it was mostly ice so that is why they are so small its hard to pack Ice.

man that's cold. I hope the kids had their coats on.

The kids love winters and have been dying to go sledding. We have about an inch of snow with a coating of ice on top. They just had to go out to our little hill and butt slide. They all had on snowpants, parkas, hats, mittens and boots, but there little faces were beet red when they came in. They played out there for over an hour.
I never thought to take pictures, maybe next time.

She's not kidding about the ice, I'll bet it was a full inch to 1 1/2 thick!! I chpped away at that for over 15 minutes. I had to climb in and push the slider open with my shoulder from the inside!

Anyway...

Jennifer - Grandpa (Dadboss' dad) called from Austin and he was blown away that our weather isn't as bad as yours. He's a professor at UT. I hope you guys are staying warm! Love the snowmen!

Anne Marie & Tammi - I am headed for the cereal myself. I had a bowl of edamame with Sister and then I had a glass of wine at the meeting. Middle school is already driving me to drink!

Glynis - Looking forward to your Epcot report!

Janet - Robin will be in my thoughts. I am just at a loss for words for how sad I feel for her.

The Nissan dealership called me today to say they can make 8 of my 10 remaining lease payments disappear. I told the man I have the January payment ready to go right now - he can have that but he needs to make the rest of that balance go away before we can deal. We are meeting with him on Friday morning. Hopefully I will have a new car before noon. My current car is acting a bit odd in the cold, so perhaps now is the time for a new one. ESPECIALLY if the payments come down!

Well, Momboss needs me at 6 AM so I better hit that cereal cabinet and head for bed! DS is going to be quite irritated with me for dragging him out so early, but Dadboss has a plane to catch and Momboss has to be in court way off somewhere. Since the cat gets cranky when we ask her to babysit I am really the only option left.

I just received this from my DD.
This is my great nephew Remeil.
His Grandmother would be so proud.
I lost my dear sister in law 7 years ago.

I also received some news from my youngest DSD.
I'm going to be a SGM again.
Her 1st, she is due in August.
I asked if she had told her Dad.
Answers yah I sent him a e-mail.
She hasn't always been close to him.
Her & I have always been close.

A few more thoughts as I spoon the cereal into my mouth...

I was telling Momboss that the Superintendent made sure to tell us that diversity in a district is a good thing, because the world is a diverse place. He said out of the 100 largest districts in TX only 31 of them are majority Anglo. Not quite sure what his point was. Nobody ever said diversity was a problem. Limited proficiency in English is the problem. Just ask the ladies in the corner who were wearing headsets for translation like they were at a U.N. conference.
There were only 3 moms from our school at the meeting, and I was one of them. I think most of the families are still licking their wounds from the lawsuit, or they are bailing out of public school altogether.
The principal at the middle school seems like a pretty cool guy. He is very well spoken, had good info, and answered our questions. I met the moms of some other boys currently in 5th grade at the other schools - there are multiple elementaries that feed into one middle & high school. I saw a couple of moms I know from when DS was in preschool. Maybe I can handle middle school after all. I think DS will love it - 7 classes, 45 minutes each. Hopefully I can plan some get togethers for him between now and the end of August so he will know some of the kids from the other schools when they all get there.

Okay aparently Texdot has run out of the deicer and sand to put on the roads.

So the flyovers are closed. Why they are trying to keep them deiced. when they should be using it on the bridges, that are used.
