Sorry to hear this Theresa. I will keep my fingers crossed that tomorrow night you will all be in your new home :wizard:

We are still at the grandparents for at least one more night. :headache:

I had to show my face at work today...that took the only 2 hours that didn't rain today!! We got enough done with the house packed up that we were just going to take our mattresses over to the house and sleep on the floor....well the 10 block ride from grandparent's house to ours....Jim decided to chance it and we got soaked beds!! Even though they were covered.

This has been an odd move to say the least....the poor girls were so disappointed. :sad1:

You are all going to have so much fun! Looks like some great choices :thumbsup2

Hi Anne Marie! Happy to hear Daniels communion went well. Chocolate cake, oh that sounds good!

I am going to be so bad at Disney & eat all the yummy stuff I have been staying away from lol Wish I had a Mickey rice krispy dipped in chocolate right now ;)

Hi everyone,

Daniel's communion was lovely. Yesterday was sunny & warm. Daniel did 2 readings & all went well. Today we had the celebration with family & friends which also went well. The D.J. kept the kids busy & dancing & playing games. The food was good..yummy penne ala vodka & chocolate cake...yum. I will post pictures asap.

Hope you had a good weekend..I am pages behind..I know Tammi must be home by now so "welcome back Tammi, hope you had a great time!"

Glynis - Tell Alan I can relate! We moved 10 times from the time I was born until I was 19. (Not including me moving out when I was 18, then moving back in when my parents moved to TX from FL.) From the age of 19 to 36 I have moved 4 times. I don't like to move since we are too old to call up some friends who have trucks and promise them beer if they help us move.;)

My mother wasn't thrilled with all the moving we used to do, but Zales paid for the packers, the movers, all the relocation expenses, etc. Of course my father wouldn't allow her to participate in choosing the houses, so she and I just kind of went where he said to go. I can remember moving into houses that the previous owners left FILTHY, so my mother was cleaning for weeks.:sad2:

We moved.......so many times I can't count(I tried and lost count on just the ones my mom and us girls moved) ....as a kid. Since marrying Jim(16 years ago) we have moved 9 times so far. I used to think I had wanderlust and needed to move every once in awhile....not so much anymore.:rotfl2:

I decided to clean the carpets in my house today while it rained...figured easier to do it without furniture in there. I am not sure they ever did that before....and they didn't have a very good vacuum...kitty hair everywhere.
I couldn't sleep last night so I am now very, very tired.

Good Night All!!

I agree!!
Karen, I hope this one goes well!! At least you have an interview! I don't have any prospects at all.:sad2:

YAY!! Congrats!

Anne Marie - Good luck with the relatives! Congrats to Daniel!

I could use a nap, but I need to eat dinner and wait for DH to call. I have to go pick them up at the school when the bus comes back. DH called earlier to tell me the kids were playing some game where they had to scoop mucky water out of the lake in a bucket and carry it on their heads.:scared: Just the thought of it makes my skin crawl. UGH! So they are both all gross and muddy. Maybe I will take DH's car to get them. I don't want lake muck in the Black Pearl. Oh, DH just called to say they are on their way. They should be home before 9 PM. The paper said between 9 & 10 PM.

Elizabeth -- I'm glad they seemed to have fun. Was it an overnight camp out?

Well today is also the one year anniversary of alyssa dying..its been such a bittersweet day,,i read through the thread i posted when i was asking for prayers through Alyssa's illness...i miss her like crazy --i feel like i shouldnt since we only knew her for a bit, but its been so hard...is that strange

Hugs to you and congrats on your last day of teaching.

Hi all!! I am over 50 pages back and don't know if I'll catch up. If there is any news I need to know, please let me know!!

We got back at 1am this morning and it has been a long day with a long weekend to come. The house is a disaster from all of the drop and runs for people heading down to OK in a hurry and then again this morning with the very late night arrival home. Today was work, school, school carnival and lots of errands.

Then just when I was ready to start the cleanup, I realized that there is a leak somewhere around the back door (newly installed last fall) and the living room carpet is soaked for about a 2 foot radius from the door, plus wet down through the basement. GRR! We've been trying to wet vac and blow fans to dry things out as best as possible, but the rain is supposed to continue through the weekend so it's probably not over yet. Hopefully, Loews will be able to do something to fix the door since it isn't that old.

As for the trip, everything went pretty well. We left KS Sunday morning and headed straight to OK. Kristi left here Sunday afternoon after Rachel got home from camp. Phil and Chris left to drive down on Tuesday. The service on Wednesday was very nice. I had spent all of Tuesday (almost literally) working on a photo memorial for the service and despite some panics Wed morning it turned out perfectly. What I still can't understand is that I didn't shed a tear the whole time I was putting together the slide show, but as soon as it hit the screen I totally broke down. It must have been the addition of the music as the songs were picked by others and I didn't really know either song, but they were absolutley perfect choices.

There were SO many people there and a lot more family then we even expected. Meme's step-sons (she was married to Bob for less than a year 12 years ago before he lost a returning battle with cancer) flew in, including one coming all the way from London though he arrived at 9:50pm Tuesday and had to fly back out at 6pm on Wednesday.

I'm rambling now, I know, but I guess it's just a sign that things are still processing. I still keep thinking that I can just push speed dial 7 on my cell phone and hear her voice. I also can't help, but think of the things that I should have done sooner - called again, gotten the family reunion off the ground two years ago when we first talked about it, etc. I can say that I no longer regret in the least having given up my covetted World Series tickets as that was my final visit to her home, though we did get to see her a couple of times since then.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers this week. In many ways, I think the strength to get through the week came from the prayers of my family and friends. :grouphug:

I'm glad you are back safe and the service went well. :grouphug:

Garrett's game did not end till almost 11pm! I thought for sure it would be cancelled from the rain, but no the games went on. Was not a good night for them, oh well they have another game tomorrow night.

I hope the nights he has games during school do not go this long

Sorry it didn't go well! Our games all week were rained out, including the make-up games on Saturday.

:bday: Bernadette :cake:

:bday: Joe :cake:

Ditto!

Yesterday was a long day! I went to work, left to go to Riley's game(they lost 6-8 :(), went back to work to finish up. Came home for about an hour & then took Garrett to his game. His team has to show up an hour before start of game, so I went to the grocery store. Dropped the grocery's off at home & went back to the game. Garrett's team won 5-3 :cheer2: We were all starting to think neither team was going to score as neither team did score till the 5th inning! It was a great game though. Finally got home around 9:45, ate some supper, took a shower & fell out :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day, I need to get to work!

Congrats to Garrett's team! I hope Riley's team does better in the next game.

Here is our new kitty. Not a very flattering photo, but since we don't have her home yet it is the best I can do. I think DH took a pic of her with his phone yesterday, but I don't know how to get it OUT of the phone!

She is so cute! When I saw her I also thought of Cruella...but I love the latest A name too!

i need to ask for some MAJOR prayers. my attendants friends brother who is 12 went to the eye doctor on friday because he told his mom that he saw blood in his eyes. the eye doctor said to get to the ER immediately. come to find out he has a cancerous brain tumor and he is having major brain surgery tomorrow. the outcomes of the surgery are he'll be fine then do radiation/chemo, die, become paralyzed, or have mental challenges. so please pray that the surgery goes well and he will be okay. and if he does pass (which we are praying not) that his family will have comfort knowing he is with Christ. I will let you know his name later i didnt get that from my attendant earlier.

Prayers for him and his family! :grouphug:

It is chilly here tonight as well. I am sitting on the couch with a blanket.

Oh my -- we are sweating here!

I'm so glad the communion celebration went well!

I'm glad to see that Tammi and Steffy had great trips!

Sending PD to all those who are sick or under the weather. :wizard:

We are supposed to get more rain this week -- I hope it is without thunderstorms this time. We lost a huge tree down by the pond on the family land. It was pulled up from the roots!

Have a great week everyone!

Good night, Theresa!

I am folding laundry. But I didn't remember to bring hangers out of DS's room before he went to bed, so I will have to hang up his shirts tomorrow. I only managed to do about 4 loads today, so that means there are still about 6 loads left to do! I only have one pair of clean jeans, so I definitely need to get to that.

Hi, Marci!

Yes, it was overnight from Thursday to Friday. They went to Thousand Oaks Ranch near Corsicana. I think they both enjoyed it, though DH said his route was a disaster when he went in this morning. Since Toad quit they just had 3 different guys cover his stores and of course none of them cared about doing a good job. But it was important for him to go with DS. His stores will get back in shape. His next paycheck will be paltry, but that's life.
I am sorry to hear about the big tree! But I am glad it wasn't near any of the homes or other buildongs! I am so sick of all the thunderstorms! It feels like it has been raining for a month!

guess im going to head to bed..i want to try to sleep tonight--figure cant worry about this interview anymore!

Good night, Jen!

There isn't any sense in worrying. You have done what you could to prepare, you know the basics of interviewing, there isn't anything else that you can do that would have any impact on the outcome. Try to get a good night's sleep so your brain will function properly and your answers will be intelligent and well thought out. Sleep deprivation makes people incoherent.;)

Thanks! Sorry to hear all your games were rained out.

Riley's coach told me yesterday that I need to buy him a pair of slider pants. I had never heard of these before, but I know what they are now lol Riley took a hard slide into 3rd base yesterday & has a nice strawberry from it(new term for me. I thought it meant a bruise, but it is more like a rug burn).

Congrats to Garrett's team! I hope Riley's team does better in the next game.

Elizabeth my laundry baskets are always full of dirty clothes, I just can't ever seem to get ahead :confused3

Night, Theresa! Here's hoping that tomorrow looks better. Is your weather supposed to be better? I'll keep my fingers crossed that your mattresses get dried out so that, no matter what, you'll be able to sleep in your new home!

Yup! You need your sleep! You'll be fine at your interview! Just don't stress out about everything. You know all that you need to know, and you are very good at what you do!

OUCH! That sounds very unpleasant!

Elizabeth my laundry baskets are always full of dirty clothes, I just can't ever seem to get ahead :confused3

It isn't just the laundry baskets here, either! The laundry baskets at work are always overflowing, too! Especially last week when Brother was sick. Then he had multiple issues with the potty. I *think* he tries to pee standing up when I am not looking, but that never works out for him. So his clothes are wet, the floor is wet, and he tries to hide the evidence. But I always catch him.;) Momboss said yesterday he just stood in the middle of the kitchen and wet himself for no particular reason. I think it is because he is tired all the time!

We had a fun night, tonight! Our movie was "The Lion King", and I don't think we've watched it all together in a couple of years. It was a lot of fun! The kids love it! They are getting so excited about our trip! They are counting down the days, and planning just who gets to ride what with Grandma and Grandpa! They've even convinced my mother to ride Grizzly River Run. Now if we can just get my dad on Splash Mountain, my kid's vacation plans would be complete!

Tomorrow I get to babysit my great-nephews, and I love it! They are so darling, and really no trouble! While they're here, I'm hoping to finish the autograph pages, and get my packing lists done. Slowly, but surely, I'm whittling away at my "to do" list!

Good night all! I'm heading off to bed!
