The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 29

I'm home alone tonight. The boys are all at my parents and Chris hasn't gotten home from the car show in Lake George, NY that he went to today. My house is so quiet, well except for my cat who seems very vocal tonight. I found his light up catnip ball so he has been playing with that.

We did some cleaning and then went and picked up a new to us refrigerator and dishwasher. Then went to work for a carnival where I fell off the steps trying to get into the dunk tank...so embarrasing...my knee gave out on me. I got an almost instantaneous headache and a bruised ego but I think both will eventually be okay.

Elin - I forgot to say earlier that Bob's family will be in my thoughts!

Heidi - Enjoy your new TV! The one we have in our living room is one we bought over Labor Day weekend when I was pregnant with DS, so it is 12 years old. The one in our bedroom is even older than that. DS has a TV/VCR that I bought when Dillard's phased out their electronics dept. maybe 5 years ago, but it is a teeny little screen. Those flat screen TVs are NICE. We'll have to think about getting one, but it wouldn't fit in our entertainment center very well.

Tammi - Congrats to Nicholas on his goal!

We just came home from the party at my bosses'. It was nice. Lots of good food, and the families are all very nice. And of course Princess got to see DS, which thrills her to no end. I do wish we had taken separate cars becasue I would have stayed to help them clean up. All those toddlers made quite a mess. The housekeeper comes on Monday, so I guess they can pick up the worst of it and she will mop and so forth.

DS crashed into the sliding glass door at the party tonight. In his defense that door is always open. DH and I were outside when it happened. I went inside and saw DS's eyes were watering. When I asked him what happened he said he ran into the door. There were a LOT of adults in there when it happened, as well as some teenage girls who were helping to look after the toddlers, so I am sure he was terribly embarrassed. I'm sure it hurt, too, because his nose took the worst of the impact. I very nearly ran into the door myself, so I can see how it happened!

Heidi, I don't know how you can even think about cleaning this early in the morning. I have only had one cup of coffee. I can't even tackle getting in the shower yet, let alone cleaning something!

Both our adult cats are downstairs now, so things are looking better Mia acts likes she has lived here her whole 8 weeks

Janet - Sorry about the shorts. If I see any on clearance I will let you know. I'm glad Mia is settling in! Arabella is just a terror. Aurora growls and hisses at her constantly, even though we have had her almost 4 months. Hopefully your other kitties will adjust to Mia quickly! Good luck on the truck! What a pain!

I did not have time to check ours today

We've been to 3 PO this morning. The first 2 had no idea what I was talking about when I said clearance. "they hadn't received and email". I went to our home post office who had told me about he sale and she showed me the 40 page email that she had printed. She said the other offices just don't read their mail. The pins are $.99, but it is only the pins on blue cards, the pink cards are this years version and are not on sale. Some of the prints, magnets, bags and post cards are also on sale. I bought a pack of Mickey post cards that were originally $5.99 for $1.99. So I managed to buy 5 pins and my Mother has bought 8 so far, but she's still out hunting.

Janet - have you tried any skorts? I find them to be a tad longer and little more flattering to my legs...

My second load of laundry is done and I am headed outside to mow the lawn before it gets too hot.

Bob is in PA this weekend. He missed his father's 90th birthday late last month because of a project deadline at work. He had planned to go this weekend anyway, but we are very glad he went.

His Mom had emergency surgery on Thursday. She has had a recurrence of her colon cancer and has to have a section of the colon removed and a colosotmy done. Things are not particularly good on his homefront, so good thoughts winging their way to PA would be most welcome. Thanks.

I finally had good luck at the Eddie Bauer outlet-they had a style that worked for me that wasn't online. Do you have an outlet near you?
