Thanks for the prayers and pixie dust everyone. Phil's appointment seems to have gone well. He came out with a prescription for the depression and anxiety and is on his way to fill it now. Hopefully, there should be improvement there in a few days. For everything else, the doctor advised that he eat a "normal American diet" for the next month and then come back for a full blood work up. Since Phil has been on various supplements based on previous doctor's direction, the doctor wants to reverse that temporarily and get an "unbiased" set of tests.

The other part of the good news is that Phil found the doctor to be a good listener and respectful (something recent doctors haven't really been). Hopefully, this guy will be the one to help us find some answers.

Oh and more from the good news front...we finally got word at work about our performance bonuses from last year. It is looking promising that the amount my be enough to pay for October trip! I tried hinting that maybe we should use it to may for an extra trip for my birthday in May, but I'm not sure how well that went over. Maybe I can convince Phil that the 3rd anniversary is the "Disney" anniversary or maybe that it's the "finally take a honeymoon" anniversary. Hmmm...probably not, but a girl can dream. :)

This is awesome news!!! all around.

If the third is the "finally take a honeymoon" anniversary I am due five honeymoons now!! :rotfl2: Jim and I will celebrate 15 years in April...Maundy Thursday to be exact...we have had two overnights were both of us were away from the girls...they were both one nighters so I don't count them!!

Tia - that sounds like great news!!

I also have GREAT news to share - my brother and SIL are expecting their first baby on July 1 -

they found out today they are having a pirate: - I am so excited!!! Nick is too - Julia not as much - she was hoping for a girl!!

Poor little guy! I feel your pain. Leslie has a blanket that was made for her when she was born. She has carried it around every day since then. I've had to sneak it out of her clutched hands to wash it. It is now a ratty thing, torn, losing it's batting, etc. Just really sad looking. Anyway, she's been coughing into it the last couple of days, so I had Alan take it away from her so we could wash it. She just about went to pieces. I finally took her into my room, opened my cedar chest and took out my special baby blanket (39 years old, now, yikes!) She took it to bed with her, and it seems to be doing the trick. However, when I peeked in on her, she raised her head and asked for her "favorite blanky." I'm just hoping it holds together in the wash. It will be just my luck for it to fall all to pieces. Here's hoping the pillow comes out all right, and Nick is able to sleep. Here's also hoping that you and Steve get some sleep through all this tonight. Good luck!
my dad at the age of soon to be 59 still has his favorite blanky and still sleeps with it. especially when he is sick. i think its soooo cute. a few years ago my mom recovered the tadered(sp) old thing.

My first thought was, why in the world would the boys have to learn the Can Can????? Any other dance I could see, but absoutely not the can can.
What steps does the male do in the can can???

You will cry on the first day of preschool, the first day of grade school(still shed a tear every year) but my worst day (so far!!) for  was Cassidy's first day of Middle School. I can not imagine what next year is going to be like. :( :worried:  .

Kyle will more than likely not cry if he doesn't see you cry....but I find it's the mom's who cry the most. Though i did have one child who cried constantly for almost a full two months (I only taught him once a week)...until mom finally got the hint that he wasn't ready to be in school.
I warned Nicholas way ahead of time that I would cry on the first day of Kindergarten, which I did, and explained to him why I would. Then I asked him if it was okay, and he said "sure, but I'll be home at the end of the day".

Tia - that is wonderful news. I am especially happy for you that your DH is willing to seek help. So many people are in denial when they have problems. Good for you all!

Kate - congrats on being an aunt again!!

Theresa - Yay for Abi!!

Marti - You brought me good luck today. My title and deed were waiting in the mailbox when I got home!!

Yeah, I figure I'm dreaming on this one. I'm actually saving all of my "honey, I really want you to..."s for getting him to go on our big family trip in May 2007. In the end, I know he'll go because he knows this is a trip that I have been working on bringing to fruition for five years now. It just takes negotiating of other trips so that there aren't too many airplanes in any given amount of time.

I am very lucky in that area. Phil is very atuned to him mental and physical well-being and doesn't hesitate to get help. Part of the problem recently was that he was trying to follow one set of doctor remedies, but they weren't cutting it anymore. Hopefully this one will work. He came home and went straight to the pharmacy to get the meds filled.

Glad to hear that. Now I have a question for you. What do you do with a smarty pants kid at the age of 2.5? DD#2 is a bit advanced and I have no idea where it came from. I also have no idea how to handle / channel / keep her going. She knows her letter for the most part by sound and sight, speaks very well, can count up to mid 20's. She has been going up the slide ladder sense before she was a year old. She doesn't stop at all. People say WOW she is so advanced and how old is she? Mind you she is only 20 lbs and looks like she is about 18mths on a good day (yes rather small).
I will take all the info folks want to give about having smarty pants kids, I need it.

Tia -

the first time Steve went to WDW with me - I had to force him to go -I was pg with Julia - I had been without him and can you believe we had a trip a year earlier and chose the cash instead (I am not willing to discuss this) so when we were going to visit his parents I talked him into a day and a half in Orlando -

he LOVED LOVED LOVED our day there and we actually bought DVC -

now he says that Disney is his recharger and when he is in a funk it can lift him out of it -

I really think if you could talk Phil into going - he would get that same sense of letting go and being able to be a kid again - and seeing Terra there would only make it better!!!

I was lucky that my two little smart ones - had a speech delay!! :lmao:

they have to concentrate on how to say things!! No surprise here that both of my kids are pretty good on the computer - I can put Julia online and she can make cards, play games and navigate websites - this has been a great thing for her and me!!!

I just really encourage reading to them, games and independent imaginative play -

She sounds like Kyle (who will be 3 in June). He knows the make and model of more than 50 different cars (both matchbox and when he sees them in real life! "No. mommy, that is the h3 Hummer- it's the little one!) He recognizes store logos so well DH swears he can read (yes, at age 18 months, he knew the difference between Home Depot and Lowes :lmao: ). He too can count into the 20's and has known his alphabet for almost a year. He also knows 10 or more colors etc.
What have we gotten ourselves into?????? :rotfl:

Terra is very similar. Honestly, my best advice is to just let her go at whatever pace she is/wants to. I will give Terra information that I think she is ready to understand, but whether she learns it or we keep going is up to her. Lately, I will sound out words for her. Sometimes she isn't interested and I just stp. Other times she'll want me to go on and on. I believe in just following her lead. I'm not one to push her to learn or do more, but just provide an atmosphere for doing so when she wants to or shows interest. Terra just turned 3, btw.

This is more or less what happened with my DH. I never expected him to relax and enjoy it so much but he looks forward to it as much as I do. It is definitely a recharger. He is serious about buying DVC now but we just have to get our finances worked out (since we have one in college & another one there in 1-1/2 years).
