The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 3

Just stopping by to say hi! I still have to dip 10 dozen turtles (ewwwww! Are you reading Denise???) in chocolate.

Where'd the Hitler comment come from Marti? :rotfl: I eat at Chick-fil-a on a regular basis, and they certainly don't have a value menu! :rotfl:

And Kevin is sweet, but he's still not letting me go to WDW without him. But, I did test the "I'm in my fifth month of pregnancy...you promised to get me whatever I wanted" offer a couple weeks ago, and he got me some late night Wendy's. :goodvibes

Jennifer, I'm sorry you missed out on my Christmas treats. I only make peanut butter balls once a year. If there are some cookies leftover from Alyssa's party, I will try to save a couple for when we finally meet at the mall (for Chick-fil-a, Marti!!!) but I can't make any promises, because my family gobbles them up!

The suggestion to start mailing out my cookies reminds me of my favorite movie The Breakfast Club. John Bender says to Principal Vernon, "Hey, how come Andrew gets to get up? If he gets up, we'll all get up, it'll be anarchy." Since I can't afford to mail my cookies to everyone on the DDA, I won't mail them to anyone (except Dawn, but those were special circumstances :p ).

Amy :)

Plus Daddy is about 6'4" and 185 pounds soaking wet (Did I mention that he is on a Whopper diet and never seems to gain any weight? :furious: )

That is SOOOO my husband. He is 6" and 165 pounds. And the sad part is that he is losing weight without trying while I'm graining while trying to lose. How is that fair?!?!

And how many times can one person put Chick Fil-A in a post - that is just not right!!!

I didn't know we were cheapskates because we only have one computer! (Hey, my dad doesn't even own one!) I'm glad I didn't show you my world's oldest cell phone! :rotfl:

I think Alyssa and I will go to Chick-fil-a for lunch tomorrow...

Amy :)

Now for an update about Grandpa:
He had emergency dialisis today because of the kidney failure. Goes into surgery tomorrow at 6:30am to remove some blockage in the ureters (sp? It's the tubes between the kidney and the bladder..) Both are blocked due to the cancer he has. Depending on how well he handles being under, they want to remove at least one blockage, if not all three, and then try to remove some of the cancer to decrease the pressure. :worried: Now we just wait.

Sending pixiedust: and :grouphug: to everyone that might need one! Thank goodness the week is almost over!!!

Continued prayers that the surgery goes as they hope tomorrow! Keep us posted.

That is good news! Glad everything worked out.

I also noticed all the references to Chick Fil-A even after she promised she would cut back! I think you should take a road trip to Alyssa's birthday party to straighten her out!!!!

So, can I get the ginger tablets in a drugstore? My oldest, Katie, gets motion sick if I mention we're going somewhere in the car. We always have to take along an old, plastic ice cream bucket. I'd love to be able to have some of these on hand for her.

I got mine at Target a year or so ago. You could also get them at GNC or something. I used them for the first time two years ago on a 3 hour car ride. Usually, I can't make it more than 45 minutes without getting a terrible stomach ache and didn't have any problems on our 6 hour round trip (in the same day at that).

And that's a quote I should be using at this very moment! However, I need to catch up with my "family" first, right? Homework later, you guys, now!

Congrats on having such a great hubby! Alan used to do all that until he started working later. Now meals are all up to me except on the weekend. Then I will gladly step aside to let DH shine!

Yeah, didn't someone just say recently that family comes first then everything else. Well, I think that includes both your family and your "family" so you're doing the right thing. :teeth:

Wait, what was that about enablers just a little bit ago?

Out of curiosity I checked room availability & the only place that showed rooms was AKL. I definetly can't afford that :( Thanks for the hug, I feel a little better now :goodvibes

I don't suppose that you want to hear how I found a room for my last minute trip in Feb and found a room for someone else today when they couldn't get anything but deluxes for mid April? Oh man, there I go trying to enable again.

 major barf patrol going on here. Christopher has it BAD! Being a typical man in training he is a horrible patient! (just kidding guys) So far nothing makes him happy at all.

Oh, poor thing. I hope that he is feeling better quickly (for both your sakes!).

I have the worlds greatest husband! I went downstairs to get some dinner for Matt and Paul already had everything taken care of! He's the greatest. They went to a hockey game tonight - reward for a good report card from Matt.

I however, will be studying for my civil service exam on Saturday. I'm actually applying to three jobs and taking three tests - all Saturday. Two of the tests last 5 hours each and one is 7 hours -- how the heck can I do all that?? Not really sure, but I'll let you know how it goes. I feel like Glynis and Tink2020; I have to go and study now! (there's a phrase that I haven't used in nearly 20 years!)

Good luck! :wizard:

Babytrees-East coast time.
Glynis-Nothing has been removed yet. The doctors are hoping that if the blockages can be removed tomorrow in a relatively good time that they can remove some to relieve the pressure that they think is the cause of the blockage. (Boy I hope that makes sense..)

Sorry, I missed the original post.
I hope all turns out OK. Prayers to you and the whole family! :grouphug:

Yes, Marti, come back to Cincy and straighten me out! :teeth:

Hey Vicki, both you and Marti have my cookie recipe, and I've never heard how they turned out! I have a feeling Marti never baked them, but what about you?

Amy :)

The Match Day ceremony starts at 11:30 tomorrow. It will probably last around 2 hours, but we could find out at any time during that window. I'm not sure if we'll be going out right after or when I'll post, but I'll do it as soon as I can! :goodvibes

Your grandfather will be in our prayers tonight and tomorrow morning! Keep us updated, please :grouphug:

You are brave, very brave lol

Actually, there's a very funny story, there. The first time I went on it, I had my wallet with me (but no pockets in my pants to put it in). I asked my brother how I was going to hold on to my wallet and also hold onto the handholds. However, I was my pre-surgery weight, and when I sat down, I couldn't see any handholds. So, I just held on to my wallet really tightly. When we dropped the first time, I can't tell you how much air I caught. It was so frighteningly fun!

The next time I went on it, I held on to the handholds, but didn't have as much fun, so from then on, no handholds for me. However, my brother got a huge laugh at my expense. I'm sure I looked extremely funny as I was the only one not holding on.

Great fun! I can't wait to go back in June! Now that I'm skinnier, it should be a whole new experience.
