Yeah.... unfortunately, some people don't match at all. Everyone found out today if they matched or didn't (just generally). Those that didn't (often because of a competitive subspecialty or, to be honest, sometimes just stupidity on their part (ie only applying to rediculous schools, or only applying to one or two)) now have about 48 hours to find a spot. The national program that organizes this sends them a list of schools that did not fill all of their spots. They are then in contact with them (not sure about the details, ie if they have to go interview, etc) and secure a spot that way. So.... they still (usually) become residents.... just very rarely in a place where they are happy. And not before a bunch of turmoil trying to find a place, as you can imagine.

For us, though, it really means nothing. Lol.... I mean, we are glad to find out for sure, but it's very rare that the general programs (peds, internal medicine, etc) don't match... especially with how overly-cautious we were in applying!

So nope -- we aren't at our first choice (necessarily), just SOMEWHERE on the list of 10 programs we submitted.

Helloooo DDA!

We are back from another magical trip at the World, and I am unfortunately already suffering those post-Disney blues. I cried like a baby at the end of Wishes on our last night , and then wanted to commit bodily harm to all those checking into the Poly yesterday with their welcome leis around their necks!

And someone actually thinks I'm going to be able to wait until late 2007 to return?!?!?!

I guess the one good thing about being home is that I have something like a 100 pages of DDA chit chat to catch up on! However, as it might take me FOREVER with all the laundry, piled up crises at work, etc. - if anyone wants to give me a CliffNotes version, that would be great!

I know what you mean. I cried on our last MK day, when we took the ferry on our way back to the TTC. An also on our last night during Fantasmic.
The worst part is that we won't be able to make another trip until 2008 or 2009!!

Kevin & Amy, I've been meaning to tell you how much I love your siggie. It reminds me so much of my DD at 2. I have a pic of her sniffing snapdragons I believe that is very similar. I'll try to remember to post it tomorrow.

I have lists for everything - family camping, Girl Scout camp, Disney trip, etc. Some are alphabetical and some are by category & then alphabetical. I have them all on the computer so that I can update them after trips. I have two for our Disney trips - one for personal items each person needs to remember and one is for family items (such as binoculars for the Tree of Life). I get teased as well but it sure makes the packing less stressful (unless you wait until the last minute to actually pack the stuff on the list in the bags). Of course, if I didn't have the lists, I would have been more stressed before leaving for Disney!!!!!

I thought I was the only one!! I'm feeling a lot better now.
I make lists for everything too: groceries, birthday parties, Disney packing (divided in different groups too), Disney backpack packing, Baby packing, christmas presents, payments by month, etc., etc. A lot of my friends call me whenever they need something because they say I always have the info. needed right on hand.

I hope the mold situation is better and your office in not gross anymore. Mold freaks me out, it can make people very sick.

Hope you have a fabuolous time in Tahoe, we almost went this weekend, but DH has a bad knee from an accident this past spring. I haven't skiied in four years and can't wait to get back into it. WOW we could have had lunch together. Another time.

I would have loved having lunch! We'll probably be back again next spring break -- we love Tahoe.

Kristine - hope your afternoon went better than your morning did. Are you going to put it through insurance? And how come you think its your fault?

I don't know what to do...I have a $500 deductible. The insurance companies are arguing fault...I guess typically the backerupper is at fault...BUT she pulled in after I started pulling out...then there's the whole neighbor relationship issue to consider. I really just don't need this...BTW, I am still playing around to see if I can do this trip...airfare for me is pricing out at $300! From last night to today it is up $70.

There is only one place that I know of that sells a Dole Whip - Adverntureland in the Magic Kingdom - almost directly across from the Swiss Family Robinson tree house. Too bad you weren't able to get one -- but then again, at least now you are not addicted like I am!!! Welcome back - hope you feel better soon!

I really wanted to try this while I was there. However, when we were in adventureland, we bought a hot chocolate to warm us up instead. During the day was gorgeous but the first couple of evenings were chilly with the wind and that is when we spent our time on that side of Magic Kingdom. We never got back to adventureland again. I'm going to make sure that I get to try it next time.

Your designs look great and very original. I like Mickey and Donald the most. But the good thing is that you can do those with everybody's favorite characters.

So - some of you may not know that I am DEATHLY afraid of bridges - when I am on an overpass and can feel it moving I about pass out!! You should see me in San Francisco

so tonight on the Apprentice they did a shot of the Brooklyn Bridge (I think)and did footage superfast and you could just see the minimal movement of the bridge but it looked like it was just bouncing up and down - I thought I was going to pass out just watching it - my DH was cracking up laughing at me!!!!

Just wanted to share that Kyle did match. We still have to wait until Thursday to find out where, but we don't have to scramble! Keep those students in your prayers, though, that did not match. The next few days are going to be quite tough for them, one of Kyle's friends included.
