved!

I totally agree! We love celebrating all of the different Jewish/Christian holidays here. Emma is finally at an age where we can discuss the differences and such. The only thing I miss is that Eric will never truly understand my love for Christmas morning. He cannot fathom why we need to get up at o dark thirty to open gifts!

Marci, I hope you feel better soon! I was asking about you this weekend. This weather is GROSS, and I am sure we will all be sick after a week or so of rain and yo-yo temps.

Amy, my bosses got "booed" this weekend and I went out today looking for the materials for them to make "Boo" bags. You would think it would be simple, but it isn't. I was tempted to go buy the Boo kit from Hallmark but I pieced together some things from Target. Since I am not sure what was in the bag they got I am not sure what is supposed to be in the ones we give.:confused3 I am also going to have to Google the little poem and see if I can print it out.

Easier said than done, I'm afraid.:guilty: Definitely a very sticky topic. I am reading "The End of Faith" by Sam Harris. I think it is interesting. They were discussing another similar book on the CB not long ago and I might have to go look for that one when I finish this one. We don't practice any religion because I have never found one that "fits". I am much better at pinpointing the things I don't believe than the things I do. One of these days I am going to take a "Comparative World Religions" class.

Jennifer - How are your beautiful princesses today?:goodvibes And how are you? I hope you are getting some rest here and there!

Jennifer - More "sticky" thoughts coming your way!!:wizard: I hope everything went well this morning!!
DH is a redhead (well, before he was bald he had red hair). DS's hair has a bit more red to it than it used to, but he is still mainly blond. DH was adopted so don't know about his siblings.:confused3

Deb - Welcome home! Sounds like you guys had a very magical trip! I can not believe you are attempting to read through everything we posted!:rotfl2:

I went to mail a package for Momboss and pick up some things at Target this morning. It is just nasty out. I don't mind it cooling off, but I do not like to be rained on.

In our Boo bag we received stuff like stickers, pencils and such. Just little Halloween themed goody bag stuff!

Eric's grandmother said there really wasn't many differences between Judiasm an Christianity when you get down to it.

Hi!!!! I am back!

We had a wonderful time!

Welcome home, Anne Marie

Welcome back, Deb, Chris, and Anne Marie!

Sounds like a great time was had by all! Can't wait to start seeing pictures (hint, hint!!)

Jennifer, how did the procedure go this morning??? We held a family prayer circle for you and Kyle this morning!

Marci - I hope you start feeling better very soon! What a horribly vicious cycle! Take care of yourself, or better yet, let your menfolk take care of you!

Robyn - Love the costumes! Lucy makes a wonderful as Dopey! Love the Evil Queen, too!!!

Thanks Glynis!

thank goodness everyone is coming home soon. it has taken forever to catch up. i have pictures from my nephews 1st birthday that i'll show later and pictures of build a bear. i first have to save all my pictures and that should take a while. it is cold here. its suppose to range from 50's in the morning to 70's in the day during the week. my attendant and my nephew and i might go to zoo boo this weekend at our zoo. cant wait.

Can't wait to see some pics!

Hi Marci :wizard: that you get well fast.
Thanks for the congrats

The High here in Austin today is 58 I think. We had packed shorts to wear home from the hospital. Jeff Had to run home and get pants for us to wear. Waiting for him to get back so we can go home.

:yay: for going home!

Can I just say that you guys are killing me? Over 100 pages since I last popped in on Wednesday afternoon!!! :rotfl:

But, I'm reading every word. You can even quiz me! ;) And, I'm on to all of your schemes!

Only 23 pages to go...see you later when I finish.....

And maybe this way I'll see how screwed up my siggie is now!

Really it probably isn't all that necessary!

Oh Denise, more :wizard: and 's headed your way.

Well...(I'm trying to think of something witty but my brain ain't working!)

Emma gets out of school June 12. We will probably go on vacation somewhere near the 4th of July. So I'm sure we'll have a chance to see each other. :goodvibes Maybe we can get a DDA meet in the works.

For those here for my car drama on Friday....My dear hubby signed an extended warranty without talking to me.....to the tune of $2111.....the man is a gigantic PITA sometimes. Since I have never seen the papers we are trying to get that removed....still not the $4000 but more than half.

Oh yeah, Virginia's arrival was pretty important! So I guess you all need to make sure you didn't miss anything else!!

here are build-a-bear friends(mine is the triceratops)

Great pics Karen! Thanks for sharing.

Elizabeth- You'll be happy to know that Lucy is loving Nightmare before Christmas. We are watching it and she is sitting here laughing and talking to the tv.

Well American Girl is about $500 richer right now. :faint: :sad2: Thank goodness it's not all my $$. But Santa is finished shopping for my niece, and I am a little closer to being finished with my ever growing holiday list. Emma's birthday present from Molly and Lucy is in there too!
