Janet - Well, I didn't see anything I needed on Disney Shopping. I am trying not to buy pins that I want to keep, because that's where we got tangled up last time. We spent a ton of money on EvilBay buying pins we wanted instead of buying traders. Now I am bidding low on whatever. I actually got a pin yesterday for a PENNY! The one order I am still adding to is averaging $2.36 per pin, which is just barely more than we would have paid Darlene & Nena. But 1) they are sold out and 2) they have a tendency to send really cool stuff that we want to keep.

It is my absolute intention to stay at WDW from Aug. 2-18 next year. I HOPE DH can get vacation Aug. 2-11, then DS and I will move to Pop and stay another week. If not I guess DS and I will go Aug. 2 and DH will get there Aug. 9 and we'll move to AKL for the end of the trip. DH said we'll need $1000 worth of pins for a trip that long. Hmm. I hope not!

I woke up at 5:15 AM. DH is off so he was still in bed. It is hard for me to sleep when he doesn't get up at 2 AM like normal. Then the stupid helicopters came. Lots of them. Right outside. DH got up and went to see what was going on. Carjacking suspect was outside about a block away. He was kind enough to come this way after shooting 3 people, one of them a police officer. Now the highway is shut down, the helicopters are still out there, and the carjacker shot himself. All the traffic they are diverting is coming right into our neighborhood, so I guess I better scoot so I have plenty of time to get to work. Grrr. Lost my last hour of sleep AND now traffic. Happy Monday!

Glad to hear you made it to work OK. Is tonight a late night for you? Can you nap when princess naps?

I am now "officially" on Vacation!

Thanks to all of you for the Hunter did not have a fever and there are no signs of pneumonia...yet. We will continue to keep an eye on him, but he does seem better today. I even took him to school after the appointment since there was no reason for him not to go. He even had his appetite back. The doctor even offered to take an xray if it would ease my mind, but I said I was ok with her assessment and I would continue to keep an eye on him.

Glad he's feeling better!

Bernadette - Princess will nap at school and the housekeeper will be here this afternoon, so no nap in the cards for me! We are still trying to figure out what to do about Princess and her nap on school days. She does sleep at school, but she doesn't sleep long enough to get her through until bedtime. It is almost impossible for me to put her down at home on Mondays because the housekeeper is here running the vacuum and so forth. I REALLY wish she could come clean in the morning, but apparently she's not available then.
Hopefully tonight won't be too terribly late. Dadboss didn't have to go out of town so somebody should be here by about 7 PM.

It was kind of funny in August. We traded a TON of pins when we first arrived, but by the end of our stay we weren't seeing anything we wanted to trade for. Most of the Hidden Mickey pins were duplicates of ones we already had, so DS and I came home with a handful of traders we didn't use. I think we had maybe 70 pins each to begin with. We'll bring about 40 pins each in December, and then we'll start stockpiling for next summer. Even if DS and I stay for 16 days I doubt we'll trade pins every day. DS gets tired of his lanyard and won't wear it.

The news is on. They said the officer who was shot is fine - she didn't even realize she had been shot. She thought a piece of the spike strip she put down to pop the guy's tires broke off and hit her. The other 2 victims are in the hospital, one stable and one critical.

You mean that people are already packing? I am usually the one that has everything packed months in advance, but I really want to travel with just a carryon so I'm waiting until the day before as I want to know the predicted weather, that could completely dictate what we bring. Of course we arrive a day after most of you, but at least we'll get to meet everyone if only quickly

Becky and Jennifer - Welcome home to both of you. I can't wait to hear about your trips! How did you like AKVs, Jennifer?

I hate to do this so thoughtlessly, but I'll copy a PM I sent with the answer. I'll have more later!

The villas are gorgeous (albeit a bit small), but let me say this - I will NEVER stay at a newly converted DVC again. I think it's one thing if it's built from the ground up, but we had about as interesting a chain of events as [Lindsay] in regards to AKL CM's not having a CLUE about DVC! Thankfully, our run of bad luck was just in the area of lodging -- everything else went well. I plan on writing a thread about our stay (the good and the bad), I'll let you know when I do! But it was chaos, involving points going into holding, front desk CMs unbooking and rebooking my poor mother several times, wrong info about dining, linked reservations, etc. They were all WONDERFUL hotel CMs, but were vastly under-trained with regards to the workings of DVC!

ETA: I'm sure, especially after people like me call the kinks will get worked out soon!
