I got all my laundry done yesterday even that which arrived home via UPS during the week.;) I got all the suitcases put away and got all the "Disney stuff" back in the "Disney stuff box". I still have some misc stuff to put away but mostly it is put away. I put the kids rolling (travel only) backpacks away and decided I should just keep the acitivity books and stickers in them. Lizzy's backpack is pretty much packed for November. :thumbsup2

And...I don't think I mentioned that I got a total of $50 Jet Blue credit in the last week for my January flights. I had paid $114 each for our return flight. It dropped to $99 so I got $15 each and then a few days later it dropped to $89 so a got another $10 each. I'm hoping that the flight down will drop but it is still $144 each. I could have booked that at $89 if I had booked when the flights first came out but Jet Blue's schedule didn't include my return dates at that time.

Elizabeth,

I hope I'm wrong but I thought the online AP rate with the dining card was was for a minimum of 5 nights....

We have the AP rate with the Dining Card at AKL for 2 nights next month. That is the minimum stay for this promotion, I believe.

I'm thinking of taking Emma for her first Mommy & Me trip in the spring. If I took her the last week of April I could use my current AP. I was planning on 5 nights Sun to Fri. My pass would be good through the Thursday but I would probably take an early afternoon flight home anyways so not enough time to go the parks that Friday.

I am concerned that that week may still be busy. Our April vacation would be the prior week and there may be a few folks taking a few extra days. AND that weekend before we arrive are grad nights-don't know if they will still be hanging around that Sunday or into the week.

SO....I'm thinking I should go the following week and just renew my pass. Then I will HAVE to keep going.:rotfl:

I will probably fly Jet Blue as I've been very happy with them and their schedule is only open through February so I have a little time to think about it.

It says 2 night minimum. I went back and looked after I got off the phone with them. It says 2 nights, between these certain dates, call and give them the code FEM or book online. That's what I did and it didn't add the dining card. If people booked online thinking it was included then Disney is going to have some hopping mad AP holders checking in.

I believe that the CM who booked AKL for me said the online code is FEM but I think she booked me under a different code. It depends on whether or not you are in a Value, Moderate or Deluxe. Anyway, the code on the AP website didn't work when I called, but she found it for me.

Thanks Jennifer, I needed that empathy.:grouphug: :grouphug: I think we are both in for true 'test your faith' type seasons...

I work with a ton of Steeler fans, so I'm prepared to go in and take a pounding....:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Well, I have to make sure you understand I'm not a Browns fan! As a Cincinnatian with ties to the Steelers as well, I was rejoicing at todays game. But even then, I felt so sorry for Romeo on the sidelines, looking like someone killed his puppy... not to mention the somber fans throughout their own home stadium! :guilty:

As I've said before, though, a large part of my heart is in Oakland, and the Raiders would ALWAYS provide a 'test your faith' season for me! I just can't follow them closely since they are never on TV around here.

Just keep in mind that it's only Week 1! :goodvibes

Elin - I have a second-generation 30GB iPod, as well as a more recent iPod nano. Kyle has the first-generation shuffle (the white one that looks like the size of wrigley's gum). We are Mac people, but absolutely love our iPods.

BTW, I was thinking of you (and Tammi!) watching the Steelers v. Browns game today. The Steelers looked moderately decent, but what a confidence builder to start the season! I'm glad Ben is back to himself this year! :thumbsup2

The real football question in my household, however, lies in tomorrow night's game. The times are changing, finally, if the Bengals have the first Monday Night Football game of the season! It's going to be a blast, if nothing else!

ETA: Regarding the iPods, I meant to add that we rarely use the shuffle. It is great for size in comparison to the regular iPod or video iPod, but the lack of screen is very annoying to us. I know some that don't mind, though. The shuffle (or any window-less mp3 player) is fine if you have a smaller playlist, know exactly what is coming, etc. (ie, great for a run or something along those lines). Without the window, though, you have no control over what you play if you can't remember exactly what is on your player.

Ellen-my SIL gave me a 30 GB video ipod for Christmas. I was a bit at a loss of where to begin with it and it came with a little piece of paper as the instructions. I finally find the web site link for the real manual on that piece of paper and downloaded the 75 user manual. It really is SO cool! I loaded a bunch of music, purchased a few TV shows for the kids and even a movie, added a few (50 or so) favorite photos. Only used 3 of the 30 GB even with a full length movie. The video quality is outstanding! Joe really loved watching a show on it at night in the room or on the plane. I honestly don't think I would think it was as cool without some sort of screen to find the music. You can search by type, album, artist, title. Didn't Apple just come out with a new ipod with a bigger screen that is cheaper than the one my SIL gave me?

The newer iPods that come out tomorrow indeed do have some upgraded features. But, oddly enough, as I went checking out the specs I discovered that the old ones have a 1 year warranty and the new ones only have a 3 month one. Hmmmmmmmmmm

I will take the window into consideration, Bernadette, thanks. And Theresa's link to the 2GB Samsung one her DD has has made me consider that one as it is on sale at Best Buy for only $10 more than the 1GB iPod Shuffle with no window.

Jennifer - see my post above about the new iPods... makes me wonder why they are only offering a 3 month warranty on them.

As for the Steelers (and the Bengals and the Redskins)... I would be happy to watch any of them win a game. And 2 of them did today! :goodvibes Bengals on Monday Night Football smacks of the days of Chris Collinsworth and Boomer!

Heidi- :wizard: for your mom. A new 42" lcd :cool1:

Elin- :wizard: for Bob's mom as well. Eric has the 30gb video Ipod and loves it. The girls love it as well. He's had it for a while now and the novelty hasn't worn off yet. I want one desperately but can't justify the $$ when I am home 90% of the time and usually only listen to music in the car.

Jen-:wizard: for your grandfather. A  for you. Emma and Molly say Hi!

Theresa- Ouch!!! Hope your not too sore. Keep up with the Motrin.

Lindsay- Sorry you're under the weather. Hope you get well soon.

Elizabeth- I hope DS's nose isn't too sore.

Janet- I hope that you are able to get the issues resolved with the Jimmy. Very frustrating.

Tammi- :cheer2: for Nicholas' goal!

Chanon- Love the shirt idea!

Bernadette- :yay: on the airline credit and the laundry.

's and :wizard: to those I missed!

I edited my above post to echo the thoughts on the importance of a window in the player.

I grew up with those Bengals, and it has been entirely too long! We are going to 2 games this season, which is not too bad considering they don't sell any single game tickets anymore. That's unbelievable to me! You are back to paying big bucks, or having/knowing someone with season tickets!

The story I got was that it should be code FEV. What boggles my mind is there is NO BOX to enter a code online! Hello? Why are there different codes for online booking if there isn't anyplace to enter a code online?! I know there isn't place to enter it, because I looked twice. Stupid, stupid.

Bernadette - I think Grad Nights are mostly attneded by FL residents. I could be wrong.
I just now managed to put 2 more suitcases away. I have one more that can go somewhere, I just need to decide where to put it. It is my carry-on, and I will need it for December. Theoretically. Supposing we have a workable ressie for December.:rolleyes1 I want the suitcase to be where I can grab it easily, not nested in a bigger suitcase and buried in the back of the closet.
I would REALLY like to go to WDW May 3 for that pin event. I am pretty sure my bosses aren't going to France until June, though, so I don't know if I could get the time off or not. Not to mention those flier miles are WAY harder to redeem than they should be!:rotfl:

Interesting thing is that if there is availability online it CAN be booked by phone. So, why don't the same codes work? :confused3

Ok, back to work. I woke up in panic mode because my list of things to do before we leave Saturday is 3 miles long, and today is my last day off to accomplish any of it! I'm notoriously bad at getting things done after work.

Have a great evening!

I was annoyed with this offer too. I will be there 11/8 to 11/13. If I checked in 11/11 I could get the $20 card. I tried to tell them I would be there for 2 nights-11/11 & 11/12 but they said I had to check in on 11/11 so I'd need a seperate reservation. I didn't think it was worth the hassle of going to the front desk for $20 let alone the RISK that we may be asked to move.

I thought you just had to check in sometime during the week of the offer.:confused3 Oh, I see. Your offer STARTS 11/11. Our week starts 12/9, so it is my understanding that you can check in any night that week for a minimum of 2 nights and get the card. It isn't worth a huge altercation, but it is kind of the principle of the thing. They have the offer out there and they are making it so confusing that not very many people are able to use the offer!:headache:

Well, in my case it COULDN'T be booked by phone!:rotfl2: They said it wasn't available! I have a feeling this is about to become one of those "Should have left well enough alone" situations.:rolleyes1
If we have to scrap the whole ressie and start over I don't know where we will end up! I guess at that point I will just tell my friends our ressie was really messed up and we had to change resorts, they are welcome to change or they can stay at Pop!

OK, get this! If I put in our dates 12/12-12/16 at AKL it gives me a Passholder rate AND it shows $75 Dining card included! When I put in a duplicate ressie for Pop 12/11-12/16 (what I currently have reserved) it does NOT say Dining card included! How bizarre! Maybe we should move to AKL.:rolleyes1

just don't lose the cord:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Cassidy can't find hers.
