I really need to go to bed! The meeting went will yesterday or um...Monday as it's already Wednesday now...I will post more details later.

Just a real quick update on my Mom. She has finally started participating in activities at the nursing home even a few "field trips". She's even putting on lipstick which is HUGE as she wasn't getting out of bed or dressed. Seems there is a new male resident.:rotfl: We are all so happy that she's finally participating in life again! She looks so much better too!

So last night I was positive about this job, however I am no longer quite so positive. The more I looked at this job and potential locations for any of the 5 positions, the more it is looking like I will definitely need to move in order to take any of these positions and it might not be for me. Any of these positions would be like a minimum of an hour commute without traffic. Add traffic and it suddenly increases to about an hour and a half or longer depending on location. Lets just say a 3-4 hour daily commute is not what I would like. I need to research all of these areas more to see about potentially moving to these places. Did I mention they told me they would like to have a decision for these positions by Friday.

Plus another negative is I most likely will not get to work with the girls very much and instead will be working with adults. Plus I would no longer be eligible to volunteer, which is what I pretty much figured. This is not a major deal but something for me to contemplate.

I did talk to the interviewer more today and she discussed with more about the job and the possibility of the two other locations. Still no talks about salary, benefits or anything of that sort. So not sure how I can say if I am interested considering those factors may automatically make me decide this is not for me. As if I don't move I may go broke buying gas, but I might not be able to afford the areas in which I would potentially be moving if I were to decide to take any of the jobs. Everything is pretty much speculation though at this point.

I guess all I can say for now is tell them I am interested in any of the 5 positions and just go from there. The positions are the same just at different locations.

I'm off to bed to hopefully sleep and not spend all night in bed just thinking about this.

Hope everyone had a great day. Thank you for listening to me try and figure out this whole thing.
I'm sure this is all quite stressful for you, Becky. Did you ask anything about salary and benefits? You really should do that, as you can't make a decision without knowing this. I feel your pain about a long commute. I hope as the days go by that the answer becomes crystal clear for you. :wizard:

That's great news about your mom, Bernadette! See what a little eye candy does for ones spirits. :rotfl2:

I think the interview went well. It lasted over an hour. It would be something I would be interested in doing. The only thing is it would be like an hour commute each way everyday. However I would only be working 35 hours most weeks, which would be full time. They will be calling back for second interviews sometime this week. They want the 3 positions filled by Friday. My big concern is my store has a lack of staff and if they call me back for a second interview I am not sure if I would be able to go.

I also went out to Applebee's for my Dad's b-day which is tomorrow. It was the first food I really ate today except for a rice krispy treat and a piece of toast as I felt pretty crappy this morning.

I have to go to the DMV tomorrow to get my photo taken for my renewed driver's license. I am also picking up my Grandma so she can get her picture ID photo retaken as she does not have a driver's license. I hope to not be there forever.

Sending good thoughts to Butch and his family.

Jennifer sorry the trip may not be working out as initially planned.

Sending good thoughts to everyone else.:wizard:

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: that you hear something on a 2nd interview soon and it works for you to get there!

Good morning, DDA!

Oh good grief! What idiots!

Yay! WTG!! :thumbsup2

Debbie, I think I would get ready for things to get unpleasant.:sad2: Animal cruelty and illegal burning can NOT lead to anything good.

Anne Marie - Congrats! You are doing great!:thumbsup2

So Jim needs all of your prayers....he asked for more responsibility so I gave him the responsibility of making the reservations (that we've already payed for) for our first part of the trip......at the same time I did our Disney reservations....I asked him today to make sure he made reservations....he can't even find the paperwork :scared1: and no reservations have been made.

He tells me this after I had an icky, no good, just plain rotten day!!

Doh!:headache: I hope today is better!

Terry - loved Chuckie's Travelog :)

Terry, very cute pics! Did you buy the frog lamp?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: this was supposed to be posted on another thread. That's what I get for having too many windows opened and watching POC :rotfl: :rotfl:

And here I was wondering "When were we talking about shoes?":rotfl2:

There are other threads?!?!

Bernadette, I am so glad your mom is improving!
I hope everything works out with Lizzy's school! I'm looking forward to hearing what they had to say!

We're off to the cheap movies today. Of course it is kind of far to go up there, so it won't be all that cheap by the time I pay for gas. On the other hand, what's a few gallons of gas if it keeps the kids happy for awhile?

Since school is out Brother and Sister are either tearing the house apart or fighting with each other. I think not having the structure of the school day has really intensified the "no nap" issue. They are both so tired in the afternoon that they are impossible! And they WHINE. Sister is especially bad about whining. She just doesn't get that if they would go to bed at night that they wouldn't be so tired. They think it is great sport to get out of bed repeatedly. Next week she will be in camp until 4 PM every day, so we'll see how that goes! At least Dadboss will be the one dragging her out of bed in the mornings!

Happy Anniversary, Vicki & Chuck!!:cheer2:

Becky - I hope you get the info you need to make a decision! I agree that if you can't live on the salary that it doesn't matter how great the job is! And an hour or more in transit time is pretty steep. See what the compensation package is and go from there. DH has had issues in the past where an employer wants an answer RIGHT NOW and he hasn't had time to really think about the offer. He has also run into companies who don't want you to know exactly what the insurance benefits are until AFTER you are hired. (Luckily his friend's DW was a manager at that company and she gave him all the info. The insurance was CRAP! We would have ended up buying private health insurance and that would have completely obliterated the increase in pay they were offering! ) Good luck!

Here's some pics from tonight. It was Stephanie's preschool graduation. Click to enlarge

She's beautiful.

Bernadette,
Great news about your mom..I agree with what Tammi said.;)

Vicki & Chuck,
