Good morning! Busy day here. Just wanted to pop in & say "hi!":yay:

Do twins come in anything but a "couple"??? :lmao: :rotfl2: ;)

Hmm, never thought about that. :lmao:

Maybe I could ship all 4 to Elin. That would really liven up the joint! Hope she's good at handling sibling rivalry, which is rearing it's ugly head around here!

After Deb's suggestion I got a few of the Magic Treehouse books at the library. Nicholas finished his first last night, Dolphins at Daybreak. We are doing the same thing. He reads one chapter a night out loud to me.

Would you mind posting your casserole recipe?

Sure, it was yummy! I'm looking forward to leftovers at lunch!

Tater Beef Bake

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 1/4 C. water
2 envelopes sloppy joe sauce mix
1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
3 1/2 C. frozen green beans
1 can (4 oz.) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
6 cups frozen Tater Tots
1 C. shredded cheddar cheese

In a Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in water and sauce mix. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 3-5 minutes or until thickened. Add tomato paste; stir until blended. Add green beans and mushrooms. Transfer to a greased 13 X 9 baking dish. Top with Tater Tots. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese; bake 5-10 minutes longer or until heated through and cheese is melted.

Well, I've got to run defrost my car and take the twins to preschool. Then it's off to do some grocery shopping (case lot sales here, and I need tuna fish and soup), and a run to the library. I'm hoping to make it back here by lunch time!

It is beyond freezing here!!! I hate the cold!!!! I hope to just get everything done, and then I'm heading home for a cup of hot tea and a nice peaceful afternoon (is there such a thing?).

We moved to Louisiana from Idaho a couple of years ago..sure don't miss those Idaho winters!! But it is cold here today too, and rainy..the kids actually need a coat and gloves for school....that's rare down here!!!

We are finally getting winter here too. Yesterday we had freezing rain all day (yes Beth, we finally did get it!), and now today it's snowing quite a bit. We actually have several inches of accumulation. The older I get the less I like the cold weather. I'm not too worried about driving in snow, I just hate being cold! I was loving our 40 - 50 degree weather we'd been having, at least it was better than this.

Since I am recommitting to walking, I guess it will be the treadmill for me tonight, because I don't like walking outside when it is slippery.

No snow here but the temps are taking a nose dive today!:rolleyes2

Okay its 11 am here in texas and its SNOWING

Beyond the snow, Jennifer, how is the weather there? Did you guys get a lot of ice? I know they were saying on our news last night that UT had already canceled classes for today - figured it must be pretty nasty for them to decide to do that.

yes lots of ice. especially where we live. we cam back in because the ice was coming down again.

Olivia really wants to make a snow angel. So I hope we get some more snow.

Okay so what is everybody's favorite snack or appetizer and the recipe. There is a thread over on the budget board about superbowl recipes so I thought I would ask all of you what yours are.

That sounds good. I might have to try it.

I am ok, thanks.

I understand about expecting her to call or walk in. My dad is now gone a little over 10 months and there are some days I still think like that.

Hi Heidi. I'm doing okay. Good and bad days, as expected. It still seems a little surreal -- like I almost expect her to call me or walk in the room. I know, pretty weird. It sure does help to have such a wonderful support group here.

How are you?

Marci... :grouphug: I still get ready to call my Mom many nights on the way home from work.

Hey! How come I get the 4 kids?!?!? :confused3 I "would" take them though. I miss kids around the house...

I handle sibling rivalry pretty well since there are many classes I teach with siblings that I have to deal with. Send 'em along and I will send 'em back after they are whipped into shape. :rotfl2:

Cocktail Sausages

2 cans crescent rolls
48 cocktail sized sausages (can be found with the hot dogs)
Ketchup
Mustard
Pickle Relish

Heat oven to 375º.
Separate both cans of dough into 16 triangles, cut each triangle lengthwise into thirds.
Place a sausage on the shortest end and roll to opposite point.
Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375º for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown, switching position of cookie sheet 1/2 way through.
Serve warm with ketchup, mustard and pickle relish for dipping.
