I was surprised since I ate whatever I wanted at the communion but I was good the other 6 days. I am so happy..I thought I would just end up maintaining.

:grouphug: for everyone. I am heading to bed.
:woohoo: Congratulations! You are doing so great!

Elizabeth's post about her DS's Texas Standardized Testing reminded me that I had wanted to tell you what the Great Commonwealth of Virginia calls those for our students in public schools:

Standards Of Learning... :rolleyes1
:lmao:

I mentioned that I had forgotten to take Alyssa's Cinderella dress, so she had no princess dress to wear to the BBB, and I certainly wasn't upgrading to the Crown package, for $175. So after eating at AKL the previous night, my parents took the kids back to OKW and I made a quick dash over to MK to buy a dress for her. $60 later I was on my way back to OKW with an Ariel dress.

So on Monday we get up and Alyssa and I head straight to DTD. We had the first appt. at BBB at 9 AM. If any of you do this, beware that the buses do not start running to DTD as early as they do the parks, because nothing is open. The World of Disney doesn't open until 0930, but the BBB, which is in WOD opens at 0900. Anyway, we were at the bus stop at 0815 and the TL bus pulls up, and the driver gratiously offers to take us to DTD since no one was going to TL. Thank you, driver! We got there with plenty of time to spare and walk around checking out all the lego statues.

A few other little princesses to be start trickling in. About 8:50 they open the doors to WOD and we head to the back where the BBB is. At this time about 10 Fairy Godmother's in Training converge on us, which sort of overwhelms Alyssa. She clings to me and is rather shy around them, not wanting to get in her chair. After a little encouragement, she eventually sits and lets them start transforming her.

The first thing they do is hand her a brochure to pick out a hairstyle. She opts for the Diva Princess. FGM Maria starts working on her hair and another one lets Alyssa select what color eyeshadow she wants, nail color, hair clips, extensions, etc.

About 15 minutes later she is now a Birthday Princess.

Afterwards we are sent over to guest services where they have a photography session.

I was able to take my own pictures while the photopass photographer shot hers. I only got one, thanks to my free 5x7 coupon. Alyssa was on :cloud9: .

In the meantime, my mom, dad and Nicholas headed to MK, where Nicholas got his hair done at the barber shop.

By afternoon he was hating it, because it dried, got hard, and started itching. He still has a faint red spot on the back of his head where the dye hasn't completely faded away. We eventually meet up, do a few rides, and then have lunch at CRT, which, as usual, was delicious.

IMG_0411.jpg

Around 2 we head out and back to our resort for a cool-down and a nap. When we there Alyssa's bday cake had been delivered, along with balloons and a card from Cinderella. Of course we had to have cake then, before our nap.

Around 5 we headed back to MK for some more rides, Spectromagic and Wishes. I liked how this picture turned out. Most of the other ones ended up blurry.

What a perfect day for Alyssa!

Hi! I am just Dising..Dana has the kids in the playroom playing gamecube while I have some peace & quiet at the pc. I was looking at info & pictures on Pop on allears. I am so excited to try this resort. What is the best building for us do you think?
Bob and I were in the 90s. Suprisingly, we loved it. It was more peaceful than the center area of the resort by the main pool, even though we had a pool right in front of our room. And the walk to the bus stops weren't that bad when you cut right through the parking lot. I'm content so long as I'm at Disney so they can put me anywhere at Pop - I don't think I'd be complaining! (Well, ground floor would be nice... :thumbsup2 )

Hi Tammi, thanks for the hug. I'm ok, just in a mood.

Read ya all tomorrow. pixiedust: and :grouphug: to all.

How did the rest of your week go? How was the weather?

It was much nicer Monday as you said, and Tuesday & Wednesday weren't too terribly hot... upper 80's, but breezier. By Thursday and yesterday it was scorching again, and sunny, no wind, etc -- like the end of last week. Definitely hotter than we anticipated, which meant a lot more indoor time!

We had a great time, but I REALLY am not doing well being home! :headache:

ETA: I love the BBB pictures that were quoted of Alyssa, and the ones of Nicholas' hair as well -- what fun!

Good Evening DDA!

What a busy weekend for me! I am on vacation right?!:rotfl:

I did get a lot accomplished today though.

Leighanna had her Easter Egg hunt today! The church called it a Mother's Day Egg hunt!:thumbsup2
Here are a few pictures! She is with her best friend Dorian. Dorian is 6 but Leighanna is just as tall!

Do you like her shirt?;)

I need to get mulch tomorrow to finish up the front yard landscaping and it will be done!

I still need to work on the back yard. The new play set is calling for some plants or bushes or something!

I will try to get pictures tomorrow and share them with you all then. It has been a lot of hard work, but I think it looks pretty nice so far.

Thanks. No rain, that's good. I was wondering if you had any because the extended forcast keep calling for afternoon storms.

Speaking of storms, we are having one roll over us right now. The satellite just went out, so no tv for me. I hope it doesn't wake up the kids.

So I thought I was volunteering at Dorney Park next Sunday for Girl Scout day. However now I am not sure if I am eligible to volunteer or not. In today's mail I received a volunteer information packet from council, with a park ticket and a park map. In this information I discovered I am not old enough to volunteer.  Why did they not ask how old I am if there is an age restriction?? :confused3 I can run a Girl Scout troop, transport girls, etc but cannot volunteer at this council sponsored event. :confused3

I have to call on Monday and see if they will give me a special allowance or something. I need to be 25 to volunteer and am not. I don't know if they will give me an exception or not. It may depend on the reason for the age restriction.:upsidedow

Sorry guys, all I feel like I am doing recently is venting over stupid stuff.

Sending prayers, :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug:  to all of you.

For those of you arriving home I can't wait to see pictures. If you are leaving soon have a fantastic trip.

Yay!! We're at 96 days!:cool1:

I just got a call from the potential employer! This is very bizarre - her DH works for Dadboss!:rotfl2: She said Dadboss always says really nice things about me to her DH and she is convinced that they couldn't ask for a better applicant. So that's terrific! She said her current nanny is kind of deciding this weekend whether she wants to keep her hours or give up her job, but there is also the factor that her English fluency isn't very good. That is causing some issues with their DD6 because the nanny really can't read to her and help her with her homework. So let's hope that she decides to bow out gracefully and go spend some time with her new baby, and I can work out somethng with this family to be my new employers. I hope I like them!

I haven't had an interview in awhile!:rotfl2: And it really takes a lot of the excitement out of the August trip, knowing that the ticker is also ticking away the time I have left at my job.:guilty: I am encouraged about this family since they have already heard good things about me, and it wasn't like Dadboss was trying to market me to them, he was just talking to his co-workers.

So we chose a very sweet little multi-colored kitty and we will pick her up tomorrow! I am so happy that we decided to go through this rescue group!:goodvibes

Elizabeth -- great news about the potential employer! Also wonderful news about the new kitty. I hope you grt her tomorrow!

Karen -- I hope the interview on Thursday went well. How is your attendant's son's friend doing?

Tom -- darling pics of Leighanna!

I'm hot, tired and pretty stinky right now, but I'm glad that we got all the games in. We may have more storms tonight. That would be fine with me -- I'd love to have more water for the yard.

The boys played well today in soccer and baseball. Yeah! Unfortunately, their teams didn't fare well. Andrew's soccer team lost about 10 - 0. This has been a hard year moving up to an older league. He did play well. Jake's team lost 3 - 1. He also played well. We had a short break for lunch, then had to leave for the baseball field at 1:40.

Andrew's team played a team made up of most of the select team he plays on. We played well for a few innings, but ran out of pitchers. Andrew pitched a complete game last night -- striking out 8 batters, but that made him ineligible to pitch today. We had to save at least a pitcher or two for the last game, so he had to play weak pitchers. Andrew had a walk, and then a great base hit. He caught a fly ball, but did drop one. It was one that was kind of iffy if he would get to it as he had to run quite a ways.

I missed most of Jake's first game, but he played great. He had a home run, another good hit, and played great at third base. He even threw a kid out from third to first. In his second game, he also had a home run and another great hit. He played first base in that game, and did well. His team did lose both games, though.

Then Andrew played his second game. He played second base and played very well. He had another good base hit and another walk. His team beat the team that beat them the other night pretty soundly.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms in our group!

Hi, Jennifer!

Let me think...

Yes, Jen got her topper!

Elizabeth is still looking for a job, but there are a couple of potential jobs for her. Just waiting for interviews, etc. Most importantly...Toad is gone!!! She and her family are in the process of adopting a new kitty, since one of their 2 (Amanda) had to be put down.

Theresa and her family are getting settled in their new house. We're still waiting for pictures...hint, hint Theresa!

Tia and Terra are leaving today for Disneyland. It is Tia's birthday trip.

Jen (bear) is still experiencing a lot of nausea, and quite a few migraines. Her grandmother has been diagnosed with liver cancer.

Lots of DDA kids are involved with sports right now, and they all seem to be doing well!

Lindsay is gearing up for a summer like last one. Lots of work and not enough down time!

Tom is on vacation and is spending a lot of it putting up a new playset for Leighanna. We're still waiting for pictures of that, too!

I'm down to 22 days to my DL vacation, and things are right on schedule. Shirts are made and packed, lots of other surprises for my kids are hidden in various parts of my bedroom just waiting for the trip to California.

Stephanie is also quite busy at work, but she did have a great time at the World with her family!

Tammi had a great trip to WDW for Alyssa's birthday (but I think you probably already know that!)

Deb came up with a spectacular teacher thank you idea, and it has gone over quite well with the boys teachers (not to mention Tammi's kid's teachers as well). Have we mentioned lately that Deb is Super Mom?

Haven't heard from Vicki in a while. I know she was working on some projects around her house, and work was keeping her busy for a time. Hopefully, she'll pop on and update us!

Robyn's family all seem to be ok. Molly had her ultrasound and the doctor's couldn't really find anything wrong regarding the reflux problems she has. The pediatrician told Robyn to put her back on the regular meds until further stuff is done.

Anne Marie and her family celebrated Daniel's first Communion last weekend, and she said it was lovely! She's been busy with lots of family because of that.

I know I missed several people. So chime in everyone, and let's get Jennifer back up to speed!!!

Thanks for the update. Perfect!!! I feel all caught up now...

100 days til Disney!!!!!!!!!:woohoo: :yay:
:woohoo: :woohoo:
Hey guys, I figured I'd better stop in so you all know that I'm fine. I was in Lansing this week. Since my laptop display went out, I couldn't DIS in the evenings. I am crazy busy on the project at work. I worked all hours of the day and night. It is going very well but there is lots that needs to be done as quickly as possible. Once things get underway, it shouldn't be so bad.

I don't know that I'll be around much this week-end either. We are working on the house and camper getting the house ready for graduation and the camper ready for camping.

I hope that all are well. Here's some pixiedust: for those that need it.

It's a Small World Afterall!!:hippie:

:wizard: Good luck for a 2nd!

:wizard: :grouphug:

Congrats to Laura!:woohoo:

:grouphug:

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I would love to see the Four Tops or the Beach Boys-but they are so early in the month.

We're going to get to see Little Richard. And my very favorite TBD!! You can always bet, if I'm going to be in the World, you can just bet TBD is playing that week!!!:dance3: :lmao:

Marci - I am glad the boys got to play their games, even if the results were mixed! Wasn't it nice NOT to be rained on for a day?:)

Jen - Glad your evening of babysitting went well! This is the first weekend in quite awhile that I haven't had any sitting lined up. Where are those 3 families who all wanted me on the same day a couple of weeks ago?

Becky - That is odd about the age restriction on volunteering. Hopefully they will say you can help!

Tom - The pics of Leighanna and her friend are precious! How fun for them to finally have their egg hunt!

DH is getting ready for work and I am wide awake now. That happened last night, too.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the DDA moms & grandmas! If DS takes me to McDonald's I can have free breakfast. We'll have to see if I feel like driving to McDonald's later!;)

Welcome Home Bernadette - Glad you had a wonderful trip, I hope all your little ones are feeling better today.

Comgratulations on Graduation Jen - sorry it's a couple of days late.

Glynis - your shirts look great

Elizabeth - Congrats on the new kitty, I'm glad you decided not to take a chance of exposing Aurora. Good luck on the job front, this one sounds very promising.

Janet - I'm glad your fire was minor and everyone is ok

Jennifer - Sorry to hear that your still not feeling well, Grandma is in my prayers.

Anne Marie - loved the family pictures, your family is gorgeous.

Tammi - I'm glad you had a great trip despite the rough start. Loved the pictures of the kids.

Tom - yes I do like Leighanna's shirt. I also love the french braid, that was my favorite hair do for my girls when they were little. I wouldn't change a thing with my DGS, but I am also looking forward to having a DGD one day to play "dress up" with again.

I hope everyone has a great Mother's day, I always seem to get in a "funk" on Mother's day since my mom passed away. I'll do my best not to let my family know as they are trying to make the day special for me, but I am in tears as I type this, I miss her so very much.

So here's what I came up with for the possible P&P party. I know it's not all that Disney but I think DGS will really like the Pirate image.

PirateParty.gif

Of course for me I'll have to make one that says "Forget Pirates"

:rotfl:

Well, I guess it did rain some, too... I was just miserable in the heat so that's all I remembered! :rotfl: The storms were all at night, and we got showers once or twice during the day. Not bad at all!
