We got a new mini van, a Toyota Sienna, last night. :cool1:
Congratulations! Hope you're loving your Sienna!

Loved your trip report. Thanks for the postcard. They turned out great!

So I have been thinking of June a lot these past few days, I never met her, but she is in my mind for some reason. Say do you all still take purple roses to the Goofy bench?

Hope all is well with everyone today.
I brought a rose in Dec and again in May. I'll do it again in August too.
DSC02813.jpg

I did in January!

I left the rose there, and later that day, as we were leaving, we saw other people sitting on the bench, holding the rose for their picture, too. Pretty cool, huh?
Love your picture Glynis!

That happened to me in December too. I saw the people after me holding the rose.

For all the birthdays I missed please click on the link and happy late birthday.

That is SO cool!!!

Does anyone know how to download that? I would LOVE to play that for Joe on his 7th birthday at WDW.

I am also crowing tonight, as Kristin's second semester grades were posted and she has another set of A's. That makes the 4th semester in a row that she has gotten straight A's and her GPA is 3.79 right now. I am delighted with her, to say the least! :)
WOW! Congrats to Kristin!:woohoo:

It's a little strange to say I have a 6th grader. A friend of mine(about the same age)was lamenting that her oldest is now 5 and going into kindergarten in the fall. :rotfl2: My oldest is officially a sophmore. My youngest got A's except in PE and Music...We also got her MAPS scores (have no idea what MAPS means but it has replaced the Iowa tests) and she is part of the curve that make average kids curse.:rotfl: I am dreading Cassidy's grades...I am also dreading paying fees for 2 kids in secondary ed. :lmao:
Congrats to Abi!!:woohoo:

Hunter has a rough draft of a book report due tomorrow. He's known about it for weeks and had told us that he was working on it at school. Of course he didn't bring any of it home until last night and he showed it to me after the concert. I knew then that he was going to have trouble getting it done. He is such a slow writer. So he came home at 3 today and started in. I had typed what he had written prior to today into my laptop last night. He had missed including the setting in his opening paragraph which was a requirement. That meant that he needed to rewrite the whole thing  I figured that if I type it and print it out it would be easier for him to rewrite it from type rather than his handwriting. Well he had no time to work on it at school today. I ended up taking him and the laptop to work tonight. I worked with him for an hour then Chris picked him up. I told Chris to work with him, but apparently he thought the lawn was more important and that Hunter could work independently. I got home at 9:30 and Hunter had managed to write a whopping 12 sentences in 3 hours  Chris had stopped him from finishing and started him on rewriting. The last couple of paragraphs were so much less informative then the rest of the paper. I ended up having him retell the important stuff to me and I finished typing it. by then it was 10:30 and I was not having him rewrite it. She will have to accept the typed format for the rough draft. I think 7 hours on a 3rd grade rough draft book report is more than enough. We will see what the teacher has to say tomorrow. It is all Hunter's words, just not in his handwriting. He even typed some of it himself which explained why it took him 3 hours to write 12 sentences. So needless to say I'm one frustrated mom tonight.
:scared1: You are scaring me! I'm not ready for Lizzy to be in the 3rd grade next year.

Hope it all went well for Hunter.

I have a friend who is graduating from Seminary soon and her first church assignment is Billings....our old stomping grounds!! I was so excited for her because it will be HER church, she is going in as senior pastor, she gives a great sermon.

Her oldest graduated from Littleton today and has been accepted into the Coast Guard Academy.

They are having a blow out party on Sunday. I had the hardest time deciding what to give either one of them for presents. I found the Kermit autobiography that just screamed Sara Jane (the daughter). Then yesterday I had a brilliant idea (they don't happen very often lately) and called our favorite restaurant in Billings and they are sending a GC. The owner even called me back. I am also thinking of giving her a Heppner Guide to Billings...what do you all think??
Those are great ideas!!!!

So I spent the afternoon converting all of my WDW video to DVD, edited out some of the goofs, put in titles, etc. It came out to about 35 minutes in length. Most of it is the kids with characters, Chef Mickey's napking twirling, CRT, BBB, the talking trash can, FOTLK, and so on. I showed it to Bob tonight. Seems I have my work cut out converting him to a WDW fan. His response to the character stuff...."why spend all that time waiting in line when you could be riding???"
Congrats on the DVD!

My friend that I went with a few weeks ago is a ride gal. She doesn't care for Epcot because she doesn't love Mission Space and Test Track isn't a big enough thrill for her. She says she'd rather go to real places than World Showcase. I love the World Showcase. Thankfully my kids enjoy Epcot too.

Bernadette,

Thanks for sending me the links to your photos. I haven't had a chance to sit down and go through them yet. I can't wait to see your trip!

last night i got a killer sinus headach and i just wanted to relax in the room..besides, didnt bring sunblock and dont want to risk it!

yikes!! You mean your brother is out without it??? You are a smart cookie to not chance it!!

So I got Cassidy's report card today.....(let me just say I love messing with my kids head!!) I told her it's the worst report card I've seen from her.....

There were no A's on it :headache:

there were also no D's or F's either!!!:dance3:

The kid passed her math class!!!!

 Hi, Elin! I missed where Kristin is going to be working. I'm glad that you found clothes that will work for her. Good luck to her on her new job!

Hi, Beth! :wave2: She is a newly hired server at Carrabbas. Quite a change from the past two years where she was a costumed history interpreter for George Washington's boyhood home and GW's sister's plantation, Kenmore. The money change will be welcome since she has really discovered the delights of shoe and clothes shopping the past couple of years...

/
Happy Anniversary Terry and Terry's Husband :lmao: I am so brain dead that I can't remember his name. Elin must have the brain now

I "think" it is John????? If it isn't, then someone else has our brain and they had better return it!

we made it to massachusetts! luckily, my b rother brought his computer so hes sharing with me so while they are in the pool, im here! anyone around

I am 2 1/2 hours too late to chat, but I am glad you all made it safe and sound, Jen. Have a great time. :goodvibes

Jo -- did you get some much-needed rain out of TS Barry? Looks like you must have! His remnants are headed this way and we ought to get soaked over the next few days too. We need the rain badly, too... but not as much as you do.

New pics of the kitties.

Arabella likes the drawstring on my jacket.

She was "helping" with our newest shipment of Disney pins.

Snoozing with DS's bag of stuff he pulled out of his locker.

Aurora trying on my Crocs. (She did that herself. She had both feet in there until I got the camera.)

Arabella sleeping in my purse.

Sounds pretty good all around. Oh, and just give up on the laundry. Even if you think that you are caught up, there are little sprites that will sneak things into the hamper when you aren't looking. (These are the same sprites that steal single socks, and apparently my daughter's panties since they seem to be disappearing at a rapid rate.)
I always say laundry is like sour dough bread because you always have a "starter".

Congratulations!

I just got a letter in the mail that i did not get the teaching job at the school i student taught at..
:grouphug:

Congratulations! Apparently, I missed my 5,000. I was paying attention for awhile as I was getting closed and then blew right by it!
Congrats on 5,000!

Here are some photos from Katie and Jacob's Dance Festival and the twins preschool graduation.

Cute, Cute, Cute, Cute!!!!

My boys do not like coconut, so at home if they get mounds they give them to me. Oh & if anyone gets vanilla tootsie rolls, those are mine lol

I am so nice, I am give them my bottlecaps, sweet tarts, ect. :rotfl:
Wish I was going....I would trade my vanilla tootsie rolls for sweet tarts!

Here is a self portrait from this afternoon. Please ignore the dumb look, I was trying to hold the camera and shoot at the same time :lmao:

How cute!

I was wondering how many of us have a Disney Themed ringtone on our cell phones.

Mine is "You can Fly" from Peter Pan.

If I could have one for the home phone, I sure would, just do not know what it would be.
I don't know how to do it or if I can do it. At one time I set up a differnt ring for calls recieved from my DH but I can't remember how I did it and it was a ring already on the phone. I guess I should go look at Verizon's website.

I was just looking at a calendar. We have only 8 weekends left between now and our trip including this weekend :rotfl2: :) Of those 8 we will be camping 2 of them, We have a NASCAR race one of them cubscouts end of year stuff on one too. That means including this weekend I only have 4 weekends to get things done  I guess I'd better make a to do list and actually get to it. I know that I still need to make another T-shirt design, about 30 more autograph pages to design. I need to decide if I want to make new tie dye shirts or if I want to try the spray die idea (I have supplies for both). I need to sew a rain cover for Hunter's wheelchair. I can't wait for the trip, but I'm glad that I've still got time. Once July comes I have ONE weekend free. We will be camping the last weekend in June, The race is the first weekend in July, no plans YET for the following weekend. Then we go camping the following weekend and then head to WDW.

OK, enough thinking out loud. I'd better get moving.

Deb
Where to you go for Nascar? My brother is a huge fan.

Oh, and I almost forgot! We purchased our airfare today! Now it really feels official! :dance3:
:woohoo: That is great! The trip is never real to me until I have airfare.

We got a tremendous amount accomplished here today. It feels really good. You are all going to think I'm a big dork, but I've got most of our Disney Outfits packed :goodvibes I had bought new shorts (or bathing suits) on clearance at the end of last summer. The shirts that I designed go with the new shorts so I'm packing them that way everything will be nice and new for the trip. Chris decided that we should just wear plain white T-shirts with one set of shorts so that means one less design to do. I also ordered Mickey Hawaiian shirts from Disneyshopping and I'm waiting for one that I had to size exchange to arrive then those will be set too. So at days end I just need to make new tie dye shirts since the boys grew out of theirs. I think I'll do a blue tie dye for myself as I can't find a royal blue shirt to match the boys. At least I feel like I know where I'm at. We will each have 8 outfits which means I will need to do laundry, but a lot less luggage. I'm thinking we may be able to do 2 suitcases plus our carryons. That would mean we could rent a smaller car.
When I got the kids summer clothes I didn't put out lots of T's I had bought at the Disney store on sale. They've got plenty of T's so we might as well keep these nice for the trip. I figure if I do laundry twice on our trip I will still need 4 outfits packed plus the one we wear. I've always gone with just 2 checked bags but I have also always sent a box (and sometimes 2) to the resort.

Theresa. I just found better car rental rates. I am now booked for 22 days with Alamo in a mid sized SUV for $551. I used the Walmart Code 430710, rate/product code BY and a $25 BJs coupon. It's still not as low as I'm hoping for, but it is getting better :thumbsup2

I get an email from Alamo for last minute deals I haven't actually checked them out to see how good they are but you may want to sign up for it. But...since they are last minute deals it may not be good for a 3 week trip.

Does Zack enjoy academic stuff? It is like pulling teeth to get DS to read over the summer, but I make him read at least 20 minutes every day. There is a neat website www.mathfactcafe.com where you can design and print your own math worksheets. I used it a lot when DS was younger.
That website looks interesting.

Katie fell off the top bunk bed when she was 6 years old. She landed right on her face! For at least a week she had 2 black eyes, a swollen nose and lips. Not to mention bruises galore! I had to go in to the school and explain what happened to the principal, the secretaries, the lunch ladies and her teacher. It was so horrible! It's so sad that we have to explain so we don't get the police called on us.
Emma fell out of our bed a few weeks ago and landed on her face. She just had a bruise on her cheek. Then she fell out again a few days ago. I told her she HAS to sleep in her bed. She's done well starting out in her bed but still crawls into ours. I moved her about 3 times last night but then just got too tired. I've really got to keep working on it. She was such a good sleeper in her crib. She just doesn't like her youth bed.

so we didn't get a whole lot done today except buying a grill and looking at other kitties. We put in an application for this cutie:
http://picasaweb.google.com/everycreaturecounts/CatsForAdoption/photo#5035910190244453458

She was so sweet and playful...the only other kitty in the running was a kitten and that girl will have no problem getting adopted a 6 year old just might.
She's really beautiful!

I can use prayers and good thoughts for my Grandpa. Remember how at Christmas we had him go to the ER because of arthritis and Gout. Well he was supposed to go to an arthritis specialist he had an appointment but because his pain and problems had went away he never went.

Well he ended up back at the ER on Thursday or Friday for the same reason. Sorry my days are running together. He is in tons of pain and can hardly walk again. They of course sent him home with meds and now has an appointment with the arthritis specialist for August. I am hoping they will be able to get an earlier appointment or that the meds he has now work, so his pain goes away. He is staying at my Aunt's with my Grandma as she can't care for him with him having a hard time walking. This stresses her out and she has several health problems of her own aggravated by stress.
Prayers for Grandpa. Hope he's feeling better.

These are the cutest things! (Why can't I think of these to sell before I see them in a store??) They don't look to hard to make if you have good cardstock too... Humm...
I found some directions on how to make these. I may have to try it out. Did you notice that these Current one still need to be folded?

Just a quick post to say graduation and the party went fantastic. Bill finally made it here from Japan JUST in time to make graduation - long story which I'll share later but he made graduation just before the graduates walked in. It was a great party. All that is left at the house are my mom, sister & her kids, brother Bill and his infant son. And of course, Chuck, Katrina, Becky & I. Becky is off to the all-night grad party and I'm off to bed.
Glad it all went well. Congrats to Becky!!!

Then we went to my parents home to open the pool. While we were there Colby ran up onto an empty car hauler trailer that was on the lawn. You know the kind that are made with pressure treated board for the floor. Yep, he ran onto it BAREFOOT. He had/has at least 30 splinters in each food :scared1: We took him home and soaked his feet then tried to remove the splinter. We quickly gave up as there were way too many and he was screaming everytime I picked at one. So off to the ER for us. This was at 2 PM and I needed to be at work at 3 PM. I called to say that I would be late. Thankfully the ER was quiet so they saw him quickly. The ER doctor said that he was only going to remove the bigger pieces. The rest will either surface or be absorbed by the body :confused3 He scrubbed his feet and used a scalpul to get a few out. They covered his feet with bacatracin and gauze and home we came. Now we need to soak/scrub his feet several times a day to keep them clean to prevent infection and hopefully to work some more splinters out. We go back on Tuesday for a wound check to make sure that he hasn't gotten infected. Needless to say he cannot walk comfortably. I ended up being 45 minutes late for work. It started slow. I was lucky enough to get a party of 15 (that's the biggest party I've had at once to date). I ended up only doing 25 people, but that's not bad for a sunday night. I came home and had to do the foot scrubbing then read my little angel a book. He has suddenly (thankfully) begun to enjoy being read to. I told him that we should do it everynight :goodvibes Now I'm able to relax for the first time all day.
:scared1: Poor Colby.

Good Morning DDA!

Thanks to all for all the good thoughts and prayers for my Mom.

She has been admitted into the hospital for further tests. She has all the signs of having a stroke, but her CAT scan came out normal.

She is very disoriented, and dehydrated. She is on IV fluids to help with that.

She didn't know me by name, but did recognize me. She knew my brother Chuck, but called him Charles-Charles-Charles. She thought that was his name.:confused3

She doesn't know what day it is, or how long she was lying on the floor.

The apartment manager said that the last time she checked on her was on Friday morning around 10:00 a.m. Well, her beads were on the door at that time. (Each resident puts a string of beads on their doors in the morning to let everyone know that they got up, and are alright. They take them off by noon, so in theory, she was o.k. at that point.)
Friday evening her friend had tried to call her, but got no answer. He called again on Saturday night, but got no answer again. Finally on Sunday he called the apartment manager and she checked on her and found her on the floor.
The doctors think that she is going to be o.k., but are running tests today to see if they can find out what happened.

Once I knew she was O.K. I went into work. So here I am, tired and exhausted, but too worried to sleep. I will check in on her again this afternoon and head into work again tonight.

Again, many thanks to all my DDA friends for all the prayers and support.

Becky, lots of good thoughts and prayers for your grandfather too!

Talk to you all later!
Prayers for your Mom. Hope she's doing much better now.

So i just watched m aroon 5 on the Today show...The last song they sang was the song they dedicated to Alyssa when she was alive-She will be loved...While they were singing it, i noticed Adam (lead singer) had Alyssa's bandana wrapped around his guitar strap. Lyss wore that bandana ALL the time s o itw as so neat to see him have it

Actually I never put it on the board. It is Hal, short for Harold but since our son is Harold III, DH is called Hal, his father is called Harold and our son is called Howie. :lmao:
