after much discussion.....................................and Ama saying no(as Cassidy said...but Ama isn't here she's in Maryland) ....................yes she's going as long as he is able to take her out before prom and I talk to his parents and we find a dress.

I hope she has fun! My prom was sort of a bust. I went with a friend because I was dating a guy who was 20 or 21 and he didn't want to go. We had a limo with at least one other couple (maybe 2). We went out for dinner first, then went to the prom. It was at a "historic" hotel, and the air conditioner was broken. In Tampa. In May. It was HOT. After the prom we drove aimlessly to where parties were supposed to be, but we never found any. Not terribly memorable!:rotfl:
EDIT: Well, on second thought, there was ONE memorable event. A boy named Danny decided to pitch a quarter down my cleavage at dinner. He had very good aim!

Oh, wow! That was kind of creepy! I just checked my e-mail and NOW there is a message from Blue Turtle saying my item has been shipped!:rotfl2: Cue "Twilight Zone" music! I checked it like 5 minutes ago and that message wasn't there!

Good morning...Molly and I have been enjoying our unexpected day off. :cool1: My daycare kids are home sick today. And I have Friday off too, makes for a short week.

Steffy~ Hang in there.

Elin~ You brought tears to my eyes.

Jen~ Enjoy your half day!

Tammi~ Wow, your trip really is close now.

Heidi~ How much do you charge to do laundry? ;)

Theresa~ I think as long as you and Jim meet this boy and feel comfortable with Cassidy going then she should. Good luck. I certainly am not looking forward to the teenage years.

Marci, Tia & Janet~

Lindsay~ :yay: on the tax refund. Small is better than owing!!

Chanon~ When Glynis mentioned the fall colored leaves I pictured in my head very subtle or muted fall colors.

Anne Marie~ Enjoy teaching your last class tonight.

Thanks for the comments on the girls! :goodvibes

Well it looks like most of the DDA likes the 1st cake.

Robyn, I take it you don't like to do laundry?

My last load is drying now.

Well, I decided to dust off photoimpact and play a little. I need to start making shirts for our trip afterall it is only 3 months away now. I'm not sure how many shirts or what designs I will use. I also need to finish autograph book pages and print those. That will be a project in and of itself.

Good morning, DDA!

Hi, Marci! I am glad you got the shirt you needed! Part of my worry stems from not having a sales receipt since the shirt was a gift. I spoke to 2 different CMs and listened to the recording about exchanges, but I am still worried. I just sent the shirt back to them with a letter requesting a bigger one. Hopefully they will send back a shirt, or call me if they don't have it. They did say I can call and verify that they received the package, but they wouldn't have had time to get it and log it in yet. I'll call in a couple of days.

Chanon, I still like the white one from yesterday, too. Like I would actually skip the link to the cakes! Right! ;)

Deb - The problem is that when I left my other 2 nanny jobs I was READY to leave. I was irritated enough that it wasn't that hard to go on to the next one. This time I don't want to leave, and they don't want me to go, it is just the way the schedule has worked out. So hopefully I will find a beautiful, roly-poly baby to take the sting out of the transition.:)

I ordered that T-shirt for DS from that Blue Turtle Kids website on Friday morning. I keep checking "order status" on their website, and it just shows that I was charged for the item. Yeah, I know that! How about SHIPPING my purchase that I have so graciously been charged for? I will give them another couple of days, then they are getting an e-mail.

Brother set the microwave on fire last night, so I think we are going OUT for lunch. Apparently he slipped into the kitchen undetected and decided to make popcorn. When I walked in this morning the whole house reeked of smoke, and he announced that he set the microwave on fire!:scared1: How he got the popcorn from the high cabinet and managed to put it in the microwave (which is also up high) is a scenario I prefer not to envision. At least nobody got hurt! (And the smoke detectors work pretty well, apparently!)

Well isn't brother an adventurer????popcorn::

So the guy was here to fix the phone. They were convinced the problem is in the building well the guy now knows it isn't. He was out with a ladder at the pole. He gave up and now they will have to send a bucket truck out. If they would have listened in the first place to the fact that we connected a phone directly to the pole and it was the same. Perhaps they would have sent the correct equipment out in the first place. But they kept insisting it was in the house. Who knows how long the phone will be out.

Keep the good thoughts coming for my co-leader and her family. Since they are trying to get their daughter help, she is rebelling even more. Doing anything she can think of to spite them, make them mad, cause them problems. Let's just say it is not a good situation right now.

I have to go back to work today. Lets just say I am less than thrilled.

Sending prayers, :wizard: and :grouphug: to all of you.

It's not that I don't like to do laundry, it just is a never ending task. I can't imagine what it's going to be like come July.

Good morning, DDA!

Wow, are the parents asleep when they do this kind of stuff? Obviously it's not something I can see happening on your watch.

I actually sent two shirts in, but only had one receipt -- the other one they took back was from our July trip. So I was especially pleased since I had no receipt and it was almost 6 months old, but still had the tag on it. Maybe you'll have that same PD!

And your youngest charge reminds me of my youngest child. A real mischievious/curiosity streak. Last night, Jake came to me after his shower saying his thumb hurt. I asked him to show it to me, and knew immediately that he had been playing with my razor. (Even though there are two other full showers in the house, they want to use mine because it has two shower heads...) I've warned them plenty of times that it will cut them, but I guess he just wanted to check and see if I was feeding him a line...he found out that I didn't... It's one of those that has the soap around it, so in order for it to cut him, he wacked the soap part off...he went to a lot of trouble to cut himself...

One thing I was proud of -- he didn't try to lie to me and tell me he did it some other way.....

Have fun on your days off! The pictures of the girls are great!

:wizard: that the phone gets fixed fast. I hate dealing with the utility companies. We have the cable and phone boxes in our front yard. Well one day Comcast came out and messed around in the Verizon box and when the guy realized it wasn't his box he left it open with all the wires exposed. I called Comcast and told them they needed to send someone back out to fix it. They said fine the first available time we have is Friday between 2-6pm. This happened on a Monday. Idiots, I tell you.

:wizard: for your co-leader and her family.

I've been trying to find a fall wedding cake with colored leaves - but I just don't seem to like them as much...here's one (sorry it's another cake Elizabeth, but you don't have to click if you don't want too!) but I like the white one still, then the chocolate one more than this - and I have no idea why! http://www.dianescakesandmore.com/fall_leaves_cakes.htm

I really like those! I love a punch of color on a cake, whether it's a ribbon or flowers. Whatever you pick will be perfect, Channon!

Well I need the power of DDA prayer.....that stuff way back when (about October) about my student loans....may make it hard for us to get approved for the home loan. The loan status is now static.

Chanon~ When Glynis mentioned the fall colored leaves I pictured in my head very subtle or muted fall colors.

YES!!!! That's what I was picturing in my mind. Very muted. Or possibly done in edible gold. My sister does a lot of edible gold on the wedding cakes she does.

Lindsay - I got the Disney Songbook (now I have Cocktail Hour music!! :rotfl: ) and to see if Bob like's the song "Beautiful" and Escape so I could listen to "Not Alone" as a father/daughter dance.

:thumbsup2

My oh my - I hope that whenever you do change jobs, that your bosses have the local emergency units on speed dial!

Sorry that you have to go back to work today, Becky. :wizard: for a stress-free day, and for the phone situation.

Theresa :wizard: :wizard: That you get it sorted out very quickly.

Elizabeth. It sounds like your bosses could already use you around more often with all the trouble those kids get into when you're not around now :scared1:
