The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 2

Kate - I'm so sorry this has happened. I like Clare's idea of a watermark quite a bit. Seems like a good solution to the problem. I wish there was more that your DDA family could do to protect you!

My overnight scrapbooking event was a lot of fun. My SIL and I had a relaxing dinner that was free of goldfish crackers and coloring, and we stayed up until 2:30 a.m. working on pages! I finally started Alyssa's baby book. :goodvibes Kevin encouraged me to come home with at least 10 pages (this should come as no surprise, but Kevin really enjoys scrapbooking), and I impressed him by completing 14 pages! :teeth:

Maybe now, I'll stay motivated to keep working. I just wish I had a room where I could spread everything out and not have to worry about Alyssa or the animals causing chaos.

Amy :)

Um, no. I'm not a designer, remember? :teeth: Seriously, my layouts are nothing special (though Kevin was very complimentary :lovestruc ), and hopefully Alyssa will someday think I tried my best. :goodvibes

You may not be a designer - but you are way ahead of me with scrapbooking! I have some supplies and the basic knowledge of what to do - but that's where I stop. I don't have the creative juices to complete the pages. If I saw some other pages, then I could do them. But without the ideas, I'm lost!!!

I'm sure that your layouts look terrific! I really need to get moving on creating some of my own. I enjoy it when I do it, but two things prevent me: 1. not thinking that I can make a layout look "good enough" or "special enough" and 2. not having the space to keep things out.

It doesn't really matter if your layouts (or mine) aren't anything that we'd post to show others what to do. What matters is that we put our own touches into organizing/displaying family memories. Great job!

I'd love to see your pages to give me the motivation to go ahead and start my own.

pixiedust: to everyone that needs it.

Wow, Amy 14 pages that is great. I used to be great at getting my scrapbooking done as soon as I got home from a trip. I haven't even touched my October trip yet.....guess that is what happens when you go from working 12hr shifts with days off during the week to 8hr shifts Mon-Fri. I am loving the 8hr shifts, but some of my hobbies seem to be suffering-even getting on the DISboards. I don't get on as much as I used to :sad2: & I can't ever seem to catch up. BUT, I still love the DDA's & like popping in as much as I can.

Hope everyone starts feeling better :thumbsup2 , that designers will be given the credit they deserve :goodvibes , that Medicade will get their act together & take care of the people big & small that need taking care of :grouphug: & that we will all have a better week this week. :yay:

Colby and I started collecting the new Disney Book series that Price Chopper is selling. We picked up books 1 - 3. When I read the Nemo book to him the last page had a picture of Nemo and Marlin with the caption "Love Ya, Dad" and Marlin responding "I love you too son". I couldn't resist scanning it in for a t-shirt design. So here it is, but credit for this one is the story itself.

Kate, I am so, so sorry that this is happening to you!!! It is such a shame when people can be so inconsiderate!

Amy- congrats on the scrapbooking. I recently moved an old table into one of our extra bedrooms and have my scrapping/stamping stuff out everywhere so I can go in and do it, and just close the door to the mess when I leave. Hopefully that will help me get caught up!!

:wizard: to everyone else who needs it today!

Not at all! This is the way Tink looks :goodvibes

That sounds like a ton of fun....glad you enjoyed your "me" time!!

Well that's no good, hope Abi feels better soon :wizard: Did you contact the place you had eaten at?

After sleeping most of the afternoon I did some on line research and this house has a case of food poisoning!! Thank goodness it was from eating out and not my cooking. . But I would appreciate some pixie dust over this way as Abi missed two days of school last week and looks like she will miss tomorrow.

I hope you can get him to go at least once, maybe he will be like the rest of us & fall in love with the place :teeth: Dh has gone twice with us, but it is hard to enjoy when you know he does not want to be there. Hang in there, there is still hope!

That's the only way we get to go around here too...without hubby. I've been working for 2 years (and am still working) to get him to go on the big family trip in May 07. I'm hoping that Terra's recently continuous asking him to see Epcot fireworks with her will work some magic.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time! It's nice to get away once in awhile :goodvibes

Brenda,
I am just getting back to reading the board. I was going to ask you that if I did get enough $$ together, would you mind if I got this design as a tatoo for me? I would be honored to be a tink sister. In no way is the design too sexy. Besides at our age we are already sexy, this just adds to our charm :thumbsup2

I like the watermark idea also. My trip isn't until Dec 2006 so I enjoy just going thru your design pages until I can be there in real life. It also helps me with ideas on how I may need them personlized. You have a great talent and we defenitely appreciate and enjoy your designs.

Yes we missed you!!! I have gone on a couple weekend scrapbooking parties. I get alot more accomplished than if I was at home. I am like you....I wish I could have just a craft room so I could keep everything spread out and just go in and work on it when I can. It seems to take so long to set everything up just to work on it for an hour or two......then the time if takes to pack everything away.

Alyssa will defenitely appreciate it. I did one for my stepdaughter from K - 22yrs. I wasn't there before her kindergarten years but I completed up until she was 22yrs old. She LOVED it!!!!

I finally bought a 50th Anniversary Mickey antenna ball on this last trip. I put it away til I get my vehicle next month, went to look at it & somehow one of the ears broke off :sad1: I sure hope they still have these if I get to go back in Oct. Til then I guess super glue will have to do :rotfl:
