Good morning :)

Elin I am happy to hear you heard from your friend!

Chanon congrats on your personal milestone :thumbsup2

Tammi & Stephanie you are almost there :cool1:

Sending :wizard: and a  for all of those who need it!

Lindsay -- just wanted to tell you to have a great time in case I don't get back on again before your last post before your trip. I'd love to see some pics when you get back.

Good news -- I did get a lot of closet stuff done last night! I have a lot of clothes and some shoes in my car to take to the re-sale shop today. I even cleaned out some of my things, which are the wrong size and/or are dressy outfits that I've worn as many times as I can. I did manage to get in to some dust, and sneezed my head off last night. I can tell another sinus infection is coming on, so I'm all doped up on allergy/sinus stuff hoping to stave it off!

Jake has soccer practice at 6 and Andrew has a game at 7:30 (Yuck, but I can't say anything about it to the coach -- he rescheduled one of the make-up games for this week because Andrew had no baseball games and could play in the soccer game. We have no baseball games because it's TAKS test week...)

Have a good one!

refresh my memory, Chanon.... is this a wedding in North Carolina you are going to? If so, looks like perfect weather!
Yep! Burlington NC. I'm more concerned about the Virginia Tunnells on 77S than anything. Of course I have a detour marked, but I'd rather fly than drive. Just get there and be done with it. But $100 in gas vs. $250 in flights isn't worth it this time...

Morning DDA! Last day of work before driving to NC! Last night I was a mad woman cleaning this house. Dusting, vaccuuming, sweeping (I love my Swiffer Sweeper Vac!), changing sheets, washing clothes and comforters...all I have left today is one bathroom and the kitchen sink. And clean my car. And pack. $&#*#&$! I always hate typing this, because I suddenly think of more!

Thanks for all the compliments on the cake and cake topper decisions BTW!!
You are a mad woman!!

BTW, NC is halfway to WDW!!!!!! ;)

TGM finally has the least crowded charts up for our days in October!!!

Pretty right on, if I remember correctly. But he is doing some new things, working best days around EMH, depending on if they are morning or evening.
I didn't know schools were off on the 19th!!! Do you think that's gonna effect MNSSHP? And Monday's bad for Anne Marie. Oh well! ~ We'll have fun no matter what!

We went to that same Thurs MNSSHP last year and didn't think it was bad. Of course, this no school on Friday might be a new thing!

This is the quickest way to tell everyone... I got a reply to my email and he is OK! :yay:

That's wonderful news!!

This is a drive-by. Wanted to check in to say hi. I've been working from 8am-10pm. I have barely had time to read my email let alone get on the internet. I probably won't be back until Friday or Saturday. Hope all is going well with everyone. :grouphug: for anyone that needs it.

Hope things are going well, Vicki!

We've had several lockdowns in the last couple of days, but the prize for stupidity goes to a man who took his BMW to the dealership for some repairs. They were quite expensive, and he thought they were covered under his warranty. Unfortunately, his warranty had run out, and he was told he would have to pay in full. He got very angry and demanded to see a manager. His words to the guy behind the counter, "You'd better call your supervisor, becasue he has a customer here who is going to pull a Virginia Tech down here!" The guy behind the counter didn't call his manager, but he did call the police. Customer is now behind bars, charged with making a terrorist threat.

How stupid can someone be?????

What a BONEHEAD!

I'm doing the

SINGLE DIGIT DANCE
:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Yay!!!:cool1:

Stephanie - Take heart! Windex is better than the PLUNGER I was using to fish baby wipes out of the hall toilet the other day. The package says "DO NOT FLUSH" for a REASON!:sad2: And I don't know if it was the kids or the parents who put them in there!

Off to the Dr. with Sister because she has some wicked mystery rash all over her face!:scared:

WOW. Those are great rates ($143 for Jet Blue)! I was paying $267 for May. :scared1: I did get a $18.50 credit yesterday so now its about $248. I've already booked August at $197.:cool1: I also got my friend going with me a $92.50 credit, another coworker $67 and another $47. Now if those dates went out to October I would just have to take it as a sign to book.:rotfl:

Did you sign up for that notification? I've never used Travelocity-I just always book right with the airline.

I am signed up with Travelocity to get notices about particular cities. You can set up something like 10 sets of cities and ask it to notify you if the price does something in particular. Mine are all set up to tell me if the prices drop below a certain amount. You can also set it up to tell you if the price just drops regardless of the amount or something else that I can't remember. I get notices for any city we regularly travel to/from and Boston is still being sent to me as well. I don't usually actually book through Travelocity. When I get the notice and want to use a price, I will always try the airlines website first. If I can get the same price through them, then I book directly. If I can't get the same price, then I will go through Travelocity.

I do have to say though, the DING fares are what is killing me. I keep getting $60 each way fares to Orlando and can't use them. :sad1:

Well, now I'm intrigued! You'll have to post a picture when you get them done, please?

Someone on the family boards posted a picture of the recipe page for me. It doesn't show the whole set up, but you can get an idea from the 3 it does show. Basically, it was set up as 3 rows of 7 cupcakes. The top row was the sky, the middle row, the sea and the bottom row the land. The top had one cupcake with the sun and the rest the sky and clouds. The sea was mostly ocean waves with a few sea animals in it. The land was grass, some flowers and a butterfly.

Sorry Elin. :flower3: But I must say I have never found anything in my slippers, they seem to like my big bathroom the most.

update on Mr. Aidan

Well it’s been a busy couple of days and I apologize for not posting sooner, however our internet at home has gone down AGAIN. Thanks Time Warner.

This week Aidan was moved out of his private room, to allow a child with much higher needs that privacy. He is still under contact isolation, gloves and gown but is able to say HI to all those that walk by again.

Yesterday ended up being a big day for him. In the morning he had a contrast study that showed good signs of things working inside with a few minor issues that can be resolved during re-connection. They are talking about drip feeding him in the next few days via his Mucus Stoma. This will help his kidneys and other organs that can be damaged if only supported via TPN’s and such which he is currently living on.

He also had another Echo Cardiogram and the results of this were even better. His heart they said during contraction was close to touching interior walls and not filling well enough to support his body. They gave this rating a 70 and high numbers are bad. Yesterday that number was reduced to 20 based on the medication they had prescribed over the weekend. The good news about this is that it’s not a permanent thing and they feel that a few weeks or months will resolve the issue and his heart will be back to normal.

The last step of the day was to remove his tubes once again and get him breathing unassisted. This went quite well and he is actually on a very low rate of flow with little assisted oxygen via his nasal canola.

All of this is leading up to the fact that they are still looking at reconnecting him in about 2 ½ weeks. He is still on track. We got to see his wound late last night and wow, does it look remarkably good. It is actually healing so well that we don’t actually see any interior parts anymore. It is soft pink and healthy looking.

Thanks for the continued prayers and support, we know that without the Grace of God and the support of Friends we would not have made it this far. It is still a little touchy as he will have to go through another surgery and the issues that go with that, but we know were our strength comes from.

Looks like good news all around.
