Oh, that's right! Have a great trip and a very happy birthday!! that the SIL gets her head on straight and skips the pictures today so no one has to worry.

SIL went to the pictures at 10:45 and actually made it to the airport just minutes after us. We checked our bags with the kiosk and went to the ladies room and they were walking into the ladies room just as we were walking out. My friend would have been SOOO mad if they had beat us to the airport. We all got along great and had a wonderful time.

Here is our new kitty. Not a very flattering photo, but since we don't have her home yet it is the best I can do. I think DH took a pic of her with his phone yesterday, but I don't know how to get it OUT of the phone!

i need to ask for some MAJOR prayers. my attendants friends brother who is 12 went to the eye doctor on friday because he told his mom that he saw blood in his eyes. the eye doctor said to get to the ER immediately. come to find out he has a cancerous brain tumor and he is having major brain surgery tomorrow. the outcomes of the surgery are he'll be fine then do radiation/chemo, die, become paralyzed, or have mental challenges. so please pray that the surgery goes well and he will be okay. and if he does pass (which we are praying not) that his family will have comfort knowing he is with Christ. I will let you know his name later i didnt get that from my attendant earlier.

How tragic! Hope to hear better news as I catch up.

Before going to bed last night Garrett told me he misses Disney & is ready to go back now. I wish I could take them on a quick trip, but at this time I don't see it happening

I asked him when he gets older & has children if he will let me go with his family to Disney. He said sure, you will help me pay for the trips right? I pay for them now, so I guess he thought I would always be paying lol Of course I would pay my way & if he needed a little help I am sure I would help all I could, but I would never tell him that!

We've been telling Lizzy & Joe that they have to get good jobs when they grow up so they can take us to the GF and Poly.

Was it wiggly before you went? I had no idea Joe had a loose tooth. His came out in a bagel at school. DH couldn't find the tooth fairy stash so he got quarters instead-which he seemed really happy with.

Party was loads of fun, but I only sat long enough to eat.

I'll have to post pictures of what I bought myself at WDW with my gift card and Disney Dollars. I did the pick a pearl in Japan and put the pearl in a "cage" for a necklace. I bought myself some 14K gold Mickey earings and a David E Doss print for my 1/2 bath. I got Mickey & Donald's Fun in the Sun. I have a border in that bathroom on the floor that is an "old fashion" scene of kids on the beach so I think that the print will look great in there.

Daniel's communion was lovely. Yesterday was sunny & warm. Daniel did 2 readings & all went well. Today we had the celebration with family & friends which also went well. The D.J. kept the kids busy & dancing & playing games. The food was good..yummy penne ala vodka & chocolate cake...yum. I will post pictures asap.

Hope you had a good weekend..I am pages behind..I know Tammi must be home by now so "welcome back Tammi, hope you had a great time!"

I've got one I brought home for a friend. Good thing I'm not feeling 100% or I'm not sure it would last til Monday for me to bring it in. Why didn't home one (or 2 or 3 or 10) for me?

I did 5 loads today, and even got the suitcases unpacked and put away, in under 24 hours from returning home. I think that is a record for me.

That's great! I've got my big bag unpacked but still need to do laundry and unpack my carry on.

Well the interview is over...they said it was more of a screening interview..they asked me about 5 or 6 questions and talked ab out my student teaching and that was it...they will call if interested for a 2nd interview..whew!!

okay an update on grandma.

It is not bone cancer. But they found a pretty good size mass on her liver. she had the biopsy this morning. we will have to wait a few days for the results. Continue to pray that it will not be cancer. TIA

We had a good time in Albany, and both of Laura's routines qualified for Regionals!!! That means we'll be in Hamden, CT for my birthday weekend. From there, I hope at least one routine can head to Nationals at Miami University in Oxford, OH. Sorry, Anne Marie, the decision was made to skip the Long Island meet this year. It falls on the same weekend as try-outs for Empire State Games, and there were a few other conflicts.



Today I went to the funeral for the mother of a friend of mine. She died in her sleep last Thursday unexpectedly. It was so sad.

I am always venting to friends. It's a good outlet for me, especially when xh2b does something that really ticks me off. The only thing that really upsets me anymore is when it seems like he doesn't put the kids first. Or when he says something stupid like "I'm entitled to have the kids for holidays too. It's my right." When he is the one working 12 hr. days (including commute), coming home and fixing dinner, shuttling the kids to activities, getting their homework done, bathing them and putting them to bed, and starting all over the next day, then he can talk to me about rights! Things like that are what stresses me out. But now that soccer is over and school is winding down it won't be so bad for me. But it will start all over again in the fall, with 2 in school now. Also, it's good to have Bob to talk to since he's recently been through this too. He gives me the 'guy' perspective, and since he can rationalize things without being emotional involved, sometimes he can help me to see other sides of things. Ok, vent over. Thanks for asking, Glynis.

well, it looks like we get "TBD" for our weekend at F&W and the Party for the Senses! That usually means someone backed out just about press-time.

But, The Four Tops are there from the 22nd on so Bob and I can see them!

I would love to see the Four Tops or the Beach Boys-but they are so early in the month.

hope everyone ishaving a good weekend. a quick up date on me. i didnt go for the open house wednesday so i will go this wednesday. i have a bug bite on my arm and its an ugly one so we are watching it to see if i might have to go to the doctors. i went to my friends get together today at her house. had fun just wish i could have stayed longer. she is 24 weeks pregnant and doesnt look pregnant. saw the babies room and its adorable. i saw her 2 labs and boy are they hyper ones. buddy can jump like 5 feet straight up.

elizabeth with all this talk about kitties you have made me want one really bad. i know exactly what i want but have to wait til i move out. whenever that is. i want a siames female and i guess a male too. names would be elphie and mater

The kitten we almost got was Siamese. The one we chose today is just a plain cat. Does Shocker like cats? The lady at one rescue place told us kitten season will last until October, so you have plenty of time to move out and find a kitten or two!

this is our cat now, Houdini. shocker leaves him alone. he is kind of a mean kitty. if she walks past him he bats his paw at her. the other day we dropped a piece of chicken on the floor and we were gonna let shocker get but Houdini and shocker got there at the same time. well shocker got a paw in the face.

How did the rest of your week go? How was the weather?

Hey guys, I figured I'd better stop in so you all know that I'm fine. I was in Lansing this week. Since my laptop display went out, I couldn't DIS in the evenings. I am crazy busy on the project at work. I worked all hours of the day and night. It is going very well but there is lots that needs to be done as quickly as possible. Once things get underway, it shouldn't be so bad.

I don't know that I'll be around much this week-end either. We are working on the house and camper getting the house ready for graduation and the camper ready for camping.

I hope that all are well. Here's some for those that need it.

Hi Vicki. I've been meaning to PM you just to check in. I'm glad that you are ok, other than being busy. Hopefully life will slow down soon and you'll be able to jump back in here with us.

Yay!! We're at 96 days!

I just got a call from the potential employer! This is very bizarre - her DH works for Dadboss! She said Dadboss always says really nice things about me to her DH and she is convinced that they couldn't ask for a better applicant. So that's terrific! She said her current nanny is kind of deciding this weekend whether she wants to keep her hours or give up her job, but there is also the factor that her English fluency isn't very good. That is causing some issues with their DD6 because the nanny really can't read to her and help her with her homework. So let's hope that she decides to bow out gracefully and go spend some time with her new baby, and I can work out somethng with this family to be my new employers. I hope I like them!

I thought we already agreed it is a boy? I carried DS ALL in front, like I was trying to shoplift a basketball. But he was up pretty high, even when I went into labor. And I had the super-dark line coming down from my belly button. It was so dark if I wore light colored pants you could see it through the fabric.

So, are you ready for verse #2 of "Small World"? When DH & I first got married I worked retail management. The lady in charge of the cat rescue group we just met with used to be one of my part-time employees! She was still in high school then. I saw her name on my Caller ID and I wondered if it was her. Her married name is on her cell, but her home phone is her maiden name. So when we got to Petsmart she came out to meet us and it was her! We always got along really well - I loved working with her. So we chose a very sweet little multi-colored kitty and we will pick her up tomorrow! I am so happy that we decided to go through this rescue group!

I carried mine exactly the same and ended up with one of each.

Hi Chanon. Today we had Alyssa's ballet picture taken, which means I had to be at the studio at 10AM. Her recital is next weekend. Then Bob and his daughter came over and we went to the mall for a few things, had lunch and went bowling. Nicholas spent the day with his dad, which gave them some guy time. I know this doesn't really mean anything, but I carried Katie really high. In fact, I felt all bruised on my ribs, because she would drum on them. Really hard!

With Jacob, I carried very low. Extremely low! From about month 3 on, he was very firmly settled head down, and ready!

Olivia was like Jacob from about 4 months she was low and head down.

We really like the Mickey Phone building in the 70's. Do NOT let them put you in Roger Rabbit in the 80's because it is WAY far away from everything, even if you cut through the parking lot.

Tammi - When DS has a loose tooth I usually get one of those little "flosser" things (a little piece of floss on a handle) and run it along the gum line - the tooth pops right out. Although I am pretty sure all of DS's baby teeth are out now.

Just popping on to say "hi", and all around. I was trying to catch up last night, and about that time the boards were going nuts, and I lost my long multi-quote response. So, know that I was thinking of you, but I'm not about to retype all that!

Work is really starting to heat up - our first interns arrive next Monday, ugh. It's a marathon of meetings leading up to next week, too, plus my parents are coming in this weekend, so I need to clean the guest bathroom since we just repainted (again), etc. Plus, the weather stinks, and the thunderstorms woke me up last night. I'm with you guys, Marci and Elizabeth - we need the rain, but I could do without the severity (and the humidity).

But, on a brighter note, I ordered a laptop last week, and saw this morning that it has shipped - I may get it as early as Friday! We also got our MNSSHP and MVMCP tickets yesterday, and are officially under the 200 mark for our Dec. trip!

Hi All, let me just start this with a reminder to make sure your FIRE ALARMS are working!

I have not had a good morning & one of the worst scares of my life. Before the boys left for school all of our alarms went off. I thought there was a malfunction or something. Garrett got the alarm upstairs off & I got the one downstairs. We head to the basement to get that alarm & when we open the door, smokes comes rolling out. I know I shouldn't have, but I went down to see what was going on. The water heater was smoking & then it went into flames. Ok I am really in panic mode now & tell the boys to get out. I call 911 & tell them I have a fire in the basement. The lady on the phone tells me to make sure everyone is out of the house, yes they are but I want to go back in because I am in my underwear(I can laugh now). She keeps saying ma'am you must stay outside. Well 3 firetrucks pull up & I run quickly in the house, grab my pants & go back out. As the guys are walking up, I am pulling my pants up. I know that should not have been important to me, but for some reason it was. I knew my boys were safe & Garrett had gotten our cats.

Anyway the wires on the water heater went wonky & caught the insulation on fire. They got it put out & brought a machine in to get the smoke out. Other than needing a new water heater & the basement smelling horrible, my family & home are ok.

My mind is still reeling & I feel like I am in a fog. This was very scary & my nerves are shot! I thank god that I was home & that our fire alarms are connected to where when one goes off, they all go off. If no one had been home, we probably would not have a home right now. I am also thankful that my family was safe, I have to many what ifs right now & I need to get them out of my head!

So please everyone make sure your alarms are working properly, as I found out this morning you never know when you might need them.

I'm so glad you're all OK and the damage was limited.

jus tstopping by to say hello..the field trip was fun and they ahd a little going away party for me--so sweet! they gave me a picture of the kids, and 2 teachers gave me 25 dollars to barnes and noble each..so yay!

We just made the 1st payment on the house. I did call to tell our landlord(well he's not anymore, but he is who we are buying from)about what happened & he is getting us another one! I did not ask, he just offered, so I was very happy.

We have Ins., but the deductible cost more the water heater would & as far as smoke damage it is contained to the basement(it is not much though), thank goodness!

Hello everyone I thought I would just pop in to say hi and let everyone know how we're doing. I miss being able to chat but things with Zack and school has been hectic. Throw a few ER visits in and what a spring. Effie was climbing in the kitchen and fell and cracked the back of his head so needed stitches. But we are doing well.
Zack is now on some medication and I feel like we're actually making progress. He has autism spectral disorder and PDD-NOS and is being evaluated by a occupational therapist for sensory integration disorder.
The kids have 1 month of school left and I have a ton of volunteer things to wrap up. I hope everyone is doing well and maybe I'll have some free time when school gets out to DIS. I still have to plan our family's GG for this Dec. ADR's have to be made in June and I'm nowhere near figuring out what restaurants every family can agree on.
Well I'm off to gather up things for teacher appreciation week. Thank you to everyone who prayed for Zack this year as things are starting to go somewhere and I feel prayer had something to do with it. Thanks and I hope everyone has a great May.

Have you guys heard the rumor that in 2008 there will be no tips included on the DDP? Interesting. We already know that we come out ahead with the DDE card. The only reason we have DDP for August is because it was free. Would you still buy DDP if you had to tip out of pocket?

I think a lot of folks like the meal plan because it is so easy. Having to pay your tip would be a big change. I didn't love the meal plan but DH did. It works for us if we choose character meals because I have 3 children. I swore I would never pay for DDP but DH enjoyed it so much that I really have to do it for him.
