Now that sounds like fun. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Katie is Sacajawea. She has to choose a person from American history to research and dress up as for a "wax museum" held on Halloween at the school. Should be interesting. She originally wanted to be Louisa May Alcott, but I really didn't feel like making a dress with a hoop skirt, and she already has stuff she can use for the Sacajawea costume. She's loving the research that she has found, and I think it will be really neat.

The entire 5th grade does this, and the rest of the school (and parents) attend the museum. The kids have to sit on chairs, and when people ask them who they are, they have to speak as if they are that person. It's really a neat thing! I'll take pictures.

well gotta fix my countdown later today! my countdown ticker is gone!

Off to work, then dinner, then drinks :)

have a great day!

Happy Birthday Jen. :cake: party: party:

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Jen, I see you fixed your siggy. I will leave this posted for anyone else that wants or needs to fix theirs.
----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Your signature will be limited in length. The program will do this
automatically and anything over the allowed length will be cut off

Explanation- the biggest complaint we receive is that signatures are too long and it takes too long to scroll through threads. We are going to start with a height of 250 pixels, you'll see what that means when we roll this out. We may add an additional option so that a signature only appears once per page.

2. You will be limited to a total of 25 images and smilies The program
will handle this automatically

Explanation- That should be PLENTY considering the amount of space

3. All content and links must meet DIS board posting guidelines.
Signature have the same content rules as any post on the boards

Explanation- Pretty obvious I hope, this includes commercial link, links to inappropriate sites, etc etc

4. You may not have a signature that is so wide it causes the page to
expand

Explanation- This is something the software can't control. Basically the only way to do this is to have a really really wide picture. If your signature means people with a normal resolution monitor need to scroll from side to side you'll be told to remove the picture causing the issue

5. We reserve the right to remove or modify signatures that cause
issues with the boards or slow page loading. Please make sure any images in
your signature are hosted on a reliable site. Any signature that contains
malicious or harmful code will be removed immediately and the poster
sanctioned

Explanation- Most of this should be pretty obvious. One thing people might not realize is that when people complain about the boards being "slow" it may not be us at all. When the boards load a page, if it can't find an image, it can make the boards appear slow.

We will roll this out in a few days, probably Wednesday. You don't need to take any action now, but you probably will want to check your signature after this goes into effect to see how it was affected.
If you have any questions on this please post on this thread on the tech support board, I will monitor those.

The Webmasters believe that these new, simplified rules will make the boards a better place for our posters and moderators.
Thank you for being a DIS boards member!

Good morning everyone. Hope you all have a good day. :)

Gotta throw a load of laundry in, be back in a few.

Tom - I see you are gearing up to list on EvilBay!! I hope the auctions go well! One thing I happened to think of, though. You might want to read through the rules about selling items with copyrighted images. I think maybe the Mrs. Potato Head dress might violate that. We don't want you to get in trouble with the EvilBay police!;)

Speaking of police, we had a SWAT officer shot in the neck this morning right near the stores where DH is working this week.:scared: DH saw all the emergency vehicles. The officer was serving a drug warrant.
DH took everything out of his wallet except his DL, his debit card, and his insurance cards. He is working in a rough neighborhood this week and he is really worried about being robbed. Realistically, he is being very smart. I would much rather just deal with the loss of the debit card than with multiple things. I would imagine DH would be more likely to hand over his wallet if he knows there isn't much in there.

I think that's good that he is being smart about it. One or two cards are much easier to replace than figuring out everything in there, plus cash, etc. :wizard: that he stays safe.

Good morning, DDA!

Elizabeth I found where to request an invitation. you have to chose a sponsor so I chose American airlines then it wanted my advantage miles number. Luckily I have that email saved because I'm not sure where my card is at the moment.

I wonder if I couldn't see the link because I am already a member? Anyway, I am glad you found it!:goodvibes I know my AAdvantage number off the top of my head, but I don't know DH or DS's.

hopefully Jeff will get the kitchen and bathroom floors swept and mopped tomorrow afternoon. I need to wipe down the baseboards and toilet in the girls bathroom I will do this Friday. I need to clean the mirrors in both bathrooms but not sure if I will because i'm not sure I want to climb on the step stool.

No step stools!

Happy Birthday Jen!

Happy Birthday, Jen!!

Yes please.

Got it. I have no idea how long it will take for the orders to arrive. I'll let you know when I get them and put them in the mail to you.:)

No knocking last night, but I am still tired this morning. Maybe because it is still DARK outside! Hopefully Princess will be feeling OK today. She has her gymnastics class this morning.

Safe travels to all the DDAers leaving today! I hope you all have a magical time!:wizard:

Robyn - Poor Lucy! I know my bosses threw out SOME of the meds they had fro Princess, but not all of it! Have you ever tried those homeopathic teething tablets? They are made of caffeine, but I have some friends who swear by them.:confused3 They just dissolve on the baby's tongue. DH used to work with a guy from Africa who said they would cut open the baby's gums with a knife so the teeth wouldn't have to push up through the skin.:scared: That sounds a bit extreme to me. Will she chew on a cold wet washcloth?

I used the Hyland's tablets with Terra and it was the only thing that helped! If you can't find the Tylenol, I would definitely recommend trying them. You can get them almost anywhere now so they should be easier to find now than when I used them.

I didn't get an email about the Mom's Panel yet one way or the other (though I don't expect much). I did however get this email yesterday. I took the survey and seem to have qualified to be on the panel. More info is to come in a the next week or so.

ETA: Okay, I did get the email and didn't get in. It was sent to my other email address. Odd since I used my gmail account on the application and that's where the acknolwedgement of the application was sent.

Crud. For several months I have been getting these "eRewards" surveys, and I have always deleted them. Tonight I decided to complete one on a whim. Come to find out I can use the reward points for airline miles on American!:headache: I can't even imagine how many $$ worth of survey credit I have deleted because I didn't realize the points could be redeemed like that. Darn! Well, at least I caught on tonight!

Do them! Do them! Do them! I've been doing it for about 4 months or so and have almost $70 in my account. And that's with only getting 50 cents for the probably 50-75% that I don't fully qualify for. I plan to use mine for Borders Rewards and buy Christmas gifts with them and then put that Christmas money on my Disney card.

Good morning, DDA! Hope everyone is doing well this day we will all be left behind. ;) :teeth:

Busy day today here it seems. We've got babysitting at MOPS this morning and then a homeschool group Halloween party this afternoon. I didn't think that we were going until yesterday so I had to finish Terra's costume last night. Still need to cut the holes and fix the arms, but we're almost there. At least that puts me ready for Halloween itself. Hopefully it all looks okay when I'm done, though Terra seems to like it and that's really all that counts.

Gotta hit the shower so I'll have to fix my signature later. Have a good one!

We're on the Magical Express!!! Beach Club here we come.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Our plane was early. We might just get to the MK a little pat rope drop. :dance3:

No time to read, just wanted you all to know we're here!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi Everyone, our plane landed early so we are getting an early start!!!!!

I am so excited but we are operating on 3 and half hours of sleep.

Will cfhat later

To all those traveling to and who are already at WDW, I'm not the least bit jealous, :lmao: Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

So Bernadette,

I kind of dawned on me this morning how close we are to our trips. I made some changes to my ADR's this morning to accommodate the Christmas party on the 15th. I wasn't planning on attending a party but I REALLY want to see the castle with the lights. Unfortunately I lost our dinner at Le Cellier, it is now a lunch and I'll check when we get there to see if a dinner opens up.

I have AK planned for the morning of the 12th, with dinner a WC at 5:00 pm that evening, after dinner we are pretty much free. Does this fit into the color coded matrix of fun to meet up that day?

I also placed my order from Garden Grocer, I gotta have my Dr. Pepper!

PS - Loved the pictures of Emma with Tigger!
