Whew! The presentation is over and it went well. I'm going out to dinner with one of the other managers and then coming back to the room to veg for the night. Just wanted to stop by and let you know that I'm doing well here in Lansing. They got a blizzard in the U.P. and the snow has started down here. What crazy weather we have had this year! We've already ate our dinner. We had pulled pork that I made in the crock pot today with mashed potato and garlic bread. It was yummy although it is a little heavy in my stomach now. Scouts were cancelled tonight due to the weather. The roads are just starting to get covered now. It was strange seeing all the birds on the lawns and fields today trying to eat as much as they could as I suspect they felt the storm coming. It will be a few days until we see grass around here. I think we are supposed to have crappy weather through Easter. I guess the eggs at the Easter Egg hunt will stand out on a white ground

It's been a while and I thought I should check in and say hi to my DDA friends

I made alternate plans for us on Easter Sunday.....I am taking our ham over to our friends house. Since Grandma can't stand sitting at the supper table with any of us...we aren't giving her the opportunity. I special ordered a ham from our favorite local store and grandma had asked last night if I had thought about Easter dinner(pre blow up). I told her I had gotten a Heavenly Ham.
I told Jim that he gets to tell the grandparents our plans. If I tell them I am likely to back pedal and decide to just eat with them....I've been doing that my entire life. I think it's my trying to please everyone personality...but Big Bad Bertha is trying to come out too. I've stressed my tummy out....I've got a flare up of IBS going right now.

Chris....did you know your married to an awesome woman???

sounds like a good plan to me. Why spend any more time with them then you have to at this point.

update on my parents situation.

they managed to get half of the money they owed on taxes. the tax office told them that if they get hslf of it then they could pay the rest over the next 3 months. The realator they talked to says she thinks she can get my parents 400,000 for their house and lot. They are looking at 5 acres about 20 minutes from my house I think mom said the price for it is 175,000. Dad said he is not building another house he is going to get a double wide mobile home and put it on the lot.

Has anyone read any of the Hannah Swenson mysteries by Joanne Fluke? I just finished the first one "Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder" and I'm hooked! Not only is it a good mystery, but she includes recipes, too!!! Two of my favorite things! I tried the sugar cookie recipe today, and it is really good! I've got the second book on hold at the library, and can't wait to get it!
