I cannot imagine having 4 of my own children and still taking care of 3 that aren't mine! :scared1: She must be a saint. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Would this mean more money for you, since you would have 3 kids as opposed to 2?

Well, nannies typically don't price their services per child. I won't go into my new job making the same amount I make now (if I can help it) even if it is only one child. I am quoting every family I talk to a higher salary than my current one because I didn't get a raise this year. My salary is also under market because I worked far too long for a mom who was really unfair when it came to raises. When I babysit I add $2 per hour to my baseline price for each additional child, but figuring my salary is a little different.

Glynis--love the shirts and pictures!!!!!

You have done an outstanding job, Glynis!:thumbsup2

:sad1: Poor things. Do they have any idea what it is?

The foster mom said the vet claims not to know what it is. I say it is FP, which is the cat form of distemper. But they have supposedly been vaccinated against it. I am guessing maybe the vaccines were administered too close to exposure? I don't know. And I don't know what the incubation is for FP. The foster mom seems to think our kitty is in the clear if she is still OK on Saturday.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am sorry you made me giggle....this really is a personality of hers...she uses one a decade, sometimes a little shorter, sometimes a little longer. This one is one we only see for a couple of weeks at a time. I expect the nasty one back at any time.

I thank you all for the good wishes!!

I am glad you are getting settled! Hopefully when Grandma's personas switch again you won't be anywhere around!

For those of you who donated to June's fund for Bert's Big Adventure, I have some sad news. One of the children who went on the trip in Jan 2007, James Bell, died this past Saturday, May 5, of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Here a link with pictures from the trip. Thank you all for donating and giving this child and his family one last fun weekend at WDW. God bless you.

How sad!:guilty:

So you good to read you, Christi! It sounds like things are improving there, if still crazy. Our prayers continue that Zack gets the help and support he needs (and you too!).

Hi, Christi!:)

Jen - What fun graduation goodies!!

We haven't made a decision one way or the other about the kitten. The vet's office said we should back out of the adoption. My friend who is a Great Dane foster agrees. (I know, she is a dog person but I wanted to get her take on it since she fosters.) I can not find ANYTHING online that says what the incubation of FP is, so I have no idea when it would be safe to assume she won't come down with it. I did call a lady with another rescue group that our vet suggested, but I am not sure how rigorous their screening process is.

My friend's mom lives east of here in a more rural area and she has 9 kittens at her place right now. My friend said she will bring me one if I want her to. Unfortunately those kitties haven't been tested or vaccinated for anything, so they could be sick, too. This shouldn't be so difficult!:sad2:

DH found out today that they are adding another store to his route the week of Memorial Day. He is not very happy.

so where is everyone tnight

Don't know. I am here. Brooding about the cat. The place the vet suggested must be related to that one nanny agency. You e-mail them, they send you a detailed application, they review the application and call your references, then they will let you know if you are approved or denied. The application process may include a HOME VISIT! Excuse me? They want to come look at my house before they allow me to adopt a CAT? Maybe we should go back to the city pound where we got Amanda 16.5 years ago!

wow elizabeth--i hope it all works out!

Hi everyone. Hopefully, I remember everything as I forgot to hit the quote button.

Stephanie - I am so sorry the next couple of weeks are looking so rough. You got all the :wizard: that I can send to help them along.

Denise - Thank you for the update on James. I am so sorry to hear that he lost his battle. The pictures are priceless. Thank you for the wonderful suggestion for our June memorial.

Elizabeth - Loads of :wizard: for the job possibilities. I hope that something works out for you. I am so sorry for all of the kitty problems. What a tough decision to have to make.

Tammi - Wonderful pictures from BBB and Day 3. Alyssa looks beautiful. :goodvibes:

Glynis - I love the shirts! You did a wonderful job.

Theresa - I hope that the migraine is gone and stays away. I think I'm battling a (so far) painless migraine right now as my eyes are not functioning properly at all. Congrats on your first night at home. I'll bet that it was wonderful.

To everyone else :grouphug: and :wizard:!!

Wow! I just got another call from a mom. This one is expecting her first baby Sept. 4. Can we all say "dream job"? The problem is that she doesn't need a nanny to start until October, which would mean a month of unemployment for me.:scared1: She did say that if we determine that it would be the perfect fit then they might consider keeping me on retainer for the first month. I sent her my resume, so now I am waiting to hear back from 2 families.

This all came about because of a mom I know from Little Gym. Her DD was in a class with Brother awhile back, and now we bump into each other ALL the time around town. I told her my job is ending and she sent out an e-mail for me, which is now generating calls. If I end up getting a job because of her I will definitely owe her a nice lunch!:)
Good luck!!!

I had the longest migraine I've ever had Monday and Tuesday...even after Imitrex it was 36 hours plus.:headache:

So I took a sick day from work yesterday and was actually sick. We spent our first night in the house last night:banana:

Jim and the girls have been so good about packing and schlepping stuff for me...we aren't going to get much more over to our house tonight....it's somebody's 40th birthday today. :woohoo: Everybody agrees that Grandma has become freaky nice.....I just remind them that it is one of her personalities....we just don't see it very often.
Fee; better soon.

Ok, here are the shirts. Feel free to pass this post, if you want. There are a lot of shirts! I didn't post all of them, since a lot of them are the same design, just different names.

Here we go:

These are for my brothers 3 kids. They were designed by Kristen (Cinderumbrella)

All the shirts came out great!

Well i was up pretty early today and i know friday ill be up REALLY early so im getting some sleep..have a great night!

so where is everyone tnight

I have been at work! I had a consultant in from Yamaha Corporation working with my composition student for his performance in July. He was supposed to be there from 7-8 but got caught in DC traffic and didn't arrive till after 8:00. I just got home and have not had dinner and I can't decide if I am more hungry or more tired! I was at work a little after 9:00 this morning!

So, although I am reading and appreciating everything I see on here, I am not responding tonight. There are great Tshirts and gifts and teacher appreciation ideas galore! Enjoy your evening, everyone!

Hi, Ellen! How are things at your house?

Anne Marie - I hope your BIL is having fun! I wish I was at Disney!

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for asking. Sorry I haven't been posting much. I have been reading along as much as I can, but I always seem to be in catch up mode, and don't get around to posting much.

Everything here is going pretty well. We went and picked up DS 18 at Michigan State this past weekend, so he is home for the summer, and will be starting his summer job on the production line at Kodak on Monday. DS 21 managed to get a job at Georgia Tech for the summer (at the last possible second before he had to come home for the summer) so he will be staying in Atlanta. I miss him, but the job is better for him, and he will be happier there.

I have still been doing a lot of sewing so I keep busy doing that when I get spare time.

I hope you get your new kitty soon, and that one of your new job prospects turns out to be just what you were looking for!!

Wow it has been slow tonight. I hope everyone is doing okay. I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

Sorry to hear this Denise. Thanks for sharing the link, looks like he had a wonderful time.

Thanks for all the nice comments about my shirts.

I'm heading off to bed. I'm determined to get up early to do some walking tomorrow morning, so I'm going to get an early night tonight! See you all tomorrow!

Gary & his brother got the hot water heater installed, so we have hot water again :thumbsup2

Chat with you all tomorrow, night!

I've used photoshow, which I got for free through roadrunner, but had to pay extra if I wanted to be able to burn onto my own dvd.

Here is a link to their website: http://www.simplestar.com/home/
Thanks Ellen. I've downloaded photostory from microsoft and if I don't like that one I will try yours.
