I'm joining the club of kids with colds. Nicholas has had a stuffy/runny nose for 2 days now. I've been giving him Dayquil to try to ease it. I just hope it doesn't progress into a chest thing. He had croup a lot when he was younger. :wizard: that all the sick kiddos get better soon!

Keep an eye on him and if it progresses to croup, place a COLD washcloth on the back of his neck, or take him into the cold air for a little while. That's what we were told to do when our kids had the croup, and it really worked better than the moist heat we'd tried previously.

I'm sending :wizard: that Nicholas doesn't get the croup. It's the scariest thing for kids and mom's, too.

Tia glad to hear your power is back on! That is what I am always afraid of with ice storms.

Hi everyone! We are back home and keeping warm at last! Our power went out around 5:30 on Saturday morning and it came on sometime around 9:00 Monday night.

Awesome Glynis! :dance3:

I just have to share this with my Disney family: My husband is officially semi-Disney obsessed!!!!! He came home from work all excited to show me what he bought me. He had gotten the email from Disney shopping about their 75% sale, and free shipping on orders of $60.00. Well, he found a Mickey tow hitch cover for my van, 2 Mickey car backseat organizers for Katie and Jacob, a set of Mickey drawer pulls, 2 picture frames, and a Dash lunchbox for Jacob. I couldn't believe it!!!! Then he says, "What would you think about turning the playroom downstairs into our Disney room?" He wants to get some Disney beanbag chairs, pictures for the wall, wants to paint it up in Disney style, etc.

I think the half marathon/WDW trip really changed his heart. I'm so happy!

Yep I've spent many cold nights sitting on our back porch, with Nicholas wrapped up in a blanket. It works, too!

Well, I'm outta here. Going to get my hair trimmed. See you in a few hours.

Hope all the sick little ones feel better soon:wizard:

I need some help please :)

Riley's class is making family trees & we need to make one on a small poster board. Some of the kids at school have drawn flowers & put the names on the petals & 1 child drew a castle. I need to think of something different for our family tree for Riley.

I am not very good at this, so any help will be appreciated. The teacher said it can be hand drawn or something from the computer, it just needs to be creative.

I am not seeing my picture in my sig, can everyone else see it :confused3

My first thought was why not a tree house with 'rooms' shooting off for each family?

My mom made a family tree quilt once and it was so neat! Each branch of the tree was for a different branch of the family and there were apples on each branch. Each apple was a different member of the family. The roots of the apple tree were my great-great grandma and grandpa. It's a wonderful quilt. Maybe you could do something similar.

I was hoping for 12ish, not sure..I am still debating doing the FDP in which case I'd get an earlier lunch...hmmmmm...I would have a concrete idea of where we will be when the Disney hours come out (I think 2/1?)

DS has informed me that he wants to see Fantasmic on our last night instead of IllumiNations. We only saw it once last August, and we skipped it in December. So we're good to do whatever.:) Are you interested in meeting for lunch or dinner, or for Fantasmic? I can get an ADR for all of us since my call window opens earlier, or we can track each other down in the Fantasmic theater. I am going to have Thursday be our MGM day, so we'll be around except for DH's naptime.;)

Bernadette - What are your thoughts?

Hi, Janet!

Well, I'm outta here. Going to get my hair trimmed. See you in a few hours.

Hi, Tammi! I hope Nicholas feels better soon!

I am not seeing my picture in my sig, can everyone else see it :confused3

I can see it! I turned the images on the other day when I was doing a ticker and they are still on.

Speaking of haircuts, does anyone go to Regis? I got a $10 gift card in the mail and I do not go there. First one to ask may have it! Valid for salon services only, not product. Expires March 31.:)

Deb - I hope your guys feel better! That virus I had 2 weeks ago made my stomach HURT, but not like cramps. I hope Hunter doesn't have the same type of thing. Maybe a good power nap is what Colby needs!:)

Janet - When Terry mentioned "rooms" in your tree I thought of a beehive, with little sections of honeycomb for the names to go in. I am sure you will come up with something nifty!:thumbsup2

If you wanted something Disney, you could always model things after WDW! Have the "roots" of the tree be the castle or hub, and then each individual family could be one of the lands, and each individual in the family could be the rides.

Can anyone tell I was thinking a lot about the World today? :rotfl:

maybe just a little:banana:

Actually Lindsay I was trying to think of something Disney with the castle, just wasn't sure how to do it :thumbsup2
