I'm off to bed now too. I have another early morning and long day. I've never attended so many meetings in my life. I'm in like 12 or 13 every week. Luckily, they are phone conferences and I have a home office. Yesterday, I sat on my front porch swing with my laptop on my lap while I was on the phone. It was a 2 hour meeting. Earlier in the day, I'd had a one hour meeting. During most of that meeting, I sat on my back deck. Life isn't as rough as it sounds. It's lots of hours but I do have some perks.

I think I could handle conference calls if sitting on the porch or deck. It was those two hour calls while sitting in a window-less office that killed me.

It also beats sitting in the conference room with everyone which I'll have to do next week.

YEAH!! That is great, Stephanie! What a sweet gesture.

Yuck. Even worse. That was one benefit of being in Boston or Los Angeles when the majority of my team was in Lancaster, PA. I was always the conference call person.

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

Since the boards were down for at least a part of the night or morning, there was not a lot to catch up on, thank you very much!

PD and good thoughts to everyone today. I am off work until Monday so I plan to spend at least a part of the day planning! Make it a good one, friends.

Oh, and by the way.... I go to California next month.

I wonder if WDW can put smilies on Stephanie's new brick......

Good morning, DDA!

Nothing big going on here today. The biggest event is getting new tires on Mom's car. Thank, GOD! My poor DH has been so worried that we were going to have a blowout on the highway sometime, but my dad doesn't always move very quickly on things. Finally, Mom and I pushed him to get it worked out and insisted that timing was no issue as Terra and I would wait at the shop. So, we're having breakfast at Sonic while the tires get done.

Otherwise, it's just another day of working around the house. I've got to finish up washing the sheets, want to work on my room and will probably work on the toy room. I've also got to watch Rachel and a friend swim so that probably means another day of no garden work. Oh well, we'll get there.

Dance recitals are this weekend so that is our Saturday. If the rain stays away tonight, I think that Terra and I are headed to a concert in the park. Otherwise, no big plans around here. How about everyone else?

Happy Friday everyone!

Good morning everyone!
i got really tired around 1030 last night and took advantage of it and went to bed early!

Morning DDA!!! I'm SO glad it's Friday. I'm exausted. I swear we never really catch up from vacation time or from Holiday weekends. I'm looking forward to really cleaning the house on Saturday. (YEA RIGHT!)

We got back from the shower about an hour ago and this was Lucy's big gift:

She also got some goodies that were tucked away inside, diapers, bottles, a blanket, some bibs and a few other things I can't remember right now.

It was really nice of them. There are about 6 or 7 people in his section that went in together along with a few co-workers from the finance section. Sherae, the boy's grandma, was the one who organized it and made sure they got us something we would use. The shower/party itself was just a little crazy. Eric is in so many words a computer geek and so are all the guys he works with. It's just funny to see all them trying to act all excited over baby stuff! The 3 kids had a ball though and loved showing off.

I am off now to go get the kids up from their short naps! Talk to you all later!

I'm glad y'all enjoyed the shower. What a fun gift!

My boys have NEVER thought that girls were yucky :confused3

Riley just decided to take a nap on Hunter's homework, the homework that he is actually working on :lmao: Hunter's trying to work around him, but he keeps scooching closer :rotfl: I guess he must want some attention.

Nick has decided to wear tan shorts with is Hawaiian Mickey shirt for the concert tonight. Who can argue with a Disney outfit?

I'm glad he did well. Do we get to see a pic of the cool outfit?

I went & picked the boys up, the clouds rolled in, & it poured. Just called & all games for tonight have been canceled. Boy the weather is fickle, you just never know lol

That is usually my luck as well! Andrew actually played a game last night -- he hasn't played in almost two weeks because of all the rain. Jake's field was too wet for playing yesterday, but if we don't get rain today he has a doubleheader tonight.

We got some nice news from OK yesterday. At the local school district's annual luncheon, they honored my grandma posthumously with a Lifetime Acheivement in Teaching award. A good friend of hers did the presentation.

It also appears that they have a contract on her house. It sounds like just the family my grandma would have wanted living there. It is a mother and a 21-month old (don't know if there is a father on the home as well. At the end of March, they lost their other two children (5 and 3) and home in a house fire. I guess the Mom grabbed the baby and yelled for the others to get out. They apparently hid thinking they were in trouble or something. The mom ran out with the baby and turned around to go back in to find the door had locked behind her. Since they are starting over bascially, the family has asked that we leave anything that we don't want or sell for them to start their new home with.

Mom, Terra and I will head to OK June 22 to help finish preparing the house for the new owners and with the estate sale.

That is awesome about the award, and it sounds like her house will go to a good family. :goodvibes

Vicki and Terry congrats on your upcoming anniversaries.

Sending prayers, :wizard: and  to anyone I may have missed.

So my Girl Scout interview is on Monday at 2:30pm. I still have to find a jacket as I did not look today. I was thinking about calling off of work because I did not feel well. My manager's last day is this Saturday.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good luck on your interview! :)

Glynis -- have a fantastic trip! I can't wait to read all about your trip!

Have a great day, DDA!

Stephanie - you are HILARIOUS! I'm so thrilled that you are getting a brick. What a wonderful gift! :cloud9:

i got an email last night for 48.00 round trip to orlando...i hated deleting that email...it was for leaving next week !

Good morning!

I'm sorry I missed all the chatting last night, especially since Vicki and Heidi were around more than usual.

I, too, am glad it's Friday, although I have a retirement dinner to go to tonight after work, so I probably won't be home until 9:30 at the earliest. It's not one that I would have chosen to go to, more like I HAVE to. Tomorrow morning we are going to a craft fair and then in the evening we are going to an outdoor film fest. It's a movie (ET) shown outdoors on a huge blow-up screen. We'll take blankets, chairs, pillows, cooler with munchies, and watch the movie under the stars. Maybe I'll even let the kids wear their pajamas. Best of all, it's FREE! I just hope the scattered thunderstorms that they are calling for tomorrow hold off or go around us, even though we need the rain desperately.

Lindsay - thanks for the VIP info! You sure put a lot of work into keeping everyone informed. That's great!
