So after getting Brer Bear's autograph, it was return time on Peter Pan so off we went, gotta love those fastpasses. Our time was limited today so we wanted to do Brandon's favorites so we were headed in the direction of Buzz when we came across the White Rabbit and the Queen of Hearts, we would have been first in line but it took me a minute to get our the cards for them and people took advantage of that and cut in front, I did let a couple so that I wouldn't hold up progress, but I put my foot down after that. The girls in line were told that they would have to curtsy to her majesty and the boys would have to bow. :rotfl: Brandon handed teh White Rabbit his card first and the Rabbit showed it off to the Queen, she made the "Off with your head" motion to him, then when she got hers she underline the pharase, "Off with your heads". (it's Clare's page)
You can see Brandon is leaning towards the Rabbit here, he did bow though.

We stopped at Sunshine terrace and got Brandon some orange juice, (one of his favorites) and decided an Icee would be great in the heat, (can you tell we are Icee fans?) Brandon asked if he could go play with this globe while we were finishing our drinks and I said sure, you see these adorable looking children in the picture with him? They are horrible acting, mean kids. They were hateful to him, and the little boy pushed him, I know it was wrong of me, but I really wanted him to retaliate, the kids parents didn't say a word to them, and to solve the situation I just called Brandon away and we went for our final ride on Buzz.

IMG_2877.jpg

And yes we did take another Zurg jail picture, but I'll post this guy instead of that one,

IMG_2878.jpg

Buzz was signing autographs over by COP when we exited, Brandon was so excited to find out that Buzz uses a Laser Stamp for autographs, :rotfl:

IMG_2881.jpg

From there we went to TTA, this is the perfect ride just to take a break. When we went through Space mountain I explained to Brandon that it was another rollercoaster that he wasn't quite big enough to ride yet, you could hear the people screaming on the ride, and he told me that he is NEVER going to ride that one. We still had our fastpasses from BTMRR when it was down earlier and were hoping that it was running again. As we went by the Teacups Brandon asked to ride again, he also wanted to ride Pooh, Pooh had a long line but the teacups didn't, so I grabbed fastpasses for Pooh and the boys got in line for the teacups.

IMG_2889.jpg

We headed over to Frontierland, and the train was rolling. :cool1: Brandon would go Woooooo, and then get real quiet during the ride. As we were exiting we were chanting Choo Choo!!!!! Love that one too!

It was getting closer to our ADR time so we headed back through Fantasyland, stopped and rode Pooh with our fastpasses and went around by the Tommorowland Terrace to make it down to Tony's. The parade had already started but hadn't made it to Main Street yet, there was still plenty of room curbside, but I think it had more to do with the heat. We made it to Tony's a little early and had time to stop and watch this,

IMG_2891.jpg

It was way too hot to stand in the sun so we were standing back in the shade, when the clouds came out, it was an immediate relief. This lady passed right in front of me. amd I thought of Elin as I took this picture,

IMG_2906.jpg

As the parade ended the heavens opened up, but we were right there at the restaurant so we checked in and went inside to wait for our table. It didn't take long before we were seated at a table in the outer dining area where we could see what was going on outside. All the rain that we hadn't gotten all week was coming down at once. People were running out of the park, one poor girl's feet came out from under her and she fell hard, two CM's went and helped her up, she was walking but I know she was sore the next day.

We took our time with lunch, in hopes that it would slack up. No such luck, so we browsed around the camera shop when we came out. Brandon noticed this Princess and pointed her out to us,

IMG_2910.jpg

Are you wondering why it's PawPaw in the picture with no Brandon? Well, he wouldn't get anywhere near her, and hid around the corner while we got her autograph. She saw Brandon's birthday button on my bag and told me Ha[[y Birthday, I told her it wasn't mine and she asked who's it was. I told her it was the little boy hiding around the corner. There was noone in lone so she went around the corner to wish him a Happy Birthday, when she got close to him he took off running. Pawpaw had to run and catch him, he was headed out the door into the rain. Brandon is not a cryer, he gets mad and won't talk to you, but he rarely crys. He was crying his eyes out and said he wanted to go HOME. Remember he wouldn't go near Kim Possible, and Ron Stoppable, he also wouldn't have anything to do with Alladin, so after pondering about it we have come to the conclusion that he is afraid of the face characters, I don't understand it, maybe one day he'll explain it to me. :confused3 I broke down and bought us ponchos to get back to the resort, they are already packed in the suitcases for our November trip, we take them to the parks for the "wet" rides when it is cooler so hopefully we will get some more use out of them. The water was like a river pouring down the hill as you exited the park so all of our shoes got soaked, but we all know never to go to Disney without extra shoes so that wasn't a problem.

It was time to start packing when we got back to the room, which wasn't bad because I unpack when we arrive and load the dirty clothes into garbage bags as we take them off. I throw in a fabric softener sheet to help with the odor, I also bring a stain stick, which I used a lot this trip, and as the bags fill we start packing them into the empty suitcases.

Our carry on was loaded down with chocolate.

I didn't do much shopping at all, (but I did make a purchase at the Christmas shop at MGM) so I left the boys to finish up with Brandon's bath and headed over to the gift shop. I needed a phot album for Brandon's autographs, I got him a book for his pressed pennies, and I picked up a stuffed Minnie, and a Mickey head necklace for Maddie. Maddie loved them, she really is a sweetie. Since we had an early dinner and he really didn't eat much I brought Brandon back some milk to drink with some cookies before we went to bed.

We called it a night pretty early, I had a 2:30 am wake up call.

One more installment after this, departure and some final thoughts.

HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY STEPHANIE!

Thank you all so much for the just beautiful birthday wishes.:hippie:

I'm going to go scrapbooking tonight. I know we should just stay home and use our room, but I like to get ideas from other scrappers. So tonight it is!

Hugs and pixie dust to all in need. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Debbie - I LOVE the White Rabbit/Queen of Hearts photo! I so hope I can find them in December!! I'm sorry those kids were mean to Brandon! We were walking through the Pirates queue and a kid (Old enough to know better) took his forearm and SHOVED DS over to the side so he could pass us. I guess his family was ahead of us. I was FURIOUS but I couldn't manage to say anything appropriate fast enough, so I kept quiet.

Happy, happy birthday, Friends!!:goodvibes

I am off here to eat my lunch on the patio and wait for a phone call. Could I ask for a bit of PD for Kathrin? She had a surgical procedure done this morning and I am waiting for a report from her best friend/college roommate. In case you are wondering... she did not want me to cancel classes and lessons to be with her. She preferred Sara this time, so I let it go at that. Thanks, everyone.

I hope all goes well!:wizard:

If everyone could spare some prayers for us, I would appreciate it. We are leaning heavily towards moving to CA in the near future. Under the family circumstances and since we are not very tied down here, we think that it may be for the best. While it is nice being near my family, I also know that they have a better chance of being around for a lot longer. I am just praying that the right situation/timing presents itself so that we know the direction meant for us right now. As it is, it looks like Phil will be staying in CA for about a month now instead of the two weeks. I was not surprised at all though as I kind of expected it to be 3-4 weeks. Our visit will still fall pretty much in the middle though so that is good.

I hope you come to a decision you are all happy with! Good luck!

And one last prayer request that I needed to save for last as it will make me cry again...

I have a friend Mimi from our CA playgroups. She woke up yesterday morning to find that her husband had died overnight. He was young (mid-30s) and healthy and this has come as a complete shock to us all. A cause of death is not yet known. They had been married just 2 years, though together for about 5 before that. They have a baby daughter together who is not quite a year old and he was in the process of adopting Mimi's 9yo daughter Catherine.

I can't even imagine what they are all going through right now. Doug was a wonderful man and will be missed by many. I am waiting to hear on memorial service plans on the chance that I will be there to go.

Thanks everyone.

How horrible!

Robyn - the pictures are adorable!

Cute, cute, cute!:)

Elizabeth I hope swimming lessons weren't to bad today. Good luck with the pins. I have backed away from them for a while lol

I still can't decide which design I want for the Halloween party :confused3 The days are gonna fly by now!!!!!!!!!!!

Swimming was swimming. The one little boy Princess likes is transferring to another class because the noon one isn't working for him as far as lunch and nap. That leaves just one other little boy. Kind of dull without more friends in the class.
I have won 17 pins so far, but I am paying $3 each for them. I know I shouldn't gripe. Rack pins are $7 each so I am better off than if I tried to buy pins in the parks.
Good luck choosing a Halloween design!

I just got a phone call from Kathrin. Her procedure went off without a hitch and she is having very little discomfort. Seems her last PAP smear was abnormal and after a biopsy and a pulposcopy she was diagnosed with "moderate to advanced" displasia. Meaning they needed to get those cells out of the cervix and checked very carefully. She will get the report back and goes in for a follow-up in 2 weeks.

She opted to not tell me because she knew I would drop everything and go to be with her. She wanted to handle this one on her own and it seems she and Sara are doing so. I truly understand her need to be a little more independent since she has always lived close enough for us to help when she needed it. I never had that luxury so she was very careful with my feelings on this. I am happy she took the initiative!

So, now we wait. Thanks for all the good thoughts, everyone. :goodvibes:

I had a similar procedure when I was 22 or 23. I hope the report is all clear and that she doesn't have any other issues!:wizard:

DH is hemming and hawing about applying for a different position. He has brought it up every time they post for applicants, so I think he should apply. The position is to cover routes where the drivers are on vacation or out on medical leave or whatever. More money for him, but a constantly changing schedule and a different route every week. AND only 2 days off each time, never 3. Of course he picks up so many extra shifts now that he almost never has 3 days off. It could also mean his vacation would only be 9 days instead of 10.:headache: They mentioned back in April that they might put his route up for bid in October, but they haven't said anything since then. If they are taking his route away next month then he should DEFINITELY apply for the other job! He's not sure how it would impact his vacation bid, so that could be bad. At least DS gets out of school later this year, and Princess is a crummy nap-taker so she's never asleep when DS gets out of school. We could easily go pick him up if DH is stuck on a late route. DH also says this will help him build experience so he can advance in the company, which is a good thing. So hopefully he will at least apply and get some more info on it.

Lindsay - Thanks for posting about the Moms' Panel. Funny how they jumped from 5000 applications to 10,000, isn't it? I know there were multiple threads about applying, so I wouldn't be surprised if several hundred or so applicants are DISers.

I was searching for Disney recipes. And I found these 2 Ohana Breakfast Bread Disney's Polynesian Resort and Dinner Bread - 'Ohana For those of you who have eaten at Ohana's did you like these?

Of course with all of these great pictures being posted of POP we might have to try it when we go next time.

Tia, my thoughts and prayers are with you today!

Robyn, the pics of the girls are fantastic! And little Lucy in that chair! I just about fell out of my chair! She looks so cute and comfy too!

All of you Oct. DDAers are sounding pretty excited about now! Wish I could make it too, but in 9 days I will be in Disney World!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to everyone that could use a little extra pixie dust today!

Here it is, the final installment.

Being the nervous nelly that I am, I was up at 2:00 am and couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to go ahead and start getting ready. We made short work of packing up the rest of our things, DH went to get a luggage cart, as we were leaving to early to use the resort check in. Brandon never really woke up as we got him dressed, so when we got to the ME bus stop he and DH went to return the cart and make a potty stop. We stopped at the Yacht Club and picked up two more people and were on our way to the Airport. I must say that it was easy check in and security as we were the only ones there, Brandon saw this guy and wanted one last picture.

IMG_2911.jpg

We got some milk and juice on the way to our gate, and since we had such a long wait Brandon had an hour nap at the airport. We had time for breakfast in Atlanta, Brandon was a pro at this by the time we left Atlanta so I let him handle his own boarding pass, he headed down to the plane in front of us and just walked right on the plane and headed down the aisle. The flight attendants looked at me and said "he knows where he's going" I said he sure thinks he does. We had fun watching the planes take off in line in front of us and as we took off Brandon let out a big Woo Hoo! He then proceded to burst out in his version of Zip a Dee Doo Dah, I was laughing so hard I was in tears, when he looked at me and said, MawMaw why are you laughing? I had to tell a white lie, so I told him I was laughing at PawPaw who was making funny faces.

So all in all the trip was definitely a success, the heat was pretty bad and the crowds were more than I was hoping for, but managable. We definitely made the most of the free dining plan, but for our November trip we won't be doing any character meals, we're going for a little more grown up time. We spent much more time in the Magic Kingdom than we ever had before, and there were a lot of things that I had planned to do but didn't get around to. But my theory on that is we had a good time and that's all that matters, the things we didn't do are things that we can do for the first time on another trip. We didn't stay for the late fireworks and parades every night like we normally do, this was a wise decision. Will we take him by ourselves again, well, DH was discussing when we could take him again, not if.

Our youngest DD will be receiving her Bachelors in May, and she has decided she would like the family to go to Disney to celebrate, so it looks like we'll be planning another one. With everyone going we'll probably be driving, :scared1: , I shouldn't complain, we can make it in about 9 hours.

Pin Trading - he wasn't really into it, he traded twice and that was it. No big deal as the pins I ended up getting him to trade were limited editions and were really much nicer than the pins the CM's had to trade. I told his mom to be sure and put his pins and lanyard up for him so that he will have it when he is older.

Invitations - I made a daily invitation for him for the meal that day, he got a kick out of it. I opted to make them in greeting card form and it was really easy.

Pressed pennies - I didn't mention it in the report, but her really enhoyed this one, especially the machines that you had to crank. Take an empty mini m & m container, a roll of quarters, and 20 shiny pennies. Drop in 2 quarters and then a penny until it is full and you are set. They sell the books for them at the resort, he was so proud of his book when he showed his Mom.

Thus ends my first ever trip report! Thanks for tuning in!

I thought I would post a couple of pictures of our costumes for MNSSHP.

Here are mine and DW's costumes. We even have the little propeller hats to go with these! No pictures of us modeling them though! I am sure that there will be plenty of pictures taken while at the party that if and when I am brave enough I will post us modeling them then!
Alice014.jpg

My brother Tim is going to be the "Mad Hatter" and his wife is "supposed" to be the Queen of Hearts, but she is a little unsure of it right now! We'll see!
