I may have found why I've been so sick for so long.... I normally get a sinus infection about every other month, but I've had three since December. I went to my allergist, who wasn't helpful. My internist is actually who has been seeing me for the SI's. I told him that I was sick of being sick, so my husband and I had bought an elliptical for the house, both for better health, weight loss, but also because the doctor's said it would help thin mucas etc.. I also bought one of the Ionic breeze machines because they are supposed to help. Then I told him I was going to have the airducts cleaned at work. It's a building dating back to 1910, and we've been in it 17 years and never had them cleaned. He told me not to do it. Well, I went ahead anyway because I felt like it was better to get all the stuff out of there.

I scheduled it for Saturday, so if it did stir up a lot of stuff it would die down by Monday. Well, they called me 30 minutes after they started the job to tell me the main duct that branches off to most offices was full of mold/fungus and they couldn't clean it -- it would have to be replaced. What am I most allergic to -- mold/fungus. I'm really hoping once we get that done that most of my sinus/allergy problems will ease up.

While I'm sure it's not a good idea not to follow doctor's advice, I'm glad this time that I did ignore it.
Yep, it's a good thing they found it that stuff can make anyone sick even without allergies. Hope that things improve after this. :wizard:

Thanks, also to Steffy and Deb for your comments! :goodvibes

Clare (and anyone else)

Here are some wedding pictures! I did my best to narrow them down... I took out most of the candids from the reception, but there are still sort of a lot. I started with so many..... so it was hard! :rotfl2:

I won't be offended if you just skim through! I really just appreciate you asking, so I could share them!

Wow, your wedding looked picture perfect. I bet you had a lot of fun. Everyone was beautiful and what a large wedding party. Thanks for sharing.

Hi DDA friends... I am popping in to tell you that I am OK before anyone thinks I have disappreared. My dog has been ill the past two weeks and Thursday we had to take her to the vet for a hospital stay while they ran many tests to find out what was wrong with her. DD19 was beside herself because this is "her" dog. So DH and I drove to Richmond Friday a.m. to bring her home from college for the weekend. She wanted to be here in case we needed to make any decisions about Button. Turns out my dear little terrier has Addison's Disease. It is treatable with medication that is HORRIBLY expensive, so we are going to see how it goes over the next few months. We brought her home Saturday afternoon after paying a $500 vet bill and a $75 pharmacy tab and DH took DD back to college this afternoon, in a much better state of emotional health :)

Meanwhile I have been working 7 days a week with extra lessons and recitals and have managed to get the cold/virus/yuck stuff that is going around. Sore throat (fun to teach music with no voice!), cough, headache, sore throat... all that fun stuff. But it is getting better.

To top it all off, we got hit with about 7 inches of snow and had to cancel 10 recitals today and there is no hope of making them up. So I am scheduling additional private lessons to try to make sure the kids are all ready for Festival. So... I have absolutely no time to read my DIS!!

If anything important happens, someone PLEASE PM me so I don't feel as if I am Rip van Winkle in a few weeks when things start to slow down. And I will send PD to everyone who is sick and best wishes to all who are traveling.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY in case I don't get back here too!

I'm sure it is true in many places. Ours just includes lots of snow and cold! ;) We had 44 degree weather one day and had over 6 inches of snow the next day! Nuts!!!!

I can do you better....it can be snowing in the front and sunny in the back!! Or 70 deg one day blizzard the next!! This was both in Billings, MT and here in CO. We always add....or walk a block!! :rotfl2:

But good to know when shopping for my nephew!!

I'm playing catch up again. It's been very busy around here, but I'm not really sure why? :confused3 . The Nor'easter that hit the "entire northeast" missed us completely. We ended up with barely a dusting in central VT. The weather here has been so strange. We have had no snowmobiling, sledding or winter fun here. Any skiing in Vermont is on manmade snow that has to be replinshed at night because we are getting 40+ degree weather many days. When it is warm out the kids can't go out to play because everything becomes mud and if it isn't warm it is so cold that going out is no fun. We are so ready for Spring.

The kids came home with a note from school explaining that they are having school spirit week this week. They are supposed to dress to a daily theme. Monday is Formal dress, Tuesday is PJ day, Wednesday is heritage day, Thursday is Disney Day :thumbsup2 , Friday is crazy clothes and hair day. They have dress shirts and ties for tomorrow. Tuesday is another issue. My kids are very warm blooded so they usually sleep in their underwear. They have one piece fleece sleepers for when they are actually cold and they have shorty pjs for when they actually want pjs. They told me that they can't wear one piece pjs as they are to babyish and obviously it is too cold for shorty pjs. So we talked about me making them some sleep pants and designing t-shirts to match. Long story short I ended up checking JCPenney's to see what they had and walked in on 75% clearance and someone leaving the store handed me a 20% coupon. I found sleep pants for $3.09 a pair after all the discounts. I bought other pjs and shirt and sweatshirts for next year. I found a pair of NewBalance sneakers for $5.59 for Colby. I ended up spending $215 on about 60 items for my kids for next winter and saved over $1200. I was so happy. :cloud9: Gotta love a good deal. I ended up buying Nick a pair of orange sleep pants with chopper style motorcycles on them and Yu Gi Oh sleep pants for Hunter. I bought an orange long sleeved ringer T for Nick and a light blue sweatshirt for Hunter. We spent the evening making designs to iron on their shirts. This is what we came up with:

To go with the orange chopper sleep pants:

To go with the blue Yu Gi Oh! sleep pants:

I put Hunter's name at the bottom. I was trying to make it look like the Yu Gi Oh! logo. They really like them and I think that they are very practical for school. I'll try to take a photo of them wearing them on Tuesday.

I am usually a serious procrastinator as well. My DDA friends have made a major difference in my life. You all make me want to get things done so that I can show it off to you. Thank you all!!!!! :grouphug:
