Tom... ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!! for you!

Deb - thanks for the good health wishes for Kristin. :)

Elizabeth - thanks to you too, and lots of patience wished for you and DH as you go through this work fiasco. :flower3:

Marci - that is a very long day with lots of things to accomplish. I hope you can get to the cemetery because I know how important that is to you today.

I am going to get Gary a gift certificate to have his Jimmy cleaned & detailed. He actually gave me this idea when he was telling me about a guy at work getting one for Fathers Day. This is perfect for him, the truck can look pretty bad after sitting at some of his job sites! Actually this is all he will get beings we are going to Disney lol

I need to think of some small items for the boys that I can ship & be able to bring back with us :headache:

For Alan's stocking, I usually stuff it with stuff he'll use for his hobbies. He loves to hunt and fish, so the big stocking stuffer is his combo hunting/fishing license. I'll give him some lures, bait, hand warmers, a new orange hat, etc. I'll also give him some cologne, a jar of his favorite nuts (madadamias), and a few candy goodies. Hope this helps!

They just want to do the ride along & this is a 1st come 1st serve basis. I told Gary they would have to get there early!

My dad did the RPDE and loved it. My parents were going to pay for me to do it, but when we got there, they were already booked. I would have loved it!

Tom, I hope you get out of there soon!! :(

I'm making progress on my bedroom :cool1: Colby has been cooperating which is making it easier. I even pulled a couple of things out for our trip :goodvibes

I washed all of our bedding yesterday which is what spurred my cleaning today. I managed to throw a load of misc bedding in today. It feels good to get some things done around here. I'm hoping to conquer the basement and garage this weekend.

Kathrin got a good pathology report from her doctor today. And, Bob's Mom came home from the hospital. Thanks for all the good wishes. They worked!

Kristin has opening night for the first Main Stage production of the year and she (along with most of the cast) has a NASTY cold that settles in the head and chest. Send good healing thoughts their way, please! The show is made up of a lot of monologues!

Yay for good reports! Much :wizard: for Kristin - both for health, and for her show!

well i told myself when crocs first came out that they were ugly and i'd never buy them .. now that i've checked out the princess croclings and the McQueen caymens .. depending on when i find the best "deals" on them the kids are getting them from either Santa or the Easter bunny .. and i might have to get a pair for butch and I as well .. even though he'll tell me .. "i'm not wearing those stupid things" we'll see ..

DH and I said the same thing. I now have about 5 pairs, and DH has 2 pairs of the sandals. We both  them. I was having problems with my feet cramping on me from running around in heels all day, and find if I wear Crocs at night and on the weekends, it has drastically reduced those problems. Also, when we were at the MNSSHP a coupe of weeks ago, my parents and DH (all wearing sneakers) were complaining that their legs/feet were bothering them by the end of the night. I had on my Croc Mary Janes, and not only did my feet not hurt, but they were relatively dry, too. :thumbsup2

Stephanie- I loved Dirty Sexy Money too!! Hate the title but it had me caught up before the first commercial. The Big Bang Theory did the same thing on Monday. First tv season in a long time that I have had more than one must see from the beginning of the season.

I'm going to have to check this one out, since both you and Stephanie liked it!

Good morning, DDA!
Today is going to be a LONG one. Tonight I am babysitting for a family who are going to see "Lion King" at the Music Hall, so I probably won't be home until midnight. Princess has gymnastics this morning, then a haircut later this afternoon. Not too strenuous.
DH is very cranky about his job. He is going to tell them today he wants to apply for specialist. They are supposed to start interviewing for that tomorrow. I don't know when they will decide who gets the slots. If he doesn't get one then he SHOULD look for another job, but I bet he won't. He will wait to see just how horrible the route he gets will be. And mark my words, if it goes that direction the route will be horrible.:scared: I told him he better go look at the board and see what the revenue on the absolute LOWEST route is, then he needs to decide if we can live on that salary. The one kind of cool thing about being a specialist is that he can still bid on routes that come up, he just can't start on a route until his term as specialist is over. If he wins a route they will "hold" it for him. Which gives him time to bid for different things and MAYBE not be trumped by somebody who has been there longer. So we'll see.:rolleyes1

Everybody have a good Thursday!:)

I hope your day isn't as long as you're fearing. Lots of :wizard: :wizard: that DH can get the specialist position - that sounds like it would at least be a step in the right direction.

I just made breakfast reservations for the new Character breakfast at Tusker House :thumbsup2 Hope to hear some reviews once they start! I also made breakfast reservations at Trails end. We are hoping to go horseback riding, but I have to wait till 30 days out to book this. If we can't get it, I will cancel Trails End.

I am also on the look out for the Richard Petty Driving Experience tickets to go on sale. I know a couple of years ago they had them almost 50% off. Gary & his DB are wanting to do this. So if you hear anything, please let me know!

Sounds good! :thumbsup2

I have one as well, and have been really dreading it! When I pick the boys up from school, we are headed to the pediatrican's office for their flu shots, then we have to race home to change so that I can get Jake to soccer at 5:30, then I hope to have time to run out to put flowers at the cemetery (today would have been Mom's 66th birthday), get back in time for Andrew's soccer practice and wait until it's over (hopefully I'll fit in two laps around the 3/4 mile track), get homework and bath's done, call the Mother of the evil twin at school who is bullying Andrew and getting them both in trouble, and then answer all of the work e-mails sent after I left work, load software on Dad's laptop so he can take in on his trip, and get ready for the day tomorrow. On top of all of that, I'm having Lindsay's problem of increased traffic on the drive in to Dallas. I try to be at work with the office open and ready to go by 6:30, but it looks like I'll have to try to get up earlier and try to leave the house by 5:30 or so, as my 40 minute commute has slowly been increasing. I wonder how long it takes for the people who don't leave K until 7? :scared1: On that note, I best get back to work!

Have a good day everyone! :)

Yikes, Marci - you have me exhausted! So sorry to hear that your commute is increasing, too - I hoped that maybe with your position in the metro area, that maybe yours wasn't that bad. I guess it's no wonder that DFW is ranked the 5th worst for traffic congestion. :sad2: After finding the beauty of the light rail yesterday, I had to drive myself to work today to have my car for a dinner with a recruit tonight. Boo - took me 75 mins. to get to the office today! :headache:

So, while I've rearranged our Epcot day, I now have to rearrange a few other. We are going to MGM Wed, seeing Fantasmic at 6:30 and then checking out the Osborne Lights afterwards. Then the next morning I am considering hitting the EMH at MK, and Bob and his DD would leave later that afternoon to head back to VA. I need help making a dining decision for lunch for that afternoon. We already are eating at CP and CM, so those 2 are out. Tony's is good, but no WOW/fun factor. Any suggestions?

ETA: I made an ADR for WCC. Should be fun for the kiddos!

I'm kinda liking this revised schedule better than the original! ;)

That sounds like a great plan! :thumbsup2

It seems like some of you had a much more productive day than I have so far.

We are still in Dayton until about 11:30. We then go to Atlanta, change planes, and possibly get to Orlando by 3:30 p.m.

So much for spending the day in Animal kingdom.

We will be lucky to get to the Poly in time for our 6:00 ressies for O'Hana.

We all had the Hawaiin Mickey postcards shirts and Leighanna had the matching dress for tonight. I don't think that we will get our luggage to our room in tme to change. So we will have to wear what we have had on since about 3:30a.m.

Looks like one of our days parkhoppers will go to waste.

We did get a $7.00 voucher for a meal as compensation! (Where's that smiley that says Whoopie! when you need it?)

I really hope the rest of the trip is better that the beginning has been so far.

Also, because the airline had to squeeze us in, we will not be able to sit all together. They did get two seats together so that Leighanna doesn't have to sit by herself, but the rest of us are all scattered about.

Sorry for the long rant, but I am about to go crazy. The lack of sleep, is getting to me. I knew that once we hit Disney the tiredness would be replaced with excitement, and we would be good to go!

Waiting around an airport for 7 hours is not great on only a few hours sleep.

Talk to you all later, hopefully with better news.

Tom - I am so frustrated for you guys! That is just terrible. Is it bad weather in your neck of the woods? It didn't appear that the weather in Florida this morning was anything to speak of.

A thought for other airport delays like that - some airlines will sell day passes to their airport clubs. I realize it's more $$ out of your pocket, but it would make a 7 hour delay with a child much more enjoyable! (They usually have some sort of free snacks, drinks, etc., plus comfy lounge areas, tv's, etc.) Jonathan and I did this when we had a long lay-over in LA on our way to Kauai - it made the time fly by!

Lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: that you're on your way now. I would check with the front desk when you get to the resort, and see if there's any way that extra day you won't be using could be taken off your passes.

I hope the rest of your trip is filled with nothing but magic!!!!

Great progress, Deb! Want to come to my house? ;)

I stopped at Walmart this morning before work and picked up some clearance shirts for the trip. I think I did pretty good - three short sleeve shirts for $12. And I think they'd be good for some of the dinners! They are a little more "dressy" than parkwear. And I think another one I can wear to PI or Jellyrolls. Still looking for a black tank top! Looks like I'll be going to Old Navy sometime this weekend! (Their tanks are on clearance for $5 right now!)

I am thrilled about the pins! Did I tell you about my new ringtone? "This Is Halloween". I downloaded it yesterday.:)

Great photos, Jennifer! Can't wait to hear all about the trip!

I was thinking about you yesterday, Elizabeth, as we rode Haunted Mansion Holiday at DL. I tried to get some pictures, but don't know how well the inside ones turned out. I'll post them when I get home.

I just completed the LAST outfit for our vacation, I promise!

I thought of Vicki and Tia the whole time I made this. I remember them talking about the Mr. Potato Head parts, and making lists for them.

Here it is, I think that Leighanna will wear this to H&V lunch.

The applique that I stole from a too small tshirt that Leighanna had, also came with pieces that you can stick to the face via velcro.

Here are a couple of different faces that I did.

I made a pocket on the skirt to hold the pieces when they aren't in use.

Time for bed!
Good-night all!

So cute all around!! The pocket for the pieces was brilliant! We love our Mr. Potato Heads. Terra and I are always building new "statutes" for display. Maybe I will go by that Mr. Potato Head shirt (just like Leighanna's!) from Cracker Barrell after all and turn it into overalls or something like Terra's.

Hope you have made it by now!

Here we sit at the airport,,,,, At least an hour delay.

We are supposed to be in the air right now on our way!

Less time at the parks. Doesn't Delta realize that I HAVE plans for this afternoon?

I guess we will get there when we get there!

Have a great day all!

Hopefully next time I talk to you all, it will be LIVE from Disney!

I would love to, but unfortunately, it ain't gonna happen. The DDA trip is at the same time Alan and I will be in New Mexico. We've been invited to attend a Storyteller's Conference in Santa Fe by a client of Alan's. Alan will have to work, but I will get to attend the conference and sight see with a friend of mine. Best of all: NO KIDS! Yup! 4 whole days, kid free!!!

Sounds great all around, but especially after your last 5 or so weeks. I was so happy to hear there was a verdict yesterday. Hope that means all in home or will be soon!

I just had a nice chat with Jen. She is well, but having a difficult time dealing with her Grandpa's diagnosis. I told her to get her butt back her and to lean on us. I'm sure that most, if not all of us have been through similar things. Come back Jen. We Miss You

I'm so glad you talked to her, Deb. I was thinking of her earlier today, and realized that she hasn't posted in a few.

Jen, many prayers for you and your family right now! We'll be here when you're ready. :wizard: :grouphug:
:

Jen - We miss you and can help you get through this. Come on back and talk to us!
:

Jen , :grouphug: :grouphug: we're here for you when ever you're up for a good old post off :rotfl2:
..

Jen sending you lot's of
!

Jen -- sending PD to you. Let all of the wonderful people here help and support you.

Hello everyone-I am on my lunch break and was catching up and i am so touched by all your responses...I cant believe i havent been posting for a week or so by now. I have bee nreading along every day and have been thinking about you all.

Im sorry for not posting lately..just having a really hard time and didnt want to whine and bring anyone down..so here i am--thanks for being there..as always

Jen sweetie, you won't bring me down, if you wanna talk just PM me.

OMG Tom,

I'm livid for you!!!! :scared1: :scared1: Hope you are on your way soon!!

Tom, I am so sorry! This is the other prong of the Disney curse - flight delays or puking child - we always get one or the other. I hope you guys make it in time for dinner!:wizard: Tell Delta that when your friends were delayed like that on an American flight they were credited with 6000 miles each. Don't know if you do the Delta miles program, but you could toss it out there.

I was able to change our CP package to our second night, since I hated for us to miss that. We are still eating at the Coral Reef (haven't tried this one yet) and we are seeing the 6:45 show. Our narrator is going to be Steven Curtis Chapman instead of Chita Rivera. I think that is a plus.

We all really enjoy Coral Reef. I'm glad you were able to juggle a little bit. Are you still going to try to change dates or stick with what you have and juggle what you can?

I just made breakfast reservations for the new Character breakfast at Tusker House :thumbsup2 Hope to hear some reviews once they start! I also made breakfast reservations at Trails end. We are hoping to go horseback riding, but I have to wait till 30 days out to book this. If we can't get it, I will cancel Trails End.

That's the breakfast I booked yesterday. I hope it's good.:)
I'll let you know if I run across any RPDE discounts.

Marci sounds like a very hectic day for you! :wizard: that it all goes smoothly

Pace yourself, Marci!;)
I babysat for this family when they went to see Wicked so I am sure I won't be home much before midnight. Hopefully their little guy will go to bed without a battle!:scared:

So, while I've rearranged our Epcot day, I now have to rearrange a few other. We are going to MGM Wed, seeing Fantasmic at 6:30 and then checking out the Osborne Lights afterwards. Then the next morning I am considering hitting the EMH at MK, and Bob and his DD would leave later that afternoon to head back to VA. ETA: I made an ADR for WCC. Should be fun for the kiddos!

I'm kinda liking this revised schedule better than the original! ;)

We'll be at MK for EMH on Thursday, and we'll stay there all the way to the end of MVMCP, so maybe our paths will cross!:) We had fun at WCC for breakfast, so lunch should be fun, too. When will Bob know for sure if the court date is firm? It would be nice if they delayed it so he could stay and fly back with you guys!

I got toe warmers on clearance at Target on Tuesday for $.78 each (4 in each pack). We had hand warmers for MVMCP last year, and I figure the toe warmers will work just as well for DS to put in his pockets.

Elizabeth - thanks to you too, and lots of patience wished for you and DH as you go through this work fiasco. :flower3:

Thanks, Elin. DH called me at 9 AM to say his supervisor is going to go to the Regional Manager and plead for DH to be allowed to keep his route. Any spare PD in his direction would be appreciated. I think it is really ugly to keep leading DH on and giving him false hope. His supervisor doesn't have enough pull to get the big guy to change his mind. I think it would have been FAR better to get authorization for DH to keep his route FIRST, and then tell DH he could keep it. Telling him they will TRY is just mean.:sad2:

I was thinking about you yesterday, Elizabeth, as we rode Haunted Mansion Holiday at DL. I tried to get some pictures, but don't know how well the inside ones turned out. I'll post them when I get home.

Cool! I hope you guys had fun!:)

Jeff does not like to fish or hunt. I had thought of those ideas.;) Unfortunately he does not wear cologne much either. still has over half a bottle from last year. Candy is a good idea.

What are his likes, his hobbies? Can you incorporate something into a stocking idea? Maybe gift certificates for a carwash, or coffee or something like that?
