Hi there!! I love that slogan!!

I would love it to be ours but we live in my grandparents basement....2 bigger neat freaks you will never meet!! Although we have never been great housekeepers we are getting better and I would rather raise happy girls than make them feel like we were living in a museum!!

Hope your washing machine gets fixed quickly and cheaply!!

We lived in my grandmother's upstairs for a year. She was also a neat freak. As long as we kept the main areas of the house clean she didn't complain about the upstairs. We had 2 rooms for 4 people, 2 dogs and a cat. It was tight, but we saved lots of money and were able to build our own home. She later moved in with us when she couldn't take care of herself. She got used to a "lived in" house.

Ok, I should be more specific. We live with my in-laws right now. (Long story.) It is my MIL's machine. It did give her a little trouble earlier today and so it wasn't a big shock. But, dang I hate it.
My MIL basically lives at her DD's an hour south of here so she can help with her handicapped son, so she's only home on weekends really. (She left today.)
In-laws ARE clean freaks. I guess that's our motto when we are on our own. lol. We are in the bedrooms upstairs. DH & I in one. DD3.75 & DS 17 mo in the other. It works out fine. So it's worse. It's MIL's machine. lol. Of course it would stop with me. But they are great and will act like it would have happened to anyone.

We've used Manchester, Hartford and Boston. Manchester is the easiest, Hartford and Boston are both larger so they are a bit more difficult. I think that you'll be fine wherever you end up. It's a trip to Disney, how bad can it be?

Deb

I really liked Manchester last Aug but we flew on a Sunday and since I'm south of Boston I'd have to drive through Boston to get there so that won't work well on a weekday.

I read an article in Sunday's Boston Globe about regional airports and they said that Providence was a bit more confusing then Manchester. I know I'll be fine-especially since I'll be there 2 weeks earlier with 2 other adults. And I can't complain about the fare-$115.60 RT non stop for early May and $135.60 RT non stop for mid May. I was a bit reluctant to try Southwest but I really like them when I did use them last Aug.

I understand. I hope that it is something that can be easily fixed. I know that I do 2 - 3 loads per day. No washer would be a nightmare, especially in the winter months.

We are going on 3 years here....my grandmother is a bit of a headcase and her children do not have much, if anything, to do with her. I know why we are here...my grandparents need watching and it's really convenient for the rest of the family not to worry if we are here but sometimes I know where my migraines originate. I am one of the sandwich generation (taking care of children and grandparents). Plus the basement is bigger than any apartment we could afford!!

I have used a clipboard my last two trips and it would work way better than having them paper clipped in my opinion

the characters need something solid to sign on - the clipboards are more solid than books and have always worked great for us!!

Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking a clip board would be easier but the ones I saw at Staples had large "old fashion" style clips. I found one at Walmart that had a newer lower profile clip and bought that. I think it will be easier to have just the card(s) for that character(s) to sign vs trying to keep a book open. Have you tried printing on index cards or do you just use card stock?

Good night all!

I really ought to go to bed but I've just had a funny thought...I need to find some "clip" art to decorate my "clip" board. :rotfl2:

OK I must be tired- I am going to bed now!

I have a great clipart for the clipboard - it is actually a checklist of the characters - it is on my other computer - I will post it tomorrow or later tonight - if I forget - bug me about it

I always print on cardstock - the only 4x6 I found had lines on it

Ok, here goes. "Grab shell, Dude." I feel like I'm in that scene in Finding Nemo where Marlin & Dory are facing the swirling vortex of terror? Squirt says, "Good afternoon, we're gonna have a great jump today! Okay, crank a hard cutback as you hit the wall! There's a screaming bottom turn, so watch out! Remember: rip it, roll it and punch it!"
But anyway, I'm doing it. I'm finally jumping in on this thread. It's kind of intimidating. lol.
I've posted on this board a bunch. I've posted on this thread once. Tonight, I'll be up a while. Here I am, doing my final postings for the night and I hear the washing machine make a funny noise. I go over there and it's not spinning, it's not agitating. I had to (with help of DH) ring out the entire load and am running them in the dryer in thirds with dry towels. ARGH! Call the repair man tomorrow. So, anyway, I'm up and here I am.
I hope you can get it repaired inexpensively. :wizard:

GOOD NEWS!!!

Dh's company got the contract I told you guys about last week!!! :Pinkbounc He will be working a lot but we will get a nice bonus when all is said and done!!!!

We will see a lot less of him - but it will be worth it!!! Hey - guess that gives me more time to DIS, design or make bags!!! :thumbsup2
Congratulations. :sunny: How exciting. A little extra money is always nice. :teeth:

HOLY COW!!!

I just reorganized my files -

I have 472 designs in my design gallery -

I have 268 names in my name gallery

I have a serious problem!!! :lmao: :lmao:

This doesn't include any designs that I customized with a name or date -

anyway - my files are now totally reorganized - I have a design gallery and a name gallery

I was thinking about organizing my custom designs into categories but so many of them overlap I wasn't sure what to think - do you all think it would be easier to have them divided or leave them in one photo album?

I am going to bed now!!

Deb-got a question for you...what age does Cub Scouts start? I think my DS(5) would really love it. Does it start in K like girl scouts? He'll be in K next year.

This may have already been answered...

Cub Scouts starts in first grade with Tiger Cubs.

Welcome! We've had the same thing happen twice. Once with an entire load of diapers...that's a lot of wringing. The first time dh repaired the washer. The second time, we decided that it was time for a new one. Good luck with yours.

SNIP! I was also thinking of putting something like "Celebrating Lizzy's 7th Birthday" on the top of all the cards and "Walt Disney World May 2006" on the bottom. The only problem I see with this is that I won't be able to use any of the cards we may not see characters for on a future trip. I thought doing the "celebrating...." text might get Lizzy (who can be shy) a bit more attention.

Kate has said that when she made autograph pages with "Happy Birthday, Julia!" that they really helped get more interaction. She said to at least make sure that your child's name is on it. I think it would be worth not being able to re-use the cards to have the chance of extra interaction (especially if Lizzy is a little shy).

That sounds perfect!

Staples has a 500 pack of plain 4 x 6 index cards for $4.58. Their brand of card stock is 8.98 for 250 sheets so its about 1/2 price and I won't have to do any cutting if they work out ok. I haven't actually purchased them yet so I don't know if they are the same weight as card stock but I think I'll give it a try and let everyone know.

Thanks Beth! And thanks again for customizing your design for me!

Beth customize her 100 Acre Wood design for me to make a T for Lizzy to wear when we celebrate her birthday at CP. She also made a 2nd version of the design for me to make a card. I am telling my kids I'm going away on "business" in early May. I just can't tell them I'm going to Disney without them. So when I go in early May I'm going to have the Pooh character's sign a card for Lizzy (Can't wait to celebrate your birthday with you...) and send her the card and T from the characters. She will be 7 and she still believes the Pooh characters are real. She'll believe til she's 20 if I do this. I think she really knows because she'll make comments about other movies (Monster's Inc, Incredibles, Dinosaur...) being just pretend and she understands fiction/nonfiction but she's not ready to give up Pooh yet. And I'm not either. She said one of friends told her she wouldn't like Pooh when she's older but I said I'm old and I still love Pooh.
