With all the excitement going on at the codes & rates board about free dining, I started thinking about October..hope they offer some kind of discount for that!!!

Can you October travelers (or anyone really) help me out on this?

I am getting a 1 day base ticket with my Oct package (correct me if I am wrong Chanon.) I will need a 3 day hopper MYW ticket for Fri-Sun which costs $252.41. I don't need a ticket for Thurs since thats MNSSHP. The one day base costs $71.36. So I would like to upgrade the base for a 3 day hopper..so does that mean when I get to WDW (MK guest relations) can I upgrade my base ticket to a 3 day PH for $181.05? Is that right?

I was going to get an AP but with the cruise next year I think we will only be doing the parks for 4-5 days (if that).

Well i did all my work so i am done for the day! I am enjoying being a bum for my last day of spring break (except the weekend of course)

What are everyone's plans this weekend

Happy Friday to everyone - wow, you all were chatty over the last day! :rotfl:

Elizabeth - glad to hear you're feeling better! Good luck with the interviews!

Stay warm to those of you with the cold weather! We are expecting very volatile storms later this afternoon here in Texas - I'm afraid it could get interesting. :sad2:

Janet - thanks for the link to the Pinecone stuff! I've signed up before and didn't get picked, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for this time around. ;)

Channon - I like that B&R song (and I'm actually not a fan of theirs)!

Terry - glad to hear you arrived safely in Atlanta - although you definitely have a tale to tell!

Stephanie - good luck with everything today and this weekend. I'll look forward to seeing if any t-shirts get made!

Jennifer - congrats on hearing the baby's heartbeat!

Beth - Laura's dress is very pretty, and that's a great color on her. I hope she enjoys herself!

Vicki - good luck to you guys for prom shopping. I don't miss those days, although I actually rented all of my prom dresses (this is back in the day when they were obnoxious beaded affairs, and would have cost a small fortune to own  ).

Elin - why am I now envisioning you living in a shoe?! You should have known you would end up with a large brood of "children", all more than happy to be your excuse to head to Orlando! ;) :rotfl:

Theresa - happy anniversary, and continued :wizard: on the house.

Little Aidan will remain in my prayers, too. :wizard: :grouphug:

That sounds right to me, Anne Marie.

What are everyone's plans this weekend

We're actually heading down to Houston to visit our families, and take our dog to stay with her grandparents for the next few weeks.

Jonathan's b-day is Monday, so my mom is hosting our families for a big b-day get-together on Saturday. As things are quite tense between the rest of the family and one of my SIL's right now, it could prove to be an interesting day. Plus, the same SIL and BIL's children have very little discipline in their lives (are allowed to commonly run around like wild things), and they will be arriving at my parents' home, where my mom has near-white carpet, and all sorts of breakable things and furniture with sharp edges. Needless to say, I think Aunt Lindsay will be spending most of her time tomorrow being the "enforcer" while the parents sit on their butts and turn a deaf ear and blind eye.

Sounds like you have an..interesting weekend planned!
I know what you mean about being the "enforcer"--i have to do that alot too..hope its a good weekend anyway!!

I don't totally disagree with you, Tammi. It is better than northern Stafford or Prince William County. However, for a family starting out or needing to get a property in this area anymore it is next to impossible to find anything "decent" for under $275,000. A 1 BR condo on William Street is going for $160,000! And a little ranch house like mine, on a slab, in our neighborhood has an asking price of over $275,000. The city of Fredericksburg's own website lists the median house value at $475,000.

That sounds about right for prices in our area too. I think everything has double in price in the last 5 years. Our house is worth twice what it cost us to build it now :thumbsup2 Of course taxes have gone up too

We were at a 5th grade parents meeting last night (we will not go into the fact that I will have a middle schooler soon. ) when I realized we hadn't heard....I had Jim call Jane....from what he understood of what he heard...they've accepted our bid with one minor change.

Now all we have to do is wait for the loan approval!! I want to hear today so we can not only celebrate our anniversary but the fact that we will be home owners!!

:wizard: :wizard:   that you hear very soon. You don't need this stress now.

Elizabeth - looks like we are getting a Grand Villa so you and DS can both come. Of course, now with all the airfare and the Grand Villa and needing to stay for 2 weeks to celebrate two birthdays and all the meals that this will entail, I am now poor and cannot afford to pay my cable bill and won't be able to DIS anymore so you all won't know when we are going.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

In that case I'll take back my offer and just wait for our July trip. I wouldn't want to send my adopted Mom to the poorhouse ;)

I know that lots of you have DING! installed. Did anyone get a new DING! that has no link??

Mine had links, but nothing that we could use.

The kids are all off from school for the next week. It is a bit noisy around here today. I'm also trying to get the house picked up before we leave tomorrow. I need to grab a few items out of the camper too, but it looks so cold out there. Once they're done with lunch I can put a couple down for naps. I'd like one as I awoke with a sore throat and body aches. I need to work tonight so I'm popping the Advil and hoping for the best.

No - mine had a link?

What are you looking for, Elin? MCO or LA? MCO's dings are for Birmingham, Jackson, Nashville, New Orleans, and St. Louis.

Thanks, Lindsay...

It is very odd... I got one earlier today talking all about DC's Cherry Blossom Festival but I was unable to click it. Then a little bit ago I got another one that was linkable. Nothing there to help for the LA trip, but I had never gotten a DING! that I couldn't click before. :confused3

Well, that shoe may be all I can afford after paying for the trip my "children" are planning...

Maybe it was just an announcement? I know when SW announces that their schedule is now open through a new date, or if there is something specific to the city (like "Happy Opening Day" for baseball, etc.), they put a little blurb/announcement in the DING, but it doesn't have anything to do with discounts (and I don't think they're clickable).

What are everyone's plans this weekend

This afternoon is my normal teaching schedule.

Tomorrow morning I have dress rehearsal for our final Fredericksburg Singers' concert of the year. We are doing Brahm's Libeslieder Waltzes which I love! Then I am taking one of my students and her Mom to Richmond to show them the VCU campus. Jessica has been accepted as a piano performance major there as well as here at the University of Mary Washington. Her Mom has never been to VCU so this was a perfect opportunity to show her the campus and also take in a performance of "Smokey Joe's Cafe" at Theatre VCU. Kristin is not in this production so she will meet us for dinner after she is done with rehearsal and then we will all go to the show together.

Sunday I hope to relax a bit before my evening concert.

evening all

I just wanted to say that I heard the baby's heartbeat today. We also got to see the baby man was the baby moving you could see either the legs or arms moving.

Hi Jennifer
Glad to see you here.
Happy to hear baby is doing fine.
Don't be a stranger.
Pop in when ya can.

so maybe now I can afford the "shoe house" that Lindsay is imagining. I hope you are not getting sick! You don't need to feel badly with kids home and needing Mommy attention.

I hope everything is an easy fix too, Jo!

Bath exhast fan vent wasn't sealed properly.
Roof sealent was all it needed.
I don't like roofs (high places).
Fleetwood fixed it warranty no charge.

ah hah! that must be it! But I had never noticed that before. Thanks for the info, Lindsay.

That is terrific news, Jo! Enjoy the rest of your "sick day."

I'm looking more North Carolina, Tennessee, etc. Florida would be too warm some months of the year for me plus I need to be some place that does get a little bit of snow.

Come on Vicki Florida has snow every night in MK @ christmas time.

Yay! Isn't it nice when warranties actually work in the way they're intended to? :thumbsup2 I'm glad you got it fixed!

Good luck all is wrapped up soon.

It's a beautiful dress!!

For Cassidy's last year she had a simple new dress....you should have seen some of the girls dressed to the 9's. :scared1:

Thank you! I had something much simpler in mind myself. One of the hard parts is that we went with three of her friends and their mothers. I am happy that she is happy, though I still think we could have gone a bit simpler and less expensive.

Beth
