Well, I just phoned the foster mom who has our kitty. The first number they gave me is disconnected. I did get through on what I am guessing is her cell phone so I left her a message. This is going to irritate me.

If we had the kitty here I would have been on the phone to our vet when they opened this morning at 8 AM and scheduled her spay. The kitty is old enough to be spayed but the foster just hasn't taken her yet. Hello? Shouldn't that be a pretty high priority? Isn't that her duty as the foster? I would think getting things completed that are necessary for the kitty to be adoptable would be part of the foster agreement. Especially since we already PAID for the kitty and they refuse to allow us to arrange her surgery! Then again they probably have so many animals that they will allow anybody who asks to be a foster, even if they don't stick to the rules.

Really I think the foster should have called ME, and I think she should have called me YESTERDAY to assure me that the kitty would be spayed immediately and turned over to us ASAP. I have never been a foster for a shelter, but it seems to me that asking someone to pay for a pet and then having no communication as to when the pet will be able to go home is a very poor business practice. There isn't an actual "shelter", it is all foster homes who have mobile adoptions at PetsMart on weekends, so there isn't a facility to complain to, just an e-mail address.:headache: So we shall see.
This just sounds bizarre. I hope you get kitty soon, and that you aren't being swindled. :wizard:

We had a fun night, tonight! Our movie was "The Lion King", and I don't think we've watched it all together in a couple of years. It was a lot of fun! The kids love it! They are getting so excited about our trip! They are counting down the days, and planning just who gets to ride what with Grandma and Grandpa! They've even convinced my mother to ride Grizzly River Run. Now if we can just get my dad on Splash Mountain, my kid's vacation plans would be complete!

Tomorrow I get to babysit my great-nephews, and I love it! They are so darling, and really no trouble! While they're here, I'm hoping to finish the autograph pages, and get my packing lists done. Slowly, but surely, I'm whittling away at my "to do" list!

Good night all! I'm heading off to bed!

That sounds like fun! The girls in my car watched Mulan, Mulan II, and Peter Pan on the way to/from the meet this weekend. It reminded me how much I love Mulan and that we don't get enough time to sit and watch movies together any more.

Your trip is coming up soon! I am excited for you!

Tammi -- sending PD to you for the meeting. My best friend from childhood is meeting with her X2B today for the first time this afternoon. They have two kids -- a boy who just turned 8 and a girl who will be 6 in August.

Loved the first installment of your trip report!
Thanks, Marci, and to everyone else.

I hope your friend's divorce goes smoothly. My meeting went fairly well, although expensive! We just went over his counter-offer, and what we will agree to and what we want to hold steady on. I'm glad it's done.

Welcome back, Tammi! I haven't quite made it back your post, but I did see your adorable children in a quote. I hope that the meeting went well today.
Thanks, Beth! And if you all stop talking so much I can get some more of my TR posted. Everytime I sit down to DIS I have so much catching up to do that I run out of time! ;)

Hi everyone,

Daniel's communion was lovely. Yesterday was sunny & warm. Daniel did 2 readings & all went well. Today we had the celebration with family & friends which also went well. The D.J. kept the kids busy & dancing & playing games. The food was good..yummy penne ala vodka & chocolate cake...yum. I will post pictures asap.

Hope you had a good weekend..I am pages behind..I know Tammi must be home by now so "welcome back Tammi, hope you had a great time!"

Everything sounds perfect! I'm glad that you had a good weekend.

Beth

I haven't come close to catching up yet, but I do have to go for a while. That will keep me quiet! I can't wait to read your TR!!!

I suppose I will have to wait for a time when we can see one another! :rotfl:

Thanks for taking care of that for me, Tammi. I really do appreciate it.

Loved the beginning of your TR. How awful to have missed your flight over darned car keys! Can't wait to read more! :goodvibes

Well, I do have to get going, but I can't stop reading...

Tammi, you missed your flight because of car keys?! I have to find the TR.

Today was spent at the AK. We were there for opening and went straight to EE, which we all rode. Nicholas rode Primevil Whirl for the first time, with my dad and I took Alyssa on Triceratop Spin. We then saw Pocahontas, visited the characters at Camp Minnie Mickey, and saw FOTLK. I got Alyssa a birthday button when we went in, even though her official day wasn't until tomorrow. When we were visiting the characters they were all asking how old she was. Donald had everyone standing in line sing happy birthday to her. I didn't take pictures of this, but videotaped it all. It was so cute! Oh, and the kids got picked to dance after the LK show again.

After Lion King we ate at Flametree and then went to the Conservation Station. I know this isn't very exciting, but the kids really like it. Alyssa and I watched the parade and Nicholas and my parents did the Safari. Afterwards we headed over to AKL and checked out the animals while waiting for our ADR at Boma. I really enjoy this restaurant, but my parents weren't as adventurous. :sad2: Strictly meat and potatos for them. ;) Our waitress saw Alyssa's bday button and brought her a cupcake. Then we went back and went swimming. Tomorrow was our big day at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo shop.

okay an update on grandma.

It is not bone cancer. But they found a pretty good size mass on her liver. she had the biopsy this morning. we will have to wait a few days for the results. Continue to pray that it will not be cancer. TIA

You got it!

Thanks Glynis! No big plans as of yet! DW is doing fine. The doctors have her on about 6 or 7 different meds right now to try to figure out a treatment for her skin problems. She told them that she just wants to be able to walk without pain by the end of Sept. for our trip to Disney! So he is trying everything that he can to help her out!

I'm so glad you have a doctor that is willing to work with your wife towards a goal! I'll keep her (and the doctor) in my prayers!

okay got to go. my nephew just got here. My mom had to go pick up my grandma from the hospital where they did the biopsy. Then take her to the grocery store then home. We are having our septic tank pumped then I am taking the kids over to my moms so they can ride their motorized cars and play on the trampoline. My dad caught some fish on sat. so my mom is cooking that for supper. I work tues and wed. so I will be on some time on thurs.

Take care of yourself!

Thanks! I'm excited, too! I just finished the autograph pages, so I can cross another item off my list! WooHoo!!!!!

How are you feeling about all of this? I know it must be hard for you. Do you have someone you can talk to about your feelings. I mean, besides us, of course. Sometimes I forget that we all have "real" lives besides the DIS. I just wish that I could be there to help you through this.
