The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 25

Good morning, DDA!

Nothing big going on here today. The biggest event is getting new tires on Mom's car. Thank, GOD! My poor DH has been so worried that we were going to have a blowout on the highway sometime, but my dad doesn't always move very quickly on things. Finally, Mom and I pushed him to get it worked out and insisted that timing was no issue as Terra and I would wait at the shop. So, we're having breakfast at Sonic while the tires get done.

Otherwise, it's just another day of working around the house. I've got to finish up washing the sheets, want to work on my room and will probably work on the toy room. I've also got to watch Rachel and a friend swim so that probably means another day of no garden work. Oh well, we'll get there.

Dance recitals are this weekend so that is our Saturday. If the rain stays away tonight, I think that Terra and I are headed to a concert in the park. Otherwise, no big plans around here. How about everyone else?

Happy Friday everyone!

I am camping out at school with Hunter tonight. If rain hold off we'll be tenting outside, if it rains we will be inside. I think it may be a LONG night. :goodvibes Tomorrow we have a fishing derby at 9 AM and the end of year cub scout picnic at noon. So far I'm not scheduled to work tomorrow night, but I am first call so you never know :confused3

I think my mother and maybe my dad may join us for our last week of vacation this year  We haven't worked out details yet. My dad says that there is no way he is going to Florida in the Summer, but we'll see.

Thanks for all your compliments on Matthew's TP job! He also proceeded to climb five stairs, with Alyssa cheering him on  , so Kevin installed the retractable baby gate. Of course, he had to put it above the baseboard, and guess what...Matthew can crawl under it with ease, as proven twice yesterday.

Kevin's comment was, "Well, Alyssa never did that!"

Boys!!! :rotfl:

We've gone to King's Island five times in the past month, twice in the past week! I even took the kids BY MYSELF on Tuesday. Saturday, we met some friends and the Dads decided to take the girls on the log flume ride. Check out this sequence!

They were all relatively dry until that elephant "attacked!" :rotfl:

Off the top of my head...

Glynis, have a wonderful DL trip with your family!

I love all the kitty pictures. And the deer were so cute. And wow, Beth, those fruit arrangements! Yum!

Karen, I hope your credit card fraud is taken care of quickly!

Becky, good luck with your interview.

Jen, don't worry...the perfect teaching job is out there!

Robyn, your story about the zoo reminded me of my taking Alyssa to the zoo last summer, before Matthew's arrival. The hills, the heat...I can completely empathize!

To be continued (I hope)...Matthew is out of my line of vision (again).

:rotfl: My friend's dd (now almost 16) was a climber when she was little. She was climbing before she was walking. If my friend put a baby gate up normally, her dd would try to go right over the top of it. If she put it about a foot above the floor, though, her dd wouldn't climb it and never thought about going under it...until I brought Matthew over one day. The first thing that he did was go under that baby gate. Boy did she pick right up on that! :rotfl:

Your kids are absolutely adorable! Dh and I were just saying the other night that we would go back to those days gladly. We're content where we are now (though time is going too fast), but if someone offered to rewind us to when the kids were little, we'd gladly take them up on it. We don't want to have another (I never thought I'd say that!) and start all over again, but we'd go back in time.

I was thinking about you the other day when I made these. I almost used your recipe, but I was running short of time. I knew that mine worked for, and I was afraid to try something new.

Thanks for the notice. I'm sure it's going to be an emotional weekend for you, but I hope you can spend some quiet time reflecting on Alyssa and the happy times you had together.

Thanks Tammi--I know it sgoing to be very bittersweet, but were all really looking forward to it.. Im so proud of my brother for doing the 25 mile ride instead of the 10 again..We'll be going out to dinner with her family tomorrow night and then going back to their house-Last year, Alyssa's room was still the way she had it so id definltely like to go into her room..I think were also going to make it a point to go to the cemetary since we werent able to go last year..Im sure ill have pictures and stories when i get back!

Good afternoon all!

Tammi, I am glad you liked my DVD! It was alot of fun putting it all together!

Vicki, nice to see you posting again! I know how RL can sometimes get in the way!

Robyn, what a nice gift to have recieved. We had one similar to that, and used it alot!

:dance3: Stephanie, great gift you are about to recieve! :dance3:

Amy, cute pictures! My wife and I are planning a trip to King's Island in a couple of weeks. I remember the first time I took Leighanna on that ride! We rode it two times, but the third time the ride attendant said that Leighanna was too small, and we had to exit the ride! She was not happy about that!

I couldn't get on the Disboards this morning, and I sure missed my morning fix.

Chat with you all later!

Have a great weekend Jen!

Afternoon everyone,

Amy - loved the pictures as always, the girls don't look too thrilled with the ride in the one picture.

I have a question, what Resort restaurant would you recommend we try on one of our MGM days in November. DH is strictly a meat and potato kind of guy, nothing fancy so that limits our choices, any suggestions? :confused3

Hi Debbie! :wave2: You want dinner at a resort, not in the park? What about SciFi?
