The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 30

I thought that maybe there might be news on Virginia by this time.

I work tonight, so unless I hear anything before then, I guess I will find out tomorrow!

F&W fest was super busy when we went too! All you could see were seas of people everywhere. And a few spots around the WS are narrow, and it would be a bottle neck there! The rest of EPCOT though was fairly crowd free, so we were able to do most everything else with little to no wait!

I put my ticket on "hold" while I wait for DS's miles to come through. They will allow a hold of 14 days on miles tickets! For purchases I think the hold is only 24 or 48 hours! So that's a good thing. I can put a hold on DS's ticket on Wednesday and that will give us more time to think before we commit. I wonder how many times I can place a hold on those same tickets?

Since Bernadette mentioned SpectroMagic, I thought I would share a few pictures of when we were there!

This is definitely a MUST see in my books!

One more picture before I have to go.

Leighanna riding the carousel with Dale, or is that Chip?

Your first choice would have been correct. That would be Dale.:thumbsup2 Chip has a Brown or chocolate chip colored nose.

Great pictures.

Thanks!

We went back to the zoo today, and most of the kids with those kind of costumes weren't wearing the hoods.

I'm going to date myself here (especially for Jen, Jen, and Becky), but remember those Halloween costumes that used to come in a box? It was a plastic poncho with a mask. Oh, the good ole' days! :rotfl:

I almost bought myself a Snoopy costume just like that on Evil-Bay! I was going to wear the mask for trick or treating with Terra. I had a Wonder Woman costume like that when I was 5.

No. Are you watching the game now? I usually go the Target at SouthBay off the expressway. It can be a 10 minute drive from my office but if traffic is bad it can take 40+ minutes to get back to my office so I don't go too often for lunch and traffic would of course be bad after work so I never do that. The one closest to my house in this direction is 30+ miles away so I never go to that one. There was a rumor that they were going to put one in between my house & office but that building has been vacant for over a year.

Yes, I was! I missed J.D.'s grand slam by seconds though as I had to make a trip to Sonic. They finally looked like themselves tonight. The second and third games that they lost they didn't look like the same team. That team last night it the one we need to face the Rockies! Now to just get past the Indians tonight.

Good night Heidi!

I think I'm logging off too. We have another busy day ahead of us tomorrow: church, pumpkin patch, Halloween fun at Parky's Farm.

I'm glad I didn't pack away the summer clothes yet...we'll be picking out our pumpkins in shorts!
Sweet dreams DDA!

Us too! There's something unnatural to pick pumpkins in 81 degree weather. It's much like my feelings about Christmas shopping the first winter we were in Southern CA and I was shopping in 70 degree weather.

I would suggest trying to go to the food and wine festival as far away from the weekend as possible. Lots of locals come just for the festival and they come in droves on the weekend. This was my experience in college so three years ago at a minimum but I would imagine it hasn't changed much. Probably the crowds have just gotten larger on the weekend.

Thanks!

you must not be too older than me because i remember those costumes. i remember star light costume vividly in my head even though i was never her.

Here is something else my SIL made for Lizzy. Emma tried it on in 2006 but she thought it was more of a costume-not something she'd actually be seen out of the house in. I did use this dress to get her to wear a dress to church on Easter. "You have to wear a dress today. Do you want to wear the pink one or the white one.";)

Popping in between Halloween events to check for a Virginia update.

Hope everyone is having a good day! :)

Ok, I could use some advice....

I originally planned on taking off work tomorrow after the transfer. There aren't really any restrictions afterwards, because - if you think about it - nobody goes on bed rest after trying to make a baby the traditional way (EWWWW!) and these things are designed to work out without lying around. In fact, most research suggests not having actual bed rest.

Still, I planned to take off just because I can :teeth: I was going to lightly clean the house, catch up on scrapping, etc. Just truly enjoy my day off, since Friday didn't count as one!

Then on Friday, we learned we have a huge audit starting Tuesday. We are absolutely not ready, because we were left high and dry by the director out on maternity leave. Now this audit is a) internal, and doesn't have true consequences except for preparation for state audits and b) can't be directly pinned on me since, though I do the work of 3 people, my actual job title has nothing to do with it and I was never actually told ANYTHING about it  (honestly!)

Still, I said I'd work. I'm "allowed" working, I figured I'd work, and do what I can by way of last minute preparations. Mostly so my business partner (who IS responsible for his half of the audit) doesn't freak out.

Fast forward to today...

After talking with my doctor, he said I of course am allowed working. However, most people take off and rest -- for mostly psychological reasons, with a bit of real benefit thrown in.

AAGH! So now I'm worried. If this cycle doesn't work, I will undoubtedly look back on working (and in such a stressful situation, no less). At work tomorrow, I feel like I would be a basketcase trying not to stress out at all, thereby stressing myself out more! :rotfl:

If I don't work, though, I have to call my partner and tell him that. And deal with the possible fallout, guilt, etc.

Should I go in a half day? Go in early on Tuesday and try and be as ready as possible by 11am? Not sweat it at all?

What horrific timing, honestly!
this is just my thought. if your appointment is later in the day. go to work for a little bit and tell them i will help some to help get stuff done but i have to leave and can't come back till tomorrow. then you will have gone in and helped but also you will have the afternoon to relax some. hope this helps.

Okay finally able to get on the computer.

So contractions started around 7pm last night. At 10 I decided to try to go to sleep to see if it was true labor or not. Well I never went to sleep. Finally at midnight I called the answering service for the Dr. 30min later I finally get a call back. Okay to head to the hospital. by this time they are 4min apart and a 5-6 on the pain scale.

We got to the hospital around 1:15 I was 4cm.

At 5am I was 5cm,

AT 8:10 When the Dr. checked I was still 5, so we decided to break my water. They broke it at around 8:30.
At 9:30 I was 6-7 completely effaced.
At 10 I was complete.

Virginia Kay was born at 10:12 weighed 7lbs 4oz 20 inches long.

I did it with no epidural or drugs. except for repair. I tore a little down their.

Olivia has been very possessive of her and not wanting any one else to hold her. My mom, Olivia and Jeff's dad finally left.

Now that I have the info posted I am going to take a nap. I have been up since 10:30 yesterday morning.. I will post Pictures later.

The kids sang at church this am, and then we had our annual church picnic. Rees didn't feel well, so we left before eating. We are going to try and go out to dinner in a few minutes. Hope everyone has a good night.

Elizabeth, you should find the book Go Hang a Salami, I'm a lasagna hog!

It's a small paperback book, fairly inexpensive if I recall, and it's made up entirely of palindromic sentences like that! It's by Jon Agee (sp?), and I believe he has others. :goodvibes
