Now for an update about Grandpa:
He had emergency dialisis today because of the kidney failure. Goes into surgery tomorrow at 6:30am to remove some blockage in the ureters (sp? It's the tubes between the kidney and the bladder..) Both are blocked due to the cancer he has. Depending on how well he handles being under, they want to remove at least one blockage, if not all three, and then try to remove some of the cancer to decrease the pressure. Now we just wait.
I am so sorry!! Is the 6:30 East Coast time? I may be up 6:30 mountain or western time but definitely not east coast....I like to pray not only now when I read the problem but a specific prayer at the time. Helps me give direction to my prayer!!
So prayers and pixie dust coming that way!!
UP Disney said:Becky agrees with the ToT. She was terrified!!! She cried the whole time and couldn't stop. When we got off, she couldn't understand why she lost it but she sure did!!!! I'm not sure what I think about it because I spent the whole time comforting her. Didn't really have a chance to worry about the actual ride.
This trip we tried a hint we found on this board about ginger tablets for motion sickness. I used to be able to do all kinds of rides but as I'm getting older, I can't handle alot of motion anymore. The ginger tablets did the trick. One in the morning and one at night starting the day before we left. I was fine until I did Expedition Everest (What a fantastic coaster!) a second time in less than 15 minutes from the first time. I decided I'd wait until next year to try out RnR after that.
My DH has always had motion sickness and never rode coasters in his life. He rode all three mountains and didn't have any trouble. We will be recommending the ginger tablets to others. Dramamine always made him drowsy so he didn't like to take them.

Steamboat Marti said:Off topic - but Ellen - I have to be at Greece Olympia high school by 8:30 am on Saturday. Where am I going from Route 390?? (nothing like waiting until the last minute!!)
Steamboat Marti said:I feel like Glynis and Tink2020; I have to go and study now! (there's a phrase that I haven't used in nearly 20 years!)
Glynis said:So, can I get the ginger tablets in a drugstore? My oldest, Katie, gets motion sick if I mention we're going somewhere in the car. We always have to take along an old, plastic ice cream bucket. I'd love to be able to have some of these on hand for her.
Steamboat Marti said:Are you sure you can't make it? Even for a bit of it? Here's ain the meantime!
ellenbenny said:Olympia is North of Route 104, Ridge Rd. West. I would get off there (104) headed west, take the next right heading north on Fetzner Rd. The next traffic light will be Maiden Lane, turn right. Greece Olympia High School will be on your right soon after.
By the way, my son is a senior at Greece Athena High School, home of the now famous J-Mac. Thought you all might like to know.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program....
But you will ride it with Kate and I, won't you?????Steamboat Marti said:You are JUST LIKE ME! I love love love RnR and I can't stand ToT!!
