Congrats on your travel docs!

How's that new stroller working for you?

I love the idea of iron-ons for a valance!!!! I have been looking to do something for Ellie's room and couldn't find the fabric I wanted, but now I don't have to wait!!! I will "bench mark" (more AF lingo, it means use the ideas and change it to fit my needs) if it's ok with you. This will allow Ellie pick her own pics. LOVE IT!!!

Hi!
LOVE the new stroller  Kyle likes it too! (and DH took it for a spin this weekend at the local mall and reluctantly admitted that it is much nicer than the big travel system and way better than our cheap-o we got for the last trip (the one with the broken wheel!!)

The valance turned out really cute. But I did post on travelin gals thread about color problems. I ironed on a yellow street sign over a red background and looks kind of orange (the red started to bleed through :confused3 ). DH likes it that way though, since most construction signs are orange anyway!

Thanks everybody on all the compliments to my earlier posted design. I'll be happy to do a copy for anybody. Just PM me.

Monica -- your names look great!

Now, here is our other tee design. I'm thinking that the previous one is actually going to be a front of a shirt not the back. I just like it too much. That also means, the designing is complete for our trip. Yeah!!!

Now, I must crop picures for autograph books. Only 9 days left. But I've got to go to bed -- I do have to work tomorrow.

That is great, Kevin. I really like it!! I'll definitely be PMing you on the Mickey head names!

DDA, who has been the last week of October? We're thinking of changing our dates to Oct 28-Nov 4 at the Contemporary (Tower Magic Kingdom View). The kids would miss a week of Kindergarten, but I'm not that worried about it. The problem with the December dates is that their school and the school where I teach are in different counties. They have different vacation dates (the kids get out a week before I would). I'm not allowed to miss the last days before the holiday starts, and the dates we picked I would.

So, would you chance making my boss angry and keep the December trip (kids would miss NO SCHOOL)? Or would you go in Oct/Nov, not have a conflict with work, but the kids miss 5 DAYS OF SCHOOL. And, yes, our school district definitely does NOT approve of family vacations during school time. BTW, the price is only $100 different, so that is not a factor.

Oh, the dilemma!

We were there last year 10/25 to 11/1. We came in right after a hurricane so it was chilly the first day or two (chilly as in wore jeans and short sleeve shirts and light jacket in the AM) and had no rain until the day we left!!! We did MNSSHP on 10/31 and I didn't think it was too crowded (and it sold out that night) most rides were 15 minutes or less waits early in the evening and walk-ons later on. We did Dumbo and Buzz Lightyear 3 times in a row without getting off around 11pm. We loved it so much we are definitely doing MVMCP this year!!
Epcot WS was a zoo though with food and wine fest. Make sure you get ADR's- the walk up times in WS were more than 2 hour waits!
If you can get the magic kindom view in the CR than I say go for it!! As much as we love the GF, there is something really cool about staying in the tower with the monorail running though the building! (OK, I personally never stayed at CR but DH did as a kid and he still talks about it - and he's 32!! :rotfl2: We aree thinking about doing it when we take the surprise 5th bday trip in 2008 since that may be our last trip for a while :()
Plus, think of all the Chef Mickey breakfasts you can do!!!!

I can't believe it...I had a car accident with my neighbor this morning!!!!!!!!!!! I looked into my rear view mirror, it was clear...put my car in reverse and all of a sudden SMASH!! She pulled into my driveway the split second I went pulling out...I think by law it is considered my fault. My car probably has about $1000 damage..her car is in bad shape. I drive a Durango, she drives little car so I creamed her. I am totally depressed!

Oh no, Kristine! What bad luck. I'm glad that everyone is okay.

Well, did I have a day yesterday! My daughter and granddaughter were supposed to leave on Friday at noon to go to Norfolk to see my son and grandson. There was an oil leak in my granddaughter's car, so they had to wait until yesterday after it was looked at to leave. My daughter stayed overnight at my house (my granddaughter lives with me) so they could get an early start. Sarah (granddaughter) tried to wake her mother at 6:00, but couldn't really wake her - just mumbling. She decided that her mother was tired and that she would let her sleep a little longer. I got up around 7:15 and went into the living room where Melanie (daughter) spent the night on the couch. She opened her eyes and pointed to an envelope of oatmeal which she had left on the coffee table and said "mmmmmaaaaaaaakkkkke thaaaaattttttt." Her words were so slow and jumbled. I asked her if she was "shocky" (diabetic). She said "yeeessssss." I gave her a small Snickers bar and told her to eat that while I fixed the oatmeal. The weird speech continued and then she said she couldn't move right. I was so scared she was having a stroke or brain damage from the low blood sugar that I called 911. Her blood sugar level was 64. They gave her some liquid glucose and she recovered completely in just a few minutes. It was very scary. I've seen her in insulin shock many times over the years, but the speech thing was a whole new development. This was the third episode of very low blood sugar in the last month. The doctor lowered her insulin dosage after the last time, but I think it needs to be lowered again. I went out to the drugstore as soon as it opened and got some of that liquid glucose to have on hand!!!Anyway, they decided to go ahead and make the trip. About 2 hours after they left, I got a call from them. Sarah's car had "died." I had given Sarah an AAA membership, as it only cost $20 more along with mine, so I told them to call AAA and call me back. As it turned out, they were on the New York Thruway, and AAA towers are not allowed on there, so they had to have two tows. To try to shorten the story, it was the alternator, it can't be fixed until Monday, and I had to travel 65 miles last night to pick them up. They aren't going to Virginia, and my grandson is very upset. He just went to live there in November, is only 20, and has been looking forward to seeing his mother and sister. Sarah was very upset, too. I told her that there was a reason why all this happened. They just weren't meant to be on that trip at that time. We may never know the reason, but the Lord works in mysterious ways. Today we're all going to look at Matthew McConaghey in "Failure to Launch." Looking at and listening to MMcC always makes me smile (hey, I may be 61, but I'm not dead - I can look and enjoy!!). Have a great day DDA!

Wow! Glad it turned out OK!

Oh, Kristine, that so (insert filtered word here). I hope no one has any after effects (or affects, which is it Amy?). Hopefully all repairs will go quickly. I hope your day gets better.

You were right the first time Tammi. :thumbsup2

And, you can't post anymore, because your post count is 2222! :teeth:

Okay DDA - here are some trip details I wanted to share with you all

The plan has actually changed to fly in on the 18th and out on the 21st - so Tammi and I have been doing some research

if no one else joins us Tammi and I will probably stay at the pop (Marti will be staying with Hunka and Matt) - but we have some others interested and I thought if the following information tempts any of you....

We got a good deal on a rental car or minivan - and if enough people are interested Tammi and I think it would be fun to stay at a villa close to WDW!!!

here is the breakdown of the cost to stay by the number of people coming - this includes your lodging and a car rental that we would share - this is a rough estimate based on decisions that would be made once we have firm numbers - before we make the reservation - we would need firm commitments - the sooner the better!!!!!

6 people - $86
5 people - $103
4 people - $129
3 people - $162

or we could stay at the pop and for every room it is $124 pp for the three nights - if we have odd numbers we would have to think about sharing a bed - and then just figure $25 for the rental car - putting us around $150 pp to stay at the pop

Boy, I sure would love to go, but after airfare and park tickets it is still more than I want to spend right now. Plus DH still isn't going for it :sad2:
Have fun!!!

Did you miss me? :rotfl: I had a wonderful, fantastic, awesome trip. The weather was in the 70's and sunny all week. A little windy but I'll take that over the 6" of snow that have already fallen this morning. We visited all 4 theme parks several times each, played at both water parks, enjoyed shopping at Downtown Disney, relaxed at our resort and caught a performance of LaNouba.

I met Lindsay (Tinkaroo) & Jonathon at the La Nouba performance. It was wonderful - she is a very nice person. My daughter wants me to tell Lindsay that she & her husband are gorgeous - Lindsay I've now told you. Lindsay & I got our picture taken together and I'll post that when I get it from my DD20. She has all our pictures downloaded on her laptop and because of flight delays had to leave immediately upon our return home last night for college with no time to burn a CD before she left - she didn't make it to the dorm until 1:30am.

No time to catch up now (899 posts in 60 pages). I have to catch up for work first. I'll be on later to see how my DDA friends are doing. I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone. Take care. Vicki

Ok growing up in Illinois I had my fair share of near misses with twisters.
With all that happened this weekend.
I still have family there.
All are accounted for safe & sound.
I know we have a few DDA in the areas affected.
Does anyone know if all are ok? :confused3
Please check in.

I am way north of last night's tornadoes. However we are having 35 mph steady winds today. And of course it is garbage day, so I let the dog out this AM and found my trash cans at the end of the block about to blow into the rentention pond (looks like many of my neighbors are not so lucky :sad2: )

Are you sure it's just from the cat???? Or does she hear you tell that to Kevin? Hmmmmmmm

You guys crack me up!

I just popped in to say hi - just finished my first assignment and emailed it to my tutor, if there's any spare pixue dust around can you sprinkle some on my assignment, it's been a long time since I studied and that was hard work!

Thought I'd say Hooray for Rees, and all you blood donors out there :cheer2:

Glad there's someone else around to help with the DDA quizes :teeth:

And whoever mentioned glow in the dark transfer paper - I'd love to hear how that turned out -I saw some on ebay last year and was tempted... that'd be sooo cool on the haunted mansion if it glows the way white stuff does in there - and on Buzz for that matter...

On that note I'll stop rambling.. I'm off to watch Smallville :goodvibes

BTW I'm still reading message from Friday! I have a day off on Wed so I'm planning to catch up while watching the High School Musical
