Just home from the ENT with the kids. Nobody has Strep but me, so that's good news. Their ears look great from surgery (tubes), and they all passed the hearing test. BUT, Rees' nose is bad again with horrendous nose bleeds, tissue, swelling. So he is having surgery on Tues, Feb 28. Go in for a post-op visit and, once again, it's a Pre-Op appt for him. Poor kid never catches a break.

Off to ballet and then to the special ed school program to drop off more paperwork. Try to be back on later.
Poor little guy -give him hugs from us!!!

I am glad everything else looks great though!!

:wizard: :grouphug: for Rees. That stinks.

Denise..........I am also sending you Get Well wishes and hoping everything goes smoothly with Rees. Thanks for keeping us up to date how he is doing.

I had a mental health evening last Friday....It didn't work like they usually do!
My girls are the only ones I know who are allowed to have mental health days from school. I understand the total need for that break...I just need to figure out what that mental health day is going to be this time and when!!

I tried the chocolate last night it didn't work either.

I think I didn't see the start of this so it's gotten out of hand.

I see Cold Stone Creamery in my future!!

Cold Stone would definitely help me! I LOVE that place, but the nearest one is in the city and we haven't been close to it for awhile. I miss having it 2 blocks away like when we were in CA. Have they come out with the new Cake Batter yet? That was my favorite and I having been hoping it will be out again by the next time I make it there.

Feel better! I totally understand the feeling.

Well, I think the DDA PD is some powerful stuff!

My labs are normal, and the sonogram of the knots on my neck appear to be large "reactive" lymph nodes - just one chain of them, but no "concerning" characteristics. Since I'm not presenting any other symptoms, and my bloodwork didn't reveal anything, my dr. has just placed me under observation for the time being, and will evaluate whether they want to biopsy in about 3 weeks, should there not be any improvement.

I'll take that as good news for the time being - thanks for being a calming presence last night, and for all the good wishes. It is very much appreciated! :grouphug:

Sounds like good news to me! I'll keep praying that observation is the extent of it.

Denise - glad the kids don't have strep - but I'm sending lots of PD for Rees

I didn't look to see if they had cake batter....but they had a banana that tasted like bananas. Jim added mix-ins so that it tasted like a banana split. He knew I was in a bad way when I said I am getting a cup of cold stone and we aren't sharing(we usually share because I can eat less than half a "like it" and be done). Finished off a chocolate with reese's and caramel all by myself last night. And it tasted yummy.

The feeling is less today....Cold Stone and a good annual review helped...but I think I may be removing myself from the PTO board. First time I've even thought of it since Cassidy started school 10 years ago.

Poor Rees. :( I hope the surgery isn't too bad for him. Glad to hear that everyone else seems to have avoided Strep. :wizard: that this is Rees last surgery at least for while! :grouphug:

Congratulations on the good review! I checked the Stone Cold site and it looks like Cake Batter is back. Hmmm...maybe Terra and I will be detouring by there this weekend. Oh wait, I promised going to Curious Geoge movie...there is a theater right by Stone Cold...hmmm...I think we have a plan.

Oops...just noticed the Stone Cold vs. Cold Stone...that would be my hubby's name altering influence.

Denise-

Glad to hear nobody else has strep. Poor Rees that just sounds like no fun!! I remember having horrendous nose bleeds as a kid....blech!!

Glad all was okay otherwise.

I made Julia a behavior reward chart today and thought I would share it with you guys!

She and I sat down and talked about what should go on it - we then decided it would be a princess chart and so we picked out the princesses she wanted and thought about what lesson we could learn from her:

here is what we decided on each one:

Sleeping Beauty- Go to bed nice so I can get my beauty sleep
Jasmine - Brush my teeth so I have a beautiful smile like Jasmine
Ariel - Take a bath b/c playing in water is fun
Snow white - Help clean up my books and toys like snow white helped the dwarfs
Belle - Eat dinner nice and use the good manners Belle taught Beast
Pocahontas - Be nice to Nick like she is to her animals and friends
Meg - Meg had to learn to be nice and not so sassy - Listen to Mommy and Daddy
Mulan - Be good at school so she can learn like Mulan did when she was training
Cinderella - Get dressed so she can look like Cinderella going to the ball
Minnie Mouse - Get my hair done so she can wear a pretty bow
Daisy Duck - Use my nice words b/c having a temper like Donald gets him in trouble!!

here is the chart I made:

there is a design for Princess in Training with her princesses:
Princesstrainingchart.jpg

then each princess has a little star:
I reduced these to half a sheet to print them
princessrewards1.jpg

princessrewards123.jpg

then each princess has a big star:
princessrewardstars.jpg

princessrewards12.jpg

then I printed the stars in B/W as well to put on the poster - as she earns her stars she can put them on the B/W star - if she earns 8 stars a day - she gets a big star - and she can earn a bonus star for being an absolute angel at bedtime (this is our biggest struggle with her) and then when she earns ten Big stars - she gets to go to the Disney store to get a treat

Once I have the whole poster put together - if anyone wants to see I will post a picture

Yeah for none of the triples having strep! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

Boo to Rees needing more surgery. Here is some extra pixie dust for him. :wizard:

Are you feeling better? You sure do have a busy day today.

I do the Stone Cold too!! The one that gets me all the time is I will talk about Law & Order:SUV instead of Law & Order: SVU. Cracks everybody else up...probably because I hardly make mistakes :lmao:

You guys just never catch a break. It's good that they don't have strep, but poor Rees. Hopefully this will take care of that problem. Are you feeling better yet?

Terrific idea, Kate! And very creative (as usual)! My dd just got home and gushed "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" to you for the birthday treat me like a princess shirt design that you PM'd me. Thanks again!

I would love to see it! I think it's a wonderful idea! I love the whole traits of the princesses thing. I can't wait to see the finished product. I may have to ask if I can use it with my twins. Beautiful job as usual.

Ditto!!! I would love to see the finished product so I can see how big you are making those stars. O.K.....next we need one for the boys......that way I can make one for each of my grandkids......Haley and Jake.

Very cute. I had to make up charts for the boys this week too. They needed to keep track of their household responsibilities for 1 month and their health habits for 2 weeks. This is for their respective Cub Scout dens. We used general clipart, but yours is much cuter.

I haven't been posting much lately. My week has been turned upside down. I have to work different nights this week because I wanted to be able to see my boys snowboard once this year and tomorrow night is the last lesson. I am working tonight instead. I have also had a lot of things to do for Cub Scouts. I made the charts for the boys, helped them with requirements from their books and I am in charge of planning the Pack camping trip in May. The boys have also had way more homework this week than usual. I'm still reading along, but not posting so much.

Hello to all. :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug: :grouphug: for those that need it.

And :welcome: to those just joining us. I'll check in after work so don't go posting crazy tonight.

Deb

Hey Amy (and anyone else going soon with interested kids) - If Alyssa like Little Einsteins, I just saw a post that they have been appearing in MGM recently. They are at the trailers by Jojo.
