The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 25

This whole job/interview thing is driving me batty. A week ago my manager was staying at the store and me too. Now the manager is leaving and who the heck knows what is going to happen with me. My district manager talked to me yesterday about me managing the store, store staffing, etc and I kind of let it slip I had an interview on Monday.

Not sure I wanted to do that but then again considering we are talking about staffing and my manager left her location on about 2 days notice to another location I felt it was polite to let her know. Considering we may have a major staffing issue if I leave since there are only 3 part timers and one only wants to work one day a week and not weekends, the other doesn't want to work weekends, which he only said so yesterday after I talked to DM, but was hired to work every other weekend and the other PT has more flexibility and can work more hours this summer due to only having one college class. It may come back to kick me in the tushie that I said about the interview but I can't change it now.

The other thing with this whole job/ interview thing is I have a 16 day vacation planned in September, the cruises have been booked since March 2006. I know lots of people get special leeways and get to still go on their vacation right after starting a new job. If I am unable to go I will probably be losing money. Plus I will be losing out on my vacation days as we get a pro-rated amount for days we don't use and it is a percentage of the time we have worked so far for the year. But I haven't even been to the interview yet so who knows what will happen.

Sending prayers, :wizard: and  to everyone I did read. Can't remember much right now. I need to find food, go shopping, clean and wrk on my co-leaders gifts. Have a great day everyone.

 Ewww!:scared: And OUCH!:scared1:
I hope it stops bleeding soon! Yikes! Maybe you should consider a different brand/style of razor!

I use the Gilette Venus, it was a brand new blade. I normally have no problems with it. I just dislike having to shave everyday. But from now on I am inspecting the razor blades before I use them, after inspection the blades were not smooth across hence the reason I cut myself. I also have several other nicks all over that leg due to said razor. It was the second swipe with that blade. I have discarded of that blade. I have never had a problem before.

Glynis and someone else (but I don't remember who right now either!). Mine is in July when we are at DL so that is probably why you thought it was now with Glynis' Deb. I hope you get some down time to rest, but I don't think it is going to happen.

Me, me, me! :lmao: Chuck & I are celebrating 25 on Tuesday.

I'm sure I missed you Glynis. Have a Wonderful Trip!!!

Happy Anniversary to Glynis and Elin (if my tired memory serves me correctly)

Have fun Jen!!

Me Me Me!!!! My DH and I are celebrating 38 years on Thrusday!!! :goodvibes :hippie: :woohoo:

Becky - Yep. Not a good idea to tell them you are interviewing. But too late, so hopefully it won't be a problem!

Happy Anniversary to Vicki & Chuck and Terry & DH! (I am sure I know Terry's DH's name, but it escapes me.)

Disney Shopping has the adult pirate Crocs, but only the black ones. Nordstrom has kids pirate Crocs, and so does Disney Shopping - one has one color and the other has the other color, but I don't remember which site has which color.

Steffy - I am not the Pirates fan the rest of you are, but I have to admit those crocs are cute. I hope the day today is just wonderful. I remember going to Dutch Wonderland a time or two in my youth! :)

I'm not a big Pirates fan either...unless it's the LHS Marching Band playing.

Prayers for Aidan needed...

June 02, 2007 at 09:27 AM CDT
Well yesterday was an exciting day as Aidan was removed from assisted oxygen and Naomi got to feed him his first bottle. However this excitement was damperred last night when we received a phone call from his Doctor and he was running a temperature of 104.
It seems he has picked up some infection via his central lines and they are performing a spinal tap this morning to check for any other issues. His potasium level has been compromised and urine output has decreased. He is now on additional anti-biotics and doesn't act ill, but we really weren't expecting this after such a wonderful day yesterday.

Poor Aidan just can't catch a break!!

Thanks for the update.

Have I told you how much I hate shaving??:confused3 :confused3 If you are a bit squeamish you may not want to continue. You have been warned.:rotfl: :rotfl2:

This morning I proceeded to skin my right shin. Yep, I removed a quarter inch wide 2 inch long piece of skin off of my shin. I could feel the skin coming off, but it was too late. I think it still may be bleeding not sure, as it is covering in neosporin, gauze and tape.

 Owie!!!

I did the same thing to the back of my leg.....the day we got on a long plane flight!!:scared1: Got out of the shower and scared the bejeebers out of my sister....she never did like the sight of blood.:rotfl: . Told you all I wasn't graceful!!

I am off to Kohl's in a few minutes. One thing I love about that store is their hours. Someone like me must have developed their marketing strategy! ;)

On Thursday I bought some new skorts and knit tops and a pair of sandals that were on sale. But today they are on sale for 1/2 price. I almost never return things to stores because I make very sure when I purchase them that they fit and are what I want. But, when we got Kristin's oxford cloth shirts for work last night I asked the sales clerk about a price adjustment and she said people do it all the time, so I am going back. This little trip this morning will probably net me $20-30 in savings!

I need to check the sales flyer to see if any of the things we got Kristin last night are also on sale today. Let me tell you that buying her clothes for work was a huge trial. She had to have oxford cloth shirts with a left breast pocket and heavy weight khakis (they suggest Dickies brand) as well as either brown or black shoes with matching socks and belt. She also has to wear plain white undershirts under the dress shirt and a colorful tie every day.

Well, NOTHING fit. A boys Arrow shirt, size 14 finally worked OK but we will need to take a couple of darts in the back. No pants fit. They didn't have any khakis that were heavy enough in the juniors and misses departments either. I remembered seeing an ad on TV for Dickie's brand pants made for women now so I suggested we go to Walmart to see if they carried them. Thank goodness they did! But the size 5 pants will still have to be shortened and darts taken in. I am glad they have to wear a belt and an apron because that will hide a multitude of sins as far as her uniform is concerned. And, then there is the problem finding brown socks. The only way we could get them was by buying sets at Walmart that also have 2 pair of black and one pair of khaki in the package. She/we will never wear those other socks. :(

She had better make some serious tips too... the clothes we bought last night came to close to $150!!

 Hi, Elin! I missed where Kristin is going to be working. I'm glad that you found clothes that will work for her. Good luck to her on her new job!

Miles had his first swim meet this morning, and did a terrific job! There was a mixup, and he missed his first race. They were so nice about it, though, and they let him swim it after the last heat. He was the only one in the pool, and they even gave him a heat ribbon. He thought that was great. He also actually earned a heat ribbon in his breaststroke.

Laura is at try-outs for Empires right now. I am nervous for her. I hope that her day goes as well.

Matthew drove on actual roads today for the first time.

Vicki, Terry and Beth -- happy anniversary, or belated anniversary (whichever the case)!

Sounds like and exciting and stressful day. I hope they are all successful

I survived the campout, fishing derby and picnic:cool1: Now I'm off to work. We left the picnic 20 minutes later than I had wanted. Things just didn't move along well. The Cubmaster had suggested that people could jump in the brook if we got doing the planned activities. Of course part of the Pack took that as we'll eat and play in the brook. Everytime we needed to move to an activity someone had to go empty the kids from the brook. It was very poorly organized to say the least. The good news is that cub scouts is done until September other than the July 4th parade. Nick group continues all summer, but the parents aren't nearly as involved.

Gotta Run
